I've read it several times already, maybe you can point something out?

And the people (Goats) in the scripture of the sheep and the goats that ended up in hell for not doing their works? How bout them? Bet you don't answer that. :)

It burns everyone up who would rather not do as they should. It surely burned the goats up. And for you to put out there that by trying to please God we will go to hell? I think I might take a very close look at my own backyard, and what I was teaching, very close.

And after you comment or don't answer that, and since I showed you where those that don't do certain works do go to hell, please tell us where in the bible it states people that do those works are sent to hell as you claim?

My comments are based straight out of Matthew 23, where Jesus asks how could they ever possible not be sentenced to hell for what they do.

As for the sheep and goats, that separation is made prior to any of their deeds being examined (and isn't actually relevant to my point).

If you want to defend legalism that all who adhere to it will end up in hell for believing and preaching a false gospel, that's on you. I wouldn't recommend it.

Easter involving the celebration of a bunny with baskets full of chocolate is the celebration of fertility. There is no denying that. We as believers should stick to celebrating the resurrection of Christ and not imitate the secular things of this world. Granted, I believe we as believers should strive to be holy and separate and not imitate the world in any way, but it takes time for believers to mature in Christ.

Meanwhile, after little Jimmy gets his Easter basket, Mommy and Daddy says it's time for churchservices and then the CHURCH'S Easter Egg Hunt.

*Gasp*, the church is committing a sin and they don't even know it! [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], they don't even realize it *eye roll*. Clergy apparently supports it, too. But who are you to say they are in the wrong when an entire community partakes in something that's not a sin? Oh, apparently some stranger on an Internet message board is going to say otherwise.

But hey, at least they are making up for it by being regular church attendees and doing all other things Christian. ;-)

Maybe I should butt out but why start now. :) FWIW, you didn't even indicate that you were trying to get anyone to bow to your will. That's a common comeback to make you feel guilty about teaching the truth and it rarely if ever is really the case. It's at best, how some people "choose" to see it, at worst they know better but claim it just the same.

Kind of like the "who are you to judge me?" comeback when all one might be doing is speaking the truth, and the person who doesn't want to/and or is not abiding by the truth, is offended and shoots the messenger.

Common stuff, and you are likely aware of all that but just in case...don't worry about it.

Thank you for your kind words.
May God bless you in all good you do for Him.

It is silly to say that one is a sheep or goat by one's nature alone. A person is a sheep or goat based on what they do in the end. But sheep can be lost because Jesus left many sheep to find just one lost sheep. Then there are these babies (i.e. passages).

Psalms 74:1 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

Psalms 95:6-11 "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Jeremiah 23:1 "Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!", saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 50:6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.

Jeremiah 50:17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

st.pattys day

St. Paddy's or St. Pat's. Patty is the diminutive of Patricia, which is the feminine form of Patrick (or Patricius). The diminutive of Patrick is Pat or Paddy. The Feast Day of St. Patrick remembers the life of the saint who was stolen away and sold into slavery into Ireland, who later managed to escape, return to Britain, where after becoming a bishop returned to his former captors in order to proclaim to them the glorious message of the Gospel which they heard and received gladly.

When you put on the image of a witch, or devil, you are role playing to be that thing. You are pretending to be evil. God does not want us to fantasize in being like sinful people or sinful beings. For just lusting after a woman (i.e. fantasy) is cause for someone to be cast into hellfire bodily.
You mean, you can't repent?

But let's say you are right (even though I know you are not right) in the fact that Halloween is a Christian holiday in origin.
I have presented historical evidence...
It is not that way now.
Then the solution is to get back to its origin, not to stop honoring our saints.
It is known for celebrating things that are dark and evil. Walk into any grocery store during October and look at the billboards on street highways. You will see zombies, death, witches, ghosts, goblins, etc. Even horror movies are big business during the month of October. You cannot do anything to change this by doing your own thing.
It's not that hard to do your own thing...just avert your eyes and your mind. The question is, who's in control? You or those things?
People will simply not care or see a difference between what you are doing and what everyone else does. But in reality (Whether you see it or not), there is no difference between your version of Halloween and the world's version of Halloween. It's the same thing. But God calls us to be holy and separate.
Well, here's the thing. I choose not to celebrate Halloween that way, but by praying, fasting, and going to Mass. I don't celebrate ANY holy days the way the secular world celebrates.
But let's look at another perverted holiday-Memorial Day. I know! At first you say "How is Memorial Day a perverted holiday? Well, let me ask you! How do most people celebrate Memorial Day. Most people have barbecues, drink and just enjoy the day off from work. This is a perversion of the day. What is the Holiday? It's a day to remember our fallen dead in the military. And yet almost nobody goes to a military cemetery, or a real parade for such celebration. The question is, should we do away with it, since folks have lost sight of the reason for the holiday? Or should we celebrate, those few of us who do, the way it was meant to be-to honor those fallen heroes?

I have talked with atheists here before, but I do not argue with them endlessly. They are not looking for answers for God. They are looking to mock God. I tell them of the good news of Jesus on occasion, but I mostly seek to avoid them because they are not open to the things of God.

As for them knowing what the Bible says: They have no understanding of it. It is a spiritual book that needs to be spiritually discerned. I do not even see them knowing the letter of Scripture all that well, either. I know verses by heart more than they do, I guarantee you (Unless they have a photographic memory or something).

The point is that they do not know the Bible.

For "...the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men." (1 Corinthians 1:25).

No. It means not to love the world system and the things that are created by that world system.
You're right, they have no understanding like you and I do. But they know what it says.

Gen 2:3 - Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
The seventh day is the Sabbath. Jesus rose on Sunday, the eighth day. The first day of the week, as Scripture tells us.
Mark 16:9 Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.

John 20:1-2

Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and saw the stone already taken away from the tomb. So she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him."

Matthew 28:1

Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.

Mark 16:1-2

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him. Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.

Acts 20:7

On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.

1 Corinthians 16:1-2

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also. On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come.

I have a special hatred for legalism. It burns me up inside when I hear people talking about the need to maintain salvation through works. Such people not only end up in hell, but take people with them. I hate it and will not tolerate those who teach it.

I haven't found that costume yet.

I believe the Pharisees are a good example of legalism. It was all primarily about law with no real mercy or grace (See the Parable of the Tax Collector and the Pharisee). They tried to make it all about Law but they themselves did not keep the most important part of God's laws (Like love, faith, justice, and mercy - See Matthew 23:23, Luke 11:42). Paul condemned this false way of thinking. Paul also condemned the following of the ceremonial laws for salvation within the Old Written Law like circumcision, etc. For Paul said, "what profit is there in circumcision?" (Romans 3:1). Paul said, "if you seek to be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing." (Galatians 5:2). So Paul condemned one trying to justify themselves by Law alone without God's grace (Jesus) and Paul condemned the following of the ceremonial laws within the Old Law. Paul did not condemn the following of God's eternal moral laws that carried on into the New Testament that ARE also necessary for salvation (Which is in harmony with God's saving grace). Note: God's moral laws would be things like: Do not murder, do not covet, do not steal, do not commit adultery, etc. (Which is the same as loving your neighbor).

Paul says if any man speaks contrary to the words of Jesus Christ and the doctrine of Godliness, he is proud and he knows nothing (1 Timothy 6:3-4). So when a person says they condemn legalism, are they saying they condemn the idea that we are not saved in any way shape or form by keeping God's laws? No doubt you will say .... "yes." But if I say "Does that means you can be an ax murdering rapist and still be saved because you have a belief on Jesus?" You would of course say.... "no." (Even though some Eternal Security proponents would say... "yes"). So this means that you believe works or holiness is necessary for salvation but you are caught in a feed back loop or a circle of contradiction that you cannot explain properly. For nobody can be a practicing ax murdering rapist and believe in Jesus and be saved.

But if keeping God's laws that tell you to not be an ax murdering rapist as a part of God's salvation, then by all means, you are free to get mad for keeping those laws as a part of God's saving grace.

I believe in works inspired by our faith through grace.

Yes. This is true. I also believe works are necessary for salvation. They are primarily God directed works done through the believer and not man directed works alone. For there is none good but God.

Not really forbidden, but based on their pagan origins, I'd say the days we shouldn't want to follow would be

Halloween, Christmas, Easter, April Fools, sunday "sabbath" and days like valentines day, st.pattys day, things like that. We should desire to do the things our Father asked of us in His Moadim (appointed times).
The birth of Christ, the Resurrection of Christ are based on pagan origins? Regarding the Sabbath, nobody thinks Sunday is the Sabbath. Sabbath is Sabbath, Sunday is the Lord's Day.
So feasts and times like
Passover, unleavened bread, first fruits, pentecost, trumpets, atonement, sukkot, and the biblical sabbath, as well as the sabbaths that correspond with the feasts that I just wrote about.
So you are a devotee of Judaism?

I need a little more info. than that. Explain what your talking about please.
You can't be a 'bad person', then be sorry for your ways, and stop? Like the good thief on the Cross?
