Should Christians be politically united against abortion?
Well, when it comes to the Virginity of Mary, or TULIP, or OSAS, or pre-trib, these are things that I don't see as hills to die on. They are important enough I suppose, mostly a little confusing, and I am sure everybody has got their reasons.
When it comes to the slaughter of a third of each generations, the most cataclysmic genocide in all of history, yea, abortion is a hill to die on.
Okay fine, so there are Christians out there who think that abortion is just okay.
My own attitude toward them is that their faith has nothing to do with me.

I am the Life, says Jesus.

Choose Life.

Who supports the political goal of anti-abortion? The same people voting right now to increase the deficit by reducing taxes on people who already have lots and lots of money; the same people who share lie after lie to us; the same people who defund basic science, so they can get away with more lies; the same people who want to deport children raised in this country to places they've never known; the same people who promised a wall that would be paid for by the Mexicans; the same people who try to stop helping people with health care needs; the same people who want to dismantle our social safety nets; the same people who gerrymander our districts to unfairly elect more of their party; the same people who seek to make it harder for some voters to register and vote; the same people who think its crazy to allow refugees to attain safety in our country; the same people who think its more shocking to kneel during the national anthem than to tolerate racist police forces. How many blackbirds does your bird have to associate with before you realize you're stuck with another black bird?

All part of the hypocrisy of the so-called "pro-life" movement.

When it comes to outrage against poverty, hunger, lack of medical care, homelessness, etc. (all of which severely affect born babies and children as well as adults) all I usually hear are crickets or a lot of ranting about all of those "lazy" poor, greedy welfare moms and the like.

It seems all the supposed concern with life ends at birth.

I get it.
There are hundreds and thousands and millions of issues that are more important to you than the destruction of a third of each generation through abortion.
You despise the pro-lifers on oh so many levels that you won't even afford them the dignity of calling them pro-life rather than anti-abortion.

Are you trying to convince me that we are of the same faith? Obviously, you would not consider me to be "one of y'all". Abortion is just okay with you, relative to the evil wrought by pro-lifers.

This is your hill to die on too, except against those dastardly pro-lifers, and not with us. Your answer is that Christians should be politically united against pro-life.
Your position is as clear as the one I laid out, and diametrically opposed to it.

My position is that there is no unity possible between people that are diametrically opposed to each others most important goals. You make my case for me.

It wouldn't be biblical. Abortion was practiced in the world of the New Testament and in no place does the Bible, Old or New, condemn abortion.

Scriptural reference of abortion practice?

Typically what I hear
is objection to being compelled, by LAW, through TAXATION, to being forced to financially support abortions.

is objection of Doctors who do not want to perform abortions, but in instances are forced to participate.

I do not agree concern with life, ends at birth. However the birth of an other's child is their gift, for them to be the steward thereof, nor do I want the benefit or burden of any other gifts of others.

God Bless,

So lets get back to the question. Should Christians be united against abortion?

No.

Christians should be united in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and being good witnesses for others by serving others as Jesus did.

Turning Christianity into some right-wing political agenda is not what it's all about.

Does the right wing have anything you agree with?

If anything i would think abortion would be the one issue that could unite politically divided christians.

Do you say that about any political issue, or just abortion?

I have my views on various political issues, but I don't believe any of them are going to be able to achieve unity among Christians. Only Jesus can do so.

I'm actually not pro-abortion. (Most people aren't pro-abortion even if they are pro-choice.) However, there are many good reasons for keeping the procedure safe and legal and not in the hands of the government, while at the same time pursing other methods to reduce them and make them much rarer.

Thanks for the reply. So you are saying that Jesus is the way to unite christians against abortion?

Which States Are Hit Hardest By Failure To Fund Children’s Health Program

October 2, 2017

Over the weekend, Congress allowed funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which covers nearly 9 million children in low-income families, to lapse—failing to pass a reauthorization by Saturday’s deadline after spending most of the year attempting to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

..... According to an analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation, 48 of 50 states, including DC, assumed Congress would reauthorize CHIP when they wrote their 2018 state budgets. That mistaken trust in Congress is already having major consequences.

Which States Are Hit Hardest By Failure To Fund Children's Health Program
********************************************************************************
ProLife advocates are quick to lecture us about the sanctity of human life, but there is a "deafening silence " for the 9 million children from low income families who depend on the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for healthcare.

Republican politicians in the White House and Congress were supported by Prolife advocates in the hope of a Supreme Court appointment who opposed Roe v Wade - the 9 million children whose mothers followed their advice and chose to have full term pregnancies have effectively been abandoned!

Actions speak louder than words - the decision by the Republicans to allow funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to expire without incurring the wrath of ProLife supporters speaks volumes!

Actions speak louder than words and decision not to renew the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) in favor of tax cuts for the wealthy sends a powerful message to young young women as to this government's commitment concerning the health of children!
Im not a republican. My only political stance is on abortion. I dont stand in the way of funding anything.

My point is, scripture ignores abortion. There was abortion at the time scripture was being written, but we don't learn that from scripture, we learn that from history. So since it was present, it could easily have been condemned, and was not.

If the husband is supposed to love his wife as Christ loved the Church, dont you think parents should love their children instead of aborting them?

Oh, I would that all pregnant women would be rejoicing and seeking to have their unborn come to normal birth and become loved children. But when a potential mother would rather have an abortion, do you really think she is going to make a loving mother? Or to put it another way, certainly many of them would not.

A persons worth is not dependant on a mothers opinion. They have worth, even if their mother sees no worth in them.
