aaah stupid OCD Am i going to hell now ?

agghhh my stupid OCD is making life hard for me at the moment looking around on you tube for music come across celtic music played the music but next to it was pagan music listened to that and started to look at more and more pagan stuff including me joining a pagan forum looking at the posts dont why i did this but its making my OCD crazy i want to follow it but i know its wrong for me to do that i remember prayers that am reading in the prayer book now i think am going to go to hell just like what one of my abusers said to me when i was a child them saying that makes me scared av done something wrong will i go to hell ?

My understanding is that if you are sincere in your repentance as a sinner and acknowledge Christ as your saviour and redeemer who rose from the dead you’ll be fine.

Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved

That’s pretty water tight.

On the other hand, intrusive thoughts associated with OCD can be treated with SSRI medication (like sertraline).

Go to your GP (family doctor) and have a conversation about medication and cognitive behavioural therapy.

am on medication at the moment but its not helping at all my psych says i have to try and use mindfulness and the DBT/CBT ( i cant remember what one i had ) i had with a psychotherapist who only sees me for things like when i had impulsive thoughts that i was going to hurt people or hurt my nieces little ones i sometimes feel like i want to but i never do that i know i should get other therapy but they will not give me more as its NHS i normally see my pastor about things like this but he on holiday for 10 days i need to try and deal with this while he is gone am not so good at mindfulness i try but i find it hard to deal with my OCD

Although I have not been diagnosed with OCD, to an extent I have the symptoms (and a tendency towards depression) and it can make life very difficult. Disorders though can be managed and used in productive ways or just the opposite. I pray the Lord will use yours for His glory, and I pray judgmental people will leave you alone. God bless.

Greetings. I do not believe in hell. I do not believe Jesus sends anyone to hell. Jesus will protect you and guide you. He loves you very much.

If you are in the UK you can go to your nearest IAPT service and ask for an assessment.

If you say you have OCD symptoms they will give you a questionnaire called an OCI.

If you score sufficiently high you would be put forwards for high intensity CBT (up to twenty one hour sessions) as per the NICE guidelines for treating OCD in primary care.

I’m a manager/therapist at an IAPT service in Liverpool so I know the system you can use.

av seen someone and am in Scotland not England the nhs in Scotland is different to England but thank you for your post
av seen a therapist but the therapy didn't work for me i also have other mental health problems including BPD and voices and seeing things sometimes the thoughts turn against me and i start to hear what my thoughts have been saying over and over and it dont help with it i get tired of fighting this i hold on for my husband and family and i hold on for Jesus but sometimes i think am wrong i should be somewhere else or that going to another faith will make things better for me but the only person who makes it better is Jesus I HAVE TO HAVE FAITH ALWAYS IN HIM

Christians are constantly exposed to sinful things. It is the trend of your life, living in sin or not living in sin. Everyone stumbles here and there. If you feel convicted or do something you know to be contrary to scripture then repent with a sincere heart, and you are forgiven. Give it to the Lord and don't take it back. Accept the forgiveness and move on in the Lord.

i worry all the time about everything i cant stop it at all i worry about money i worry about my husband and family and friends i worry about everyone i cant be at peace am trying to find peace i know i cant keep sinning like this i want help i want to change but i am so fearful am going to hell am a very worried person i feel suicdal because of this i think everything is my fault

i thought my husband blocked the pagan forums i was going into but i can get on them my husband is sleeping and i dont know the password to block it its nearly 4.36 am i cant sleep any more i dont want to wake up my husband as he only had a few hours sleep i know should stay away from places like this
my voices and thoughts are telling me to go back there please help me stay away from them

Just visiting a pagan forum is not going to give you a one-way ticket to hell. It isn't wise, but don't let the fact you have gone there drive you to despair for your soul.

Try feeding your OCD impulses something positive like eastern orthodox chanting on youtube. Hopefully you will then get drawn into that and the pagan forums will fade from memory.

Thank you so much for your idea i will try that am about to head off to church soon its kinda going to be a busy day for me i have choir then , lunch then washing the dishes then a group family home by 4 pm but i woke up really early most likely ill be sleeping by 9 pm tonight am listening to the chants there beautiful
