It’s indeed a sad day for Australia in that 61 percent of Australians have now voted to allow same-sex “marriage”. As 69.5 percent of the population voted in this non-compulsory plebiscite it means that the vast majority of Australians have failed to support the institution of the family.

Its not legal in God's eyes. That's all that matters.

It's going to be another hurdle for the next generations of God's Children to walk through.

Thank God He will lead the way through the valley of the shadow of death.

It's the darkest before the dawn.

May Christ Jesus come soon, until then we have fruit to produce.

I had a feeling this would be the outcome. So many people are misled by/in favor of the darkness, it seems. :( Praying that God's light will show everyone the way.
Yes, I actually presumed that the No vote could maybe make it over the line and to discover that so many Australians decided to endorse darkness and anti-family behaviour certainly shocked me.

And also with multiculturalism, immigration etc things are changing, its to be expected.

It's the darkest before the dawn.

Indeed, soon the sun will rise and Christ will come back and take us to him.

In paradise there will be no more evil, viciousness nor death, only peace, joy and adoration of the lamb.

Glory to Christ, glory to Christ forever!

I didn't vote on this plebiscite.

I'm done with this country.

I had no motivation to even try, its been obvious to me that this country wants to live by the law of the land, not the Law of God.

In public this is a justice issue and I am gratified that the majority of Australians have treated it as such. In the private this is a moral issue. If one does not wish to be involved in any way in a same sex marriage, then don't. As a Canadian, same sex marriage has not impacted my marriage in any way whatsoever and I cannot think of any possible way that it could. In this case, justice has prevailed.

I wonder how many other Australians thought much the same as you did. Even though I can understand how you feel, if maybe enough people voted for Righteousness then we might have seen a different outcome?

To be honest, I certainly did not wear any NO VOTE stickers or have any on my car as I was simply too afraid as there are many hate groups out there who want to see the family destroyed and who have a known record for attacking those who disagree with them.

I'm repenting for it.

I was hoping the no vote would win, but I'm not surprised it didn't.

When we consider the state of the world at this particular point of time, I can understand why quite a few have decided within their own localised regions that we may as well let the world do its thing.

Millions die each year because of the collective greed of modern society. I think who marries who is one of the last things we need to worry about, especially so from a faith perspective.

Hi biblicist,

I agree, that for believers, it's sad to see these things happening in the world. Just as so much other wickedness that is allowed free reign by the laws of men. But, it certainly isn't unexpected, according to what the Scriptures say about the general direction of mankind as we move inexorably towards the day of Christ's return. Not only do they do such wicked things but they also approve of those who do.

God bless,
In Christ, ted

The interesting thing for many of us who spent our youth within say the 1970's, is that both Christians and non-Christians shared many of the same moral and ethical values, at least publicly, whereas today, we even have church-goers who are now supporting values that were being secretly promoted by the worst elements within our secular societies of that particular time period.

Hi biblicist,

But know this one thing, the appearing of our Lord will not happen until there comes a falling away.

was it it 61.6% answered "yes" and 38.4% answered "no" to the survey question. No one voted, the survey was a very expensive opinion poll and now the parliamentarians will do the voting and either change the marriage act and the definition of marriage act or they will not. The number of people who answered the survey was a little above 80% of enrolled voters not 69.5% as the original post appears to suggest.

Hi gingerbeer,

While it wasn't an official ballot vote, pretty much all the reports are saying that the national postal 'survey' was a 'vote' of the people. Sometimes when a crowd of people are gathered together and asked how they feel about something, it's often referred to as a 'vote'. I don't think the word 'vote' must necessarily mean that someone goes to an official polling place to flip a switch.

God bless,
In Christ, ted
