Church of Sweden to stop referring to God as 'he' or 'Lord'

I mean, I don't believe God is necessarily physically male or female, but this seems like a bit much. What are your thoughts?

Once God starts being portrayed in ways as female, then many things can be done to make HIM appear as something other than what HE is portrayed to be in scripture. God the Father being made into something in peoples' minds other than what scripture says. Then to no longer call him Lord is another thing. What is He now? Our equal?

As a Swede, I completely reject the Church of Sweden. They are doing just about everything these days to distort Scripture, pulling focus from the Cross and the true Jesus Christ, and there are so many false teachings and involvement of paganism in the church it's really hard to actually find anything redeeming about it. It has been almost completely taken over by the worldly, feminist socialist teachings.

God wants us to specifically call Him a He, or otherwise He would have taught us to call Him something else. He is our Father, not our mother, and this is His will. I fail to see how anyone who actually knows Him would want to do this. It's nothing but yet another false teaching.

This sounds more like the "divine feminine" to me, which is definitely gaining popularity.

Also goes along with the whole transgender/non-binary, choose your own pronoun mentality. It's simply offensive now to have any absolutes or solid truth, and such an attitude has definitely infiltrated the Church.

We should not be going beyond how God has chosen to reveal Himself to us in His word.

Can you explain this statement with scripture please?
No, I cannot quote Scripture, as you wish, and I have no problem with those of you who are concerned about this matter. Also, like most people, I tend to view God as a Father in Heaven. However, I just see no real harm in seeing him as a mother, as well as a father. After all, I doubt that God has a sexual identity like humans or animals do. Does it somehow harm our faith to quit referring to God as Father? I guess that is up to each person. It should not make much difference one way or the other, as long as we love God and keep His commandments.

Yes, because they start heading towards the 'divine feminine' like the ELCA has done, especially out in California.

I guess I have no real knowledge of this 'divine feminine' within the ELCA, especially in California. It sounds like this is going to be another source of contention between the ELCA and the LC-MS, let alone the WELS.

They pray to the mother goddess, Sophia, etc. etc. This one pastor of theirs that had a 'communion' where they had raisin cakes to the "Queen of Heaven." Which one this was, I forget, but I believe that it was the one who has a ton of tattoos and she swears during sermons.

Well, that does seem to be a little "over the top". I do not know where they got the Sophia reference. As to the Queen of Heaven, Catholics usually consider Mary to be Queen of Heaven, so that would be a surprise to them.

They aren't using it for Mary. They got the raisin cake thing from Scripture, which are also called Asherah Cakes. Guess the title Asherah was given by her followers?
