When we go to God and tell Him that "we are sorry" (confession) it needs to be a bit more than that. We have to agree with God that what we did was wrong/sin and we need to commit to change for the better and ask Him for help in doing so. If we are saved/born-again then we indwelt with the Holy Spirit and we need to tune in to His presence and leading. James 4:7 tells us that satan will flee us if we resist him but the beginning of that verse sets the condition that we need to be submitting to God: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Sometimes we have to stand all alone in this world of evil but never forget that the Creator and Sustainer of all people and the universe is right at your side. He has promised to never leave or forsake us. "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 One last thing Jen, try not to rely upon how you feel. It is the FACT of what God tells us in His Word which has to trump our feelings. Sometimes we don't feel as we ought but we can ALWAYS rely on the consistency and TRUTH of God's Word. May these bless you: John 10:10, Jeremiah 29:11 and Joshua 1:5. I will pray for you to be filled with the hope and joy and strength we children of the Loving Father in heaven are entitled.
