Roy Moore was the fool's choice of the Republican party. He was the left-over candidate after Mitch McConnell interfered and spared no expense attempting to get his own puppet elected. Mitch failed ... and now gets to live with the consequences of that failure.

The appeal Roy Moore provides to the people of Alabama is that, like Trump, he's not afraid to stand on principle for what he believes is right. Hate him all you want. Personally, I'm glad he's still in the race. Win or lose now, Mitch McConnell has to deal with someone else he didn't want to. What's worse, many people in Alabama and a few in the rest of the country understand the reasons behind the disaster of the Republican party in Alabama now. They aren't likely to forget it ... especially if the slim Republican majority is reduced by one.

As for Moore's virtue? You should try running for public office and see how accurate anyone in the news media reports about you ... especially if you threaten to upend the status quo. You might remember not long ago even Ted Cruz was maligned eight ways from Sunday ... for things he definitely did not do.
