Plants reproduce Asexually, without sex.
Actually they do reproduce sexually. The flower usually has the pistol and the stamen. I believe the pistol is the female organ and the stamen produce pollen, which is similar to sperm in animals. Some species have male plants and female plants. Then the bees go around and take pollen from flower to flower. This is why we talk about the "birds and the bees.". P. S. Please anyone don't hesitate to jump in if I made any errors. I think I last studied this 40 years ago.

I meant trees reproduce asexually, they bear fruit.

The fruit is from the flower being fertilized. That is why you don't get fruit wit hot bees. Ideally it would come from a different tree, but even if the pollen comes from the same plant it is not asexual reproduction. That is like a hydra which buds a new little hydra and it grows up into a genetic duplicate of the mother hydra. Most asexually reproduced creatures are not very complex, certainly not as complex as a tree.

I read that sometimes turkeys can lay a fertilized egg without contact with a male, but of course they could only lay female eggs. This would be a different thing though.

Fruit trees can reproduce asexually.

What do you think pollination is? It's sex. Asexual reproduction is when there is only one parent. That's not plants. The pollen is carried by the wind, bees, etc., from one plant to another plant.

What is mitosis?
Asexual reproduction of a cell. Fruiting involves meiosis, however. Edited to add: Apparently citrus trees reproduce Asexually but they are unusual in the plant kingdom. Are you saying the Tree of the knowledge of good and and evil was a Citron? (or they could be dandelions too I guess but I don't consider them a fruit).

You don't know what asexual reproduction is..
Asexual reproduction - Wikipedia
Asexual reproduction - Wikipedia
Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction by which offspring arise from a single organism, and inherit the genes of that parent only; it does not involve the fusion of gametes, and almost never changes the number of chromosomes.

What appears is going on is that you are looking at a fruit and thinking, "Oh, a seed! The seed comes from one tree, so that must be asexual reproduction." What you don't understand is that the seed is the embryo--it's a teeny tiny tree. The seed is produced by sexual pollination.

Research asexual reproduction before responding to me.
Please, please mercy. You've made an easy mistake to make. There's no flaw in not knowing if you've never been taught. But we are gently trying to teach you. You need to research plant sexual organs, the stamens and pistils and process of pollination. An apple tree does not reproduce by asexual reproduction, and all the research in the world isn't going to change that.

Asexual means simply without sex.

Mercy, you don't get to decide what asexual reproduction means. It is defined by science, and apple trees don't asexually reproduce. They have male parts and female parts. You don't have to have intercourse for it to be sexual.

You have zero credibility when you attempt to claim that mankind at any time what soever was capable of asexual reproduction. And yes, I am fully aware of what asexual reproduction is.
