England's top religious authority, the archbishop of Canterbury, said Sunday that he doesn't understand why so many Christians in the U.S. support President Donald Trump.

The Most Rev. Justin Welby told ITV's "Peston on Sunday" program that he "really genuinely" can't comprehend why fundamentalists have provided such a strong base for Trump.

"There's two things going through my mind: Do I say what I think, or do I say what I should say? And I'm going to say what I think," he said on the show, referring to the support Trump has garnered, especially from so-called Evangelical Christians. "No, I don't understand it. I really genuinely do not understand where that is coming from."

Maybe he should be baffled by the sad state of the Episcopal Church instead.

LOL. So you're going for the I'm rubber, you're glue line of reasoning there?

Just because I post doesn't mean I care what he thinks.

So you're just littering the thread then? If you don't care, it's a waste of time for all involved for you to click the link & write a post just to tell us how much you don't care.

1) I don't know why you feel the need to goad me by rating my post 'prayers'.
2) You're the one who started this thread as if it should matter to us what this guy thinks about Christians supporting Trump.

Doesn't the Bible say something about supporting the rulers of the country ?
How come a ruler in religion doesn't know that apparently ? ? ?

How come you don't know that the Arch of Cant doesn't live in your country?

I don't care about what the rest of the world thinks either. For one, a few hundred people polled doesn't make up the opinions of 7 billion people. So, I'm not concerned what any survey has to say. If I were to judge solely on the reactions Trump gets when he travels overseas, they've embraced him more than they have Obama. Even China brought out the stairs this time, which they didn't even have the respect for Obama to do! I didn't support and elect an American president to make the rest of the world happy, so I don't care about their opinions either.

I might be worried if Trump was popular outside the States. We've been taken advantage of for decades. We've re-discovered our manhood under Trump.

You obviously have no clues about how surveys are carried out and analysed.

China brought out the shiny things to pander to Trumps ego. They have him figured out.

Like it or not, America must live with the rest of the world. Flippant observations like yours suggest that you need to get out more - see the world Saucy.

Of course we have to live with the rest of the world, but the rest of the world doesn't get to weigh in on who we should support or not support for president. If that was the case, then it shouldn't matter if Russia influenced, right? I know how surveys are carried out. I also know they're hardly accurate and the votes of a few hundred people DO NOT dictate what billions of others have to think.

I don't like that Macron guy. I thought the PM of Canada weeping over LGBTs was disgraceful. But no one cares what I have to think about other world leaders and that's fine.

I didn't realise you were confused about your gender before Trump.

Congratulations on making a successful transition!

Read the posts again.
It doesn't matter where he lives.
Never mind Jeff.

If I tried to explain how the grammatical usage in your post suggested you meant a specific, singular country - we'd be here til Xmas.

Read my lips Saucy.

No-one has suggested that the rest of the world should choose your Pres.

We are however suggesting that you have made a spectacularly bad choice.
