I hope you and your family are looking forward to a meaningful Thanksgiving! Over the last week, I’ve spent some time reflecting on how much we have to be thankful for at Open Doors. We're often blown away by God's blessings! Thank you for letting God use you to be His hands and feet to His global church. Here are just a few of the people you’ve reached and stories that you’ve helped bring to life.

We continue to be thankful for the increasing reports of Muslims in the Middle East trusting in Jesus. Throughout Iraq and Syria, pastors there are sharing stories of eternities being changed. Muslim background believers are growing the church in Iraq and Syria...

A Modern-Day Apostle
At 72, Open Doors volunteer Norm Pankop isn’t slowing down. For the last four years, he has rallied the church he attends to send Bibles to persecuted believers and recently mobilized the congregation of 150 to write letters to underground believers in North Korea. “’It is more blessed to give than to receive,’ and ‘my cup runneth over’ are more than pleasant thoughts to me,” Norm says. “… These truths have to be practiced before one can believe them.”

Perseverance in the Eye of the Storm
In Vietnam, becoming a Christian—especially sharing your testimony—is a life or death decision. Still, believers like 28-year-old Vang Atu and his family, continue to point others to the gospel. He is thankful for the prayers of many who encourage him and his family to walk out their faith in dangerous condition.

The first article is just Wow! Praise the Lord more Arab Muslims coming to Christ. I served three tours in Iraq and am glad now to see Christ proclaimed there.

God Bless.

Excellent article.

When you are persecuted, you see it’s not you who is strong but He who is with you.”

For our partner organization, there is only one church in Iraq, like there is only one church in the whole world. “We might have many churches in the West and in Iraq, but we should focus on only one thing – our faith in Jesus. When we focus on that, we can do miracles. Even a small faith can change many things, it can change the world.”

Indeed. That last point is something many Christians in the West might consider.
