When Nicodemus asked Jesus what must one do to be born again why did not Jesus tell him to make a decision?

Even Nicodemus knew enough to know that it was not up to him.

Does John MacArthur teach there aren't antichrists? I didn't hear that in the video.

I don't know. I don't think it is permitted to post what he teaches that is in error (serious error). It is however not difficult to find online. (there have been many exposes of his teachings, and others with him). Likewise many others unrelated, tickling ears and such - whenever people hear that the one they are following and had put their trust in is an unfaithful person, they don't like it and are often easily offended, so it is best to look it up online. There are a few for whom nothing is found - there is nothing in their teachings wrong, and nothing of substance against them. If , as is the case, you find something about anyone, keep it in prayer and 'resting' with Yahweh, UNTIL you see it verified BY THEIR OWN WORDS. As much as they try to hide the errors, they do eventually speak/post/preach them, and thus are seen in the open.

I was thinking about searching for a debate that John MacArthur is in, to give it a watch/listen. I'll keep my ears open and my heart open to Yahweh, indeed Yahweh willing.

I will say that it is not right to judge someone simply by what his detractors have to say about him.

The foremost man who is lied about on this earth is Yahushua Messiah Himself, and his detractors are not to be trusted.

I will say that it is not right to judge someone simply by what his detractors have to say about him.

Correct - go by what his own teachings in his own words say,
and realize that conservative bible believing men of God went to him to correct him when they saw things that needed correction, so the steps were taken according to and in line with Scripture, and instead of repenting , he got worse and worse over the years (for many years now, apparently)....

Good verse! I think it does contradict the video, in that the video doesn't take into account that the Atonement is not a ticket to keep sinning, and is not a determinant whether they go to the lake of fire or not, although certainly, like Peter says in 2 Peter 2:20-22, it would have been better for those who accept Christ to have never known the Way of Righteousness than for them to later reject the Holy Commandment.

This doesn't disqualify the notion that those who do accept and then later reject Christ were never chosen to begin with, simply that He died to cover their past sins also, making it even clearer to my mind that Yahweh is completely righteous when He sends them to the lake of fire.

One could probably learn much more from A good sermon then arguing on this site.

In several years asking others and posting the question on this and other ,
so far not one person was saved (no one reading had ever heard of one) by any internet conversations anywhere, forum or otherwise,
with one exception: after seeing all the confusion in online forums, one person said they decided to look into it themselves separate from forum(s), and discovered the truth on their own away from forum(s). As God's Word Says: if anyone seeks and keeps seeking, they will find the truth and the truth will set them free.
If someone hears a "good sermon" (and just where ?) , then they have to be convicted by Yahweh's Spirit in their heart, led to Godly Sorrow leading to repentance, and turn to and trust in God and rely on God thru Jesus and find the truth of and in God's Written Word ... ... ... ... ...

Of course, it is not the purpose and it is not written that people today would be saved or even helped by internet commerse/ transactions/ conversations , nor by sermons today actually, so like written in Kings somewhere (ch 22?) "all the people are without a leader, so tell them to go home" , or perhaps of the crowds and others: everyone is without a shepherd ..... every one is doing what they want to, what is right in their own eyes..... except for the remnant God picked for Himself.....

Hmmm..... for thought, I'd add the warnings of Scripture, God's Warnings, Jesus' Warnings....
yes, even if the Apostles themselves, "test everything", and remember what Jesus says about 'scholars',
and even better, what Jesus says about the Father's revelation of Salvation and who it is to (with God's Good Pleasure).
