A guy who shouts at his wife and kids thinks he is just ‘getting respect’. I think Trump has a similar mentality when it comes to politics. On the other hand, I’m curious how things will look in 5 or 10 years, mainly in terms of how successful other countries and regions will be in developing trade agreements that sideline the US. On the other other hand there’s a lot not to like about the liberal agenda and where that is headed. I suspect that things will continue in a more or less similar fashion, with the US losing some standing internationally but nothing that will hugely effect people like big D who have plenty of cash.

Whether a ruler/President is "LIKED" by other countries is not necessarily an accurate assessment of anything bad about the ruler/President. Not at all.

We dug a pretty deep hole the last 8 years. It will take a while to climb out.
"deep hole"...interesting way to describe this graph:
PG_2017.06.26.US_Image-00-1.png
Because to me? it looks like the "deep hole" didn't come about until that minority of voters put the D-level reality show host into the White House.

Then again, our goal is not to be "liked". Respect is far more valuable within the context of geopolitics.
Too bad no one respects President Trump either...so another "deep hole" right there. :sorry:
tulc(never would have thought some people could view a very high mountain as a "deep hole")

To be fair, I should not have said "8 years". I should have said 60. My bad.

Of course a black president made a "deep hole". Even if "deep hole" is very high mountain, it will be described as "deep hole".

When a POTUS states that some KKK and Nazis are "some very fine people", as Trump did, the world will not have a high opinion of him.

Trump is considered laughing stock around the world, and Americans are being seen as same for electing such a buffoon. Now that likely pedophile appears to be elected in Alabama, the laughing will only get louder.

Your graph is very interesting but it seems highly subjective and somewhat vague as to who exactly are the people that are being polled? Leaders of those countries? Average citizens of those countries, beauty pagent contestants in those countries, insane asylum inmates in those countries, high schoolers in San Antonio Texas speaking for those countries for purposes of this poll? ? I do not see the makeup of the respondents in your graph. Did I miss it? Does their opinion of what "doing the right thing" have any objective criterion attached to it so we could look at that objective criterion in order to decide if we agree with them on what was the right thing to do? Are we supposed to just assume that their opinion of what doing the right thing would be is somehow authoritative? Do they all even agree on what would be the right thing to do?

Yes, you are losing the debate. And you shout racist in an attempt to muddy the waters. I think you are probably an expert at pigeon chess as well.

Trump is laughing stock around the world. Americans are becoming laughing stocks around the world for electing such a buffoon. And the laughter will only get louder when you elect a likely pedophile in Alabama.

Put out a poll in rural America and see how many
people care what the world thinks. I don't, because
they show what they really believe by the number
of people trying to immigrate to the USA.

Title of thread is: "World Opinion of Trump and U.S.".

Title is not: "Rural America's opinion of Trump"
Or "Rural America's opinion of pedophiles".

Excuse me, is "Rural America" on another planet or is it part of this world? Stats must include rural America for the world, I would think.

I think usage of "World Opinion" in this case is outside of USA. Try reading article linked to by original poster. It is about opinion in countries outside of USA.

In this case Trump is big laughing stock and is openly mocked by other world leaders.

Trump has plunged America into an ethics crisis and made country a laughing stock
'People Here Think Trump Is a Laughingstock'
European diplomats: Trump is a 'laughing stock'
Donald Trump Mocked By Nordic Prime Ministers
Donald Trump Mocked by Malcolm Turnbull of Australia on Tape

When the Alabama elects likely pedophile as senator laughter will get louder. This is because world is watching a ...
Ex-CIA official on Trump, Flynn: 'I'm watching a clown show'

So this graph was compiled from the results of a survey . How nice. Pop Science at its finest. I'm not sure what conclusions one can draw about the amount of respect foreign governments might have for the US from this survey whose purpose is to gauge the opinion of the average person that is willing to participate in a survey. I hope your point is not that the priority of US foreign policy should be to get people in other countries to have a good opinion of the President of the US. I'm sure the people of mainland Europe had a high opinion of Neville Chamberlain. They also were probably of the opinion that Winston Churchill was a war monger and not to be trusted.
