Good, he was terrible at his job. We should dump Amy as well...
I don't know who Amy is.... I was more interested in the fact that Democrats are taking these allegations seriously despite what Republicans seem to say on these boards.

Considering a strong faction of them do not apparently believe in due process, why would anyone say they aren't taking allegations seriously?

People seem to imply that Democrats only want Republicans who have been accused of misdeeds to resign or not be elected, but now they are calling for higher standards for the Democratic party. I think these so called cases of lack of due process, well, if they are charged with a crime in a court of law they can expect due process. Credible accusations need to be heard now, and especially for Congressmen, who have hid behind a wall of ridiculous requirements for employees to report harassment.

I can't imagine why...

So if I accuse you of pedophilia, you should lose your job and be ran out of town without evidence?

While I am all for due justice of the law, I think Al shot himself in the foot on this one.

If half a dozen people made accusations against me who actually know me and were around when I was an adult and they were children I would want to have some pretty clear story to explain what happened, not first say they were nice people and then denying knowing them. And if someone asked if I dated children I would hope I wouldn't say "Not usually.". Then if someone made an accusation that was credible I wouldn't scream bloody murder that she was a liar. And I would explain why I was banned from the mall.

I used to work with mentally ill teens. None of the women were accused of sexual abuse but a few men were. People were quick to blame the children's mental illness for these accusations, but eventually some of them were proved true to my satisfaction. One guy even went to jail. So I think people usually have their reasons for making accusations.

First Conyers and now Franken. It's almost like the democrats forgot to throw the grenade after they pulled the pin.
I don't like this attitude. Not everything has to do with politics. Some things have to do with human decency.

I'm assuming most of that is referring to Moore, whom I haven't kept track of, and do not like. I'm speaking in far broader terms.

...the fact that you felt satisfied at this, rather than horror, shock, and grief really says something about you. Not a very good thing, either.

So I think people usually have their reasons for making accusations.

Oh, people can have their reasons, but to just assume every person who makes an accusation is telling the truth and to railroad people over it without proof is neither Godly nor American.

Mental Illness has my vote here.
Nah. Personality disorder like narcissistic personality disorder maybe but I don't think there is a mental illness that goes along with having a job as a Senator.

Oh I felt plenty of emotions and you would have had to have been there to understand why I use this wimpy language. Moore's case will never go to trial and others will not see justice due to the statute of limitations, but I do not want people who think they can use their power to treat people like packages of meat writing the laws I have to live under.

That's an extremely uncharitable and unfair reading of what they said.
