Hello everybody

I believe in terms of end times prophecies, the EU going from 28 to 10 members will be the thing that will require the most time to develop. I just don't see how this can be accomplished anytime soon unless I am missing something. Please let me know your thoughts.

Could you elaborate a bit on what you mean?

Thanks

Yes from my understanding I believe the antichrist is a person who is the leader of the ten horns which people believe is the EU. Many people believe the EU has to be reshaped to only include 10 members for this to happen. Unless I am wrong regarding the ten horns being the EU?

I don’t know but I can see what you are getting at now. The EU will still have 27 member states after Brexit.

Maybe it will be the ten states left in US ? The Biblical proof is probably equally valid for both scenarios.

What scripture/scriptures lead you to believe this?

I have read Every Single passage in scripture that teaches explicitly about antichrist and I find nothing at all that indicates or even points to the conclusion you have reached above.

I studied and argued this stuff for DECADES (two). I realized one day that it is "almost" an exercise in futility.

I say "almost", for two reasons. First, it is good to study it so that when it DOES happen, you will recognize the signs. Second, it keeps you studying His word.

What gets sort of annoying is all the speculation that turns out to be way, WAY off base. I've come to the conclusion that prophesy is not there to predict the future. It is there for two reasons:
1. As a warning.
2. When it does happen, it proves the source.

Regarding the first, much of the prophesy of the old testament has come to pass and it was a warning that sometimes was heeded. Regarding the second, the prophesies about Jesus was proven in Jesus' life and death and resurrection.

Trying to figure out some of the detials as they compare to our current world has become comical to me. Back when I became a Christian, it was all about Hal Lindsey and war in the middle east over oil. Remember that? ;)

It's a very common believe in these forums that the ten horns represent the EU and the antichrist is the appointed leader of the ten

I remember the best selling book "88 reasons whay the rapture will be in 1988"

I also remember the far less popular sequel by the same author, "89 reasons the rapture will be in 1989"....

And a lot of people still believe the earth is flat and that no kindergartners were killed in Sandy Hook...

therefore..?

Sorry I guess I don't understand your response and how it addresses my question about where SCRIPTURE teaches anyhting of the sort.

The EU doesn't have to go to 10 member states, countries. The EU is more likely to be organized as ten districts or blocks of equal representation population wise.

Of the ten districts, some could have two or three countries.

Your are on the right track though that the person who becomes the Antichrist, then later the beast, will be from the EU.

Yeah, I used to really be into that and believe that. I don't disbelieve it now. I just don't know. I'm sure those of us that are alive when it happens will find out. ;)

I rememver catching Hal Lindsey in a bald faced lie in a book called "A Prophetic walk through the Holy Land" regarding his caption for a picture taken in the upper room.

And to add perspective, it was reading one of his books that led me to Christ.
