How "self-righteous" of the ProLife advocates to lecture the rest of us as to the sanctity of human life, only to choose to remain silent sitting on their "collective hands," when this Republican President and Congress, that they helped elect, recently allowed funding for the Children's Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) for 9 million of America's most vulnerable children to lapse!

Actions speak louder than words, despite all the rhetoric to the contrary by the ProLife supporters for expectant mothers to continue with a full term pregnancy, you're literally on your own once that baby is born - don't expect any support in America if you're poor or have a special needs child!
What about Obama Care? Doesnt it provide HC for children?

This President and Congress have already tried to repeal Obamacare 3 different times - they are doing everything in their power to destabilize the insurance exchanges by removing the compulsory component, forcing premiums to skyrocket!

As a last resort, there is always the lie that pro-life does not care about children after they are already born.

If that was the case just how does "SolomonVI" explain decision by a Republican dominated Congress to allow the funding of the Children's Health Insurance Program for 9 million o America's children to lapse - where is the outrage from ProLife advocates that supported them during the 2016 Election?

You didnt answer the question. You said GOP allowed CHIp to expire. I asked you if Obama care insured children. And you say, what?

It is easily explainable by understanding that government makes very crappy providers for children. Parents are the ones that are invested, and conservative policy is therefore aimed at empowering parents rather than empowering government. Socialism doesn't work. Ask any Venezuelan how socialism is working out for them.
The welfare of American children has always been comparable to the welfare of all first world children. Some programs in some countries are better; some are worse. It is debatable which programs are the best, especially when things such as innovation and medical R&D are factored in. What is not debatable is that a third of each generation of American children is being aborted. It takes the lie that only socialists really care about children to cover that fact up through deflecting from the stark reality of that kind of statistic.

Government in the healthcare business ~ but somehow the founders who established this Nation forgot to notice people get sick ~ and they made no provision for the government to provide for sick people.

Oh ya, imagine that....a Nation of free people to take care of themselves!

God Bless,

What about alternatives to abortion supported publicly by government?

Think I rather women had greater access to birth control than abortions; even if it's payed by the government. Also men too; if people will have sex regardless of consequences, either those children will be born or aborted. If not aborted, then unwanted children have parents not prepared to provide for them; possibly not willing to abort, give their children for adoption. So while I'm not sure about the specifics, generally the alternatives to abortion are birth control (surgery or pills etc.), parental preparation and development (help before or after etc.), adoption (convincing people to care etc.).

I tend to lean toward limited government, but life is complicated. Those who oppose abortion and support limited government, any people actually; what are your ideas and expectations beyond the legality of abortion? How can society effectively handle unwanted pregnancies and children? If not abortion or government?

It wouldn't be biblical. Abortion was practiced in the world of the New Testament and in no place does the Bible, Old or New, condemn abortion.

I didn't know Baptist were pro-choice...

I learn something new everyday on the forums. Just in the last couple days I found out that Luther, the forerunner of the Reformation, said to "Sin Boldly" so grace can abound. So it is no surprise they are neutral on abortion.

I like Gods welfare plan the best, "that if any would not work, neither should he eat". There is no incentive for people to work or try and make it on their own if the govt. sends them a check every month. Capiche?

Actually, there would be incentive to work if they would be allowed to keep the extra money. Everybody knows how one always wants a little more . . . .

But some rules about how to expend one's charity money bump up against the lack of money to share.

I suppose I am in a minority among the Baptists on that score. Doesn't mean I'm wrong.

Where are the votes for good schools and good medical care for children? What keeps such causes from getting the same energy put into being against abortion?

A third of each generation is being destroyed by abortion, and you are only interested in the Democratic agenda of more, more, more , more government. You have no interest in that third of each generation being destroyed by abortion.

America spends more on schools than most countries Its medical care is comparable to other first world countries. More will do nothing to make anybodies life any better.
It is a lie that pro-life does not care about children after they are born. Some pro-life actual believe in the socialists agenda; many more have too much common sense to repeat the same dumb mistakes of more, more, more while getting less, less, less.

Either way, pro-life focuses on life of the unborn, which is being destroyed in the millions.
This is not your focus. This is of no interest to you. It means nothing to you, and even less to the Democratic agenda.

So your Christianity has nothing to do with me either. There is no unity to be had here.

But we have already been through all that.

Well, you're wrong if you want to follow God, but right if you want to follow a certain political party.

What about the children conceived/borne to them? Is this a cause for helping, even if the parent's aren't most deserving of it? We have our personal and political opinions about it, but what are we supposed to do?

This is not God's welfare plan, but a verse in Thessalonians taken very much out of context. The context isn't about poor people at all, but about people who were utterly convinced Jesus was coming back at any moment, so a number of people literally stopped working or doing anything productive believing there wasn't any point in continuing their normal activities, and Paul was addressing this specific situation.

To twist this verse into God somehow being opposed to helping poor people, when there are numerous verses all throughout scripture condemning people and nations who turn their backs on the poor, is not only wrong but in opposition to Christ's teachings.

North Korea agrees with this "no work, no eat" policy regarding poor people though, considering all of the mass starvation that has gone on over there, among other atrocities. We have no right to blame God for such a policy, or for considering it anything close to being scriptural though. Nope, it's all due to human sinfulness and cruelty towards each other.

Currently, these children may as well be dumped in a garbage can for all the concern given to them. They literally do not matter once they are born. Millions of children in the U.S. are homeless, impoverished, subject to daily abuse and violence, born with various addictions, birth defects, mental deficiencies, lack of nutritious food, and the list goes on and on.

Are you saying that some people who abort their children do so because they dont want to feed them?
