DAY 11 / DEUTERONOMY 11 / 'Behold I set before you today a blessing and a curse. The blessing,if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God,which I command you today. And the curse if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD your God,but turn aside from the way I command you today,to go after other gods that you have not known' (Deuteronomy 11:26-28)

DAY 12 / DEUTERONOMY 12 / ' All idolatry must be driven out of the Promised Land after crossing over' 'The dearest idol I have known,whate're that idol be. Help me to tear it from Thy throne and worship only Thee'

DAY 13 / DEUTERONOMY 13 / 'Serve and obey only God forsaking all false prophets'

a wonderful promise from God is Romans 10:
3 For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law.

4 For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.

In reading the laws in Deuteronomy, the laws come to me as promises because of what Jesus did, I am able to keep his commandments, I don't need to brake his laws, my desire is to please him. It is wonderful to read these verses in a completely different way. How wonderful!

DAY 14 / DEUTERONOMY 14 / God's people are a holy people to the LORD,your God and a people chosen for Himself,a special treasure above all the peoples of the earth' (Deuteronomy 14:3)

DAY 15 / DEUTERONOMY 15 / 'Instructions for sacrifices and festivals'. God wants to bless His people (Deuteronomy 15:4-6 / Deuteronomy 15:10/Deuteronomy 15:18) There must be complete obedience to Him,which leads to blessing,but disobedience leads to curse.

DAY 16 / Deuteronomy 16 / 'Review of the Passover and other festivals'.Wealth of significance to the Jewish people. We learn as we look into their meaning. Just as God brought Israel out of slavery and bondage in Egypt,so we as God's spiritual elect have been brought out of darkness and sin into God's marvellous light!

DAY 17 / Deuteronomy 17 / 'Justice and Kings'. Laws were established for the Children of Israel. The Holy God could not tolerate sin or worshipping idols and there were severe consequences for disobedience.

DAY 18 / Deuteronomy 18 / 'Provision for the Priests and Levites'. These special servants of the LORD were to be cared for by the Tribes of Israel,as they served the people spiritually.

DAY 19 / Deuteronomy 19 / 'Cities of refuge'. Places where justice could be administered. Thank God that Christ is now our refuge and in Him we can hide.

DAY 20 / Deuteronomy 20 / 'Instructions' Instructions for the Children of Israel when living in the Promised Land

DAY 21 / DEUTERONOMY 21; DEUTERONOMY 22; DEUTERONOMY 23; DEUTERONOMY 24; DEUTERONOMY 25 /'Justice and war,family quarrels,sexual purity and general integrity'

DAY 22 / Deuteronomy 26 / 'Giving an offering of the first fruits and the tithe.' These are an act of gladsome worship and a witness to God's Faithfulness and Provision.

DAY 23 / Deuteronomy 27 / 'Building an altar'. Instructions about building an altar on Mount Ebal and the importence of obedience and the consequences of disobedience.

DAY 24 / Deuteronomy 28 / 'Blessings for the obedient'.The LORD will cause your enemies,who rise up against you to be defeated before your face. They shall come out before you one way and flee before you seven ways'. The LORD will command the blessing upon you,in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand and He will bless you in the land,which the LORD your God is giving you'.'The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself...if you keep the commandments of the LORD God and walk in His ways'. Then all peoples of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD...' You will be the head and not the tail..if you heed.. 'But there is a curse on disobedience....'

DAY 25 / Deuteronomy 29 / 'A review of Israel's exodus from Egypt through to the plains of Moab'. God's Covenant is renewed in Moab. There is a warning to Israel of what would happen if they turned away from the LORD.

DAY 26 / Deuteronomy 30 / 'God was completely committed to His covenant people just as He is completely commited to us. Moses explained the choice the Children of Israel had between life and death. We all have that choice. To have Christ is life. To not have Christ is death. May we all choose Christ and life!

DAY 27 / Deuteronomy 31 / 'Moses comes to the end of his life and ministry. He hands over to Joshua the leadership of the Children of Israel,exhorting them to keep on obeying God.

DAY 28 / Deuteronomy 32 / 'Understanding the covenant'. 'God tells Moses of His approaching death'

DAY 29 / Deuteronomy 33 / Moses blesses each tribe of Israel,apart from Simeon to be absorbed by Judah. It is a happy chapter of blessings. 'Happy are you,O Israel! Who is like you,a people saved by the LORD,the shield of your hep and the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you and you shall tread down their high places' (Deuteronomy 33:29)
