I'm pleased to have been able to avoid the stores since the "shopping season" began what - 9 days ago? Thankfully I discovered a little wal-mart neighborhood market that isn't busy - I can usually be back in the car in 5-10 minutes instead of 90.

We had Liturgy twice this week (I missed one) and Bible study, and even more coming up, so I'm going to try to be in Church instead of stores.

Traffic is awful. I got a coupon for a free game code and wanted to try one out, the box wasn't too far from being on the way home. But a normally 25 minute drive home became almost 2 hours to make the detour and finally get home. Are these folks only out between Thanksgiving and Christmas? LOL. Still better than LA.

I like quiet time at home this time of year.

And tomorrow being Saturday I should have my weekend cup of coffee.

Still having trouble catching up from a few days ago. We had several "extra" things going on at Church - so busy!

What gets me though are the kids in my Sunday school class. I'm still getting to know them. But I still remember and think about the children in my class at the Baptist church almost 20 years ago, though they are all grown up now.

This class is going to keep me on my toes. I have them for less than an hour, and this week they managed to bring up racism, what kind of people go to hell and why, and just what exactly was it that bothered Joseph about his Virgin Mary having a baby, and why was that unusual? Some of those details I don't feel like it's my place to address, lol.

It's walking a fine line giving them enough of an answer (that doesn't lead into more questions), but not too much of an answer.

These children are really curious about the nature of Angels vs. humans, and what exactly exactly happens after you die, and so on.

Our parish council will get settled, and our Nativity pageant will happen (probably with all sorts of cute little quirks), and the dinner will come together, the choir will manage the special songs, and everything else will come together. But these children will keep me on my toes, lol.

Lord have mercy.
