Hello, looking for recommendations for good commentaries dealing with individual books of the bible, particularly interested in any commentaries on Exodus anyone has found useful. Commentaries that reference different interpretations from other scholars etc and provide a solid historical context,

Thanks

I'm not familiar with the more recent ones ;) and when I was in Bible College I learned that it depends upon which way you lean in each Book of the Bible...as to what author was best to reinforce your learning path. You know... Pink is good for this... and Scofield that... A T Robinson and Matthew Henry are my 2 all around favs I guess.

With these conditions, do you realize that they may be more than 50% in error ?

Some exegesis (if that is the correct word) by men of Yahweh called and chosen by Him may be more than 97% true/ accurate, but they are not as popular and not used with Scripture to direct lives much (people are too convicted or feel guilty reading what they are supposed to do, even studying it, but not doing it, Perhaps)

Since the persecuted believers are also the more faithful ones, their writings also are more 'censored' or dismissed, and may be more difficult to locate -- some studies that use the Name of the Creator (in original Hebrew, Aramaic , Greek and English) are not even permitted in some group's buildings and services, worldwide.

I’m not so sure. I’m mainly interested in careful scholarship, authors who take a methodical approach to the text and have a deep understanding of what other theologians have already uncovered to build on. If you have any examples of what you are referring to though please do list any,

Thanks,

Tom

See, with this condition, epic fail.
Based on what Yahweh says , in His Word,
and Yeshua: about 'scholars', etc.

The ones called and chosen by Yahweh, set apart by Him, wrote Scripture,
and Yahweh guards Scripture,
and Yahweh reveals Scripture,
to who ? (according to Scripture).
