This is the very thing that makes many of us not want to be Republicans. You set up a dichotomy that isn't called for. I am not in favor of abortion and but not having abortions does not mean you have to later rape the non-aborted child, get her pregnant, then force her to have the baby. Sin is sin, man.

What you are doing is to claim moral superiority. Being accused of having consensual sex with a 14 year old is worse than murder. Actually Moore is accused of it. He has not been found guilty of it. So an accusation is more serious than murder. No I think your ideology drives you rather than the truth.

I don't support Moore at this time. I don't know if the accusations are true. If so, then I hope he is prosecuted. But until then he is a man being accused. He is not guilty. The seriousness of the charge does NOT trump the truth.

But you ought to be more consistent in you outrage. Otherwise you are hypocritical.

I actually didn't claim moral superiority. I just said I didn't think not having sex (how do you know it was consensual? I haven't actually seen anything that mentions her possible consent although her consent doesn't matter. She is too young) with a 14 year old is incompatible with not having an abortion, and the poster I was responding was very graphic and incorrect in his post to me. He suggested I was in favor of having seagulls eat aborted fetuses. Human parts would be a biohazard and seagulls would never be allowed to eat it. I found it offensive that it was implied to be in favor of seagulls eating aborted fetuses and embryos. I do not understand the link between abortion and having sex with children or trying to rape very young women, but I am not in favor of abortion. Now could we please keep abortion out of this thread? I find it irrelevant.

The point I'm trying to make is that there are lots of times where the only way to protect the public is to shoot the assailant. I wish that there was a way to stop police killing. Unfortunately, there are criminals that kill people for no understandable reason. Why did the Las Vegas killer shoot all of those people? Why did that guy go into that church in Texas and shoot all of those people? Until such time as nut jobs no longer climb towers and start shooting, the police will need their guns.

BTW, I am the first to defend the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, but there needs to be a better way of screening people.

I completely disagree. It is very difficult to make a complaint about sexual misconduct. A tutor committed a minor sex crime against my daughter recently. She told me because I have drilled it into her that she has to tell me if something happens. She would not press charges though, and it's because even being a victim of a sex crime is very shaming. I looked into it myself, but the legal aspects of it aren't easy either.

I am sorry about your daughter. But the only way to stop that problem is to report immediately, and then follow through. Even if your daughter doesn't want to press charges, that might not stop you from calling the service that provides the tutor, and tell them what happened

Yes, I did contact the tutoring company. Thanks for your concern. She's just turned 18 so the whole matter of trying to get her to press charges was frustrating.
