I invite wife's and husbands to contribute here, although it is more aimed at women's role within a Christian household.

I would like to begin the thread to include our daily service to our Lord, as well as the way in which we keep our house, home and husbands.

So far today, I have dedicated time for bible study (5am - 7am) and prayer (7am - 7.30am).
Day to day, I like to ensure that my family is taken care of. My role is very traditional, I do all of the housework and child care, whilst my husband is focused on finances and work outside the home.

I have a few questions for you all:

How do you ensure that your family makes time for God?
How do you ensure a peaceful and welcoming environment within the home for your husband?
How do you ensure your children serve God in a positive way?

Thank you for reading.

(Edited to add: I believe I may of posted this in the wrong section! Please forgive and move if required).

Hi; your prayerful Bible reading habit is so important; and is a wonderful foundation for you. Are you able to read God's Word and pray regularly with your husband also?

How do you ensure that your family makes time for God?

I support my husband's involvement in his church (just as he supports my involvement in my church; we aren't members of the same church). That can be time consuming; he's the treasurer for his church, as well as a musician, but I try not to interfere with the time it needs. He manages his own prayer time and devotional reading, but he does come to the Bible study I host. It makes it easier for us both to be there by having it in our home.

My daughter is still very young (just turned six) and has autism, so "time for God" for her is really mostly an extension of our time for God. She goes to church. We have prayer time at bedtime. We make a point of reading Bible stories and talking about prayer and about God.

How do you ensure a peaceful and welcoming environment within the home for your husband?

I'm not sure I think about my role in those terms, nor do I think that's something he expects. We work together to manage the tasks of life, domestic as well as other. He works less than me and has primary housekeeping responsibilities, but I try to do a bit more than I might to support him in that way.

I think, for my husband, what he wants more than me managing the home environment is shared down time. If he had a choice between me finding the time to clean something, and finding the time to do something with him, he'd choose my company most of the time.

How do you ensure your children serve God in a positive way?

Like I said, she's young, and autism makes things more complicated. I try to involve her in our serving God. I try to focus on building good character. She seems fairly generous and kind so far, so I'm hoping that as she grows we will be able to give her more opportunities to direct that generosity and kindness beyond our household.

Our roles aren't traditional, really, but we got to this point from our desire to be obedient to where God was leading us, and for the moment it seems to be working well.
