Would you be willing to give up any divisive theology, for the sake of unity?
I won't either.I would have to identify the input of the Holy Spirit as divisive, so no, I won't give it up.
I said any divisive theology, not necessarily all divisive theology however.I would have to identify the input of the Holy Spirit as divisive, so no, I won't give it up.

We could start by agreeing on what the narrow path is, and then rid ourselves of whatever is not the narrow path.Interesting question.
Here's my dilemma:
I would not change, alter, compromise ANYTHING i know that is in sync with what is taught in God's Word.
It is also written it is a narrow road that leads to Life everlasting. I'm sho' not gonna compromise with anything that got the one on that wide ol' road from the gitgo.
My take on it?
Follow what is taught in God's Word, trusting that the Holy Spirit is confirming what is being taught, praying it up, and loving and trusting God with ev'rything in me, and then let the chips fall where they may.
That is what is meant by putting our hands/feet to the "plow" and not lookin' back. Cuz in "lookin' back" it is written that we are not fit to be behind that plow.
Besides, we all know what happened to Lot's wife right?

John 17:23-24
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
Romans 6:5
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Unity is the absence of division and strife. In addition, what kind of "unity" specifically?

Not exactly. Im just wondering if there is anything, no matter how small, that people might give up for the sake of unity.i believe the question is:
Would you compromise for the sake of unity?

Yes. If however we were willing to give something up for the sake of unity, we would be closer to it.That's a good starting point. Of course that would depend on everyone being on the same "page" and unifying under Christ, etc. wouldn't it?
Whether or not there would be unity in that situation is debateable and i dont have the answer to that. There is "worldly" unity where "compromise" is inevitable for the sake of that "unity". There would be an absence of division and strife with this worldly unity, or "peace".
A verse comes to mind about crying out "peace" "peace" and there is no peace.

Im not referring to compromising with the world, nor having fellowship with them. Paul said we dont have agreement with unbelievers and should not be unequally yoked with them. Im more concerned with what goes on inside the Church.
