True, but how long have there been books and then computers? Daniel prophesied an increase of knowledge in the end times. The invention of the printing press was the first fulfillment of the prophesy, but the ultimate fulfillment is computers, the internet and Google that places the worlds knowledge at the fingertips of all. Other end times prophecies may be ambiguous and seen throughout history, but this one is without doubt only fulfilled in the last 10 years. The only one up of this is the dire prediction by Elon Musk that AI in robots will soon be smarter, better than humans. I predict God will not allow such a thing and the end will come before we accomplish it. It is an even higher tower than the Tower of Babel.
Daniel 12:4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
This is rather humorous.Well, I already knew Trump is anti-Christ, so maybe there was something to this end times stuff after all....
Seriously, I read Hal Lindsey as a teen and it messed with my head. Never again will I fill my religious devotion full of fantasies worthy of a comic book. I'm an amillenialist and sticking with that.
You are right. We do not know the day or the hour.... But, as someone else has said, we will know the season..God has given us information in order to be knowledgeable of when it will be close, just by the events that preclude it.Here you go and here are a few more of the words of our Lord from the Gospels:
Matt. 24:36 ¶ “But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Luke 12:40 You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.”
Matt. 25:12 But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I do not know you.’
Luke 12:37 Blessed are those slaves whom the master finds alert when he comes; truly I tell you, he will fasten his belt and have them sit down to eat, and he will come and serve them. 38 If he comes during the middle of the night, or near dawn, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves.
Matt. 24:41 Two women will be grinding meal together; one will be taken and one will be left. 42 Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.
Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness
You are right. We do not know the day or the hour.... But, as someone else has said, we will know the season..
They are not the teachings of Christ...And those two things just happen to be core Christian beliefs, so I'm guessing we're not members of the same religion.
So you opine, not mine. Good luck proving me wrong. Do you realize that the quoted text explicitly says we should be looking forward to the day?
Apply that to literally any and every incident of technological progress and it works all the same. In a hundred years perhaps someone will come along and say, "Well back then they had the internet, but now we just upload books directly into our brains".
Or perhaps in a hundred years a nuclear war will bring us back to the iron age and society will go A canticle of Liebowitz on us.

End times predictions are numbered like grains of sand on a beach! Ignore, and move on.
I disagree.Nope. Acts 1:7, "It is not for you to know the times or seasons which the Father has established by His own authority."
Perhaps you are thinking of the cursing of the fig tree,
"From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, at the very gates. Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." - Matthew 24:32-25
Jesus isn't talking about His return here, He doesn't start talking about His return until verse 36, up until this He has been talking about the future destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple which transpired in 70 AD.
When talking about His return He is clear, "No one knows", and when His disciples ask, "Will you now restore the kingdom to Israel" He responds, "It's not for you to know the times or seasons". In fact when Jesus talks about His coming He is absolutely clear about the fact that it will be sudden, we won't be able to figure out when, or look to signs, because there won't be any signs,
"For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so too will be the coming of the Son of Man." - Matthew 24:37-39
When the Lord returns, no one will expect it, have anticipated it, or known when it would happen. Life will be going on like usual--people eating, drinking, marrying, having families, going to work. Then suddenly and without warning will the Lord come in judgment, "Two will be in the field, one taken and the other left." (v. 40)

That's funny...You have a picture of the antichrist as your Avatar.
Says who, exactly?
That's funny...
People trying to pick out who the Anti Christ is... is the same as picking the day Christ comes...
Oh, no worries... I truly meant it was funny..I dont actually think that the antichrist is a cartoon character. its a metaphor
This is rather humorous.
Trump is actually doing more for the Christians, in the positive than the negative.
Everyone said that Obama was the Anti Christ.... so, now it's Trump... funny.
I think you will find, although it goes with out saying, God is in control of all things, not to mention who is in power where and when. So, it is in God's interest to have Trump as the leader of the US right now. If this were not so.... Trump would not be in power.Trump is not Antichrist, he doesn't fit the bill. But the only thing he's doing for Christians is promoting new age garbage

I'm not saying that I agree with everything Trump is saying (duh) or doing. However, I do know that he consults with Pence, his vice, very often and Pence is an admitted Christian who has gone on record to say that it is this belief that he puts before anything else.
I was just talking to a friend of mine that does a lot of research and has a personal interest in prophesy.
He informed me that he has been reading a lot of speculation that Trump will, in fact, be in for another term.
Another thing that he has found is a very popular view is that, as we know, a small group of very wealthy and powerful people control a lot of what goes on in this world. Including US political events. It is, from what he has read, poplar belief that these controlling people did not want Trump in power. It is an event of concern or revelation that for whatever reason, Trump has been able to steel a spot in this prestigious and powerful office.... with the blessing of God... as I mentioned before, God IS in control... and that he is in this office AGAINST the powers that have been controlling this particular office for decades.
In my opinion, Trump has stalled or slowed or put a monkey wrench, into the plans of evil that are controlling this earth. It is also my opinion, that if Clinton had of won.... we would have seen great changes in the rights and freedoms of God believing Christians in the west.
Trump may not be that optical of a force for God's plan. However, things are happening, not reported by the media, that are small steps and changes for the good of the US and the world... Under Trumps leadership.
It just occurred to me... if we are always ready and expecting him, how will he be able to come if he's supposed to come at a time when we're not expecting him?44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. (Matthew 24:42-44)
Given that we are eternal beings, we don't really have a "last" day, imo.Jesus says to have the sense of urgency, by considering that every day you live may turn out to be your last, so........
