I Confess My Sin

The Bible says to confess your sins to each other. So I feel I must confess. My faith has not been in God. But in a job and in my money. This is a sin. I know I should not be this way. I know my faith should be in God. I want to be free from this sin. So I feel I should confess this sin to Jesus and also to my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

Forgive me Father God for my putting my faith in something other then you. In the name of Jesus I pray for your forgiveness. Amen.

Nothing wrong with confessing your sin here among those of your kind...serves the same basic purpose.

"Online" is what it is, and though it may or may be best to be physically near those we confess our sin too, as well as do so in a more private manner, I would think this would be at least better than nothing, if not close enough.

Main thing is we stay aware of our sin, that's what confessing to God and others does for us, plus it can give us the opportunity to know others do the same sins, get others feelings on same problems, thus help us with overcome or understand them.

You seem to be aware so.

Why do you feel you are putting your faith in money/job over God?

I freak out ! If hrs get cut and funds run low! I fall into despair and question my believe in God. I am being honest here. I am not a perfect being. I should have faith in God. Faith that when I call on his help that he will come through. He has always done so in the past. Yet every time I freak out and start thinking God is not there for me. I am like the Israelites in the wilderness. God help them. God provided for them. Yet they still complain when trouble showed up. I guess everyone has a sin the devil tries to attack them with. This is my sin. I felt that coming right out and saying it would be a step forward for me. Instead of pretending it was not an issue.

It's good that is a concern for you, and freaking out may be a little over the line, however, I don't know what bills you have to pay so, might be something to freak out about. But either way.. happens to many of us.

I need something from God, it doesn't seem to be happening, and I'm all over doing everything I can to taker care of it myself, then I wonder if that doesn't mean I have too little faith, I should just relax and leave it to God...or should I?

Maybe I should just quit my job and leave it to God. Not really but you see my point. At what point do we say we have too little faith because we concern ourselves about taking care of ourselves as God wants us to do? Kind of a catch 22.

God gets that it can be a little confusing when we knowhe wants us to work and take care of ourselves, but at the same time depend on him. So I've concluded doing all I can to alleviate a problem, then if that's not enough, leave it with him. Even then we will worry, but over time as he proves himself to us, maybe not so much...it's a process.

If, as in the old days, he verbally/no guess work, told us he would do something, and then we worried about it, or doubted that may be different, but these days, he ain't talkin' so we have no idea what's going on, and where the confusion comes in. For all we know he's going to leave it to us, or not grant is supernaturally, we have to do it, or he is going to help, who really knows?

There's many a time in the bible where people worried/had little faith yet God still took care of them, so again, he gets it.

There are a lot worse sins, and though this one can be a problem, I don't think it's as bad as all that, not as far as you are concerned, however that's a decision you will make for yourself, and hope the input helps.
