I agree with all of this except the world, or at least the people of the world being "dead" to us... Does that mean we should not care...?

the idea of the true God embedded in the world is not passing (away), but lasts for ever; the kingdom of the wicked one is what(the world that) is passing away - after all, the true God is the One That created the world, and everything He creates lasts for ever

Ecclesiastes 3:14 "I know that, whatever God does, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God does it, that men should fear before him."
