Isaiah 47:14-15 The Message...
“Fat chance. You’d be grasping at straws that are already in the fire, A fire that is even now raging. Your ‘experts’ are in it and won’t get out. It’s not a fire for cooking venison stew, not a fire to warm you on a winter night! That’s the fate of your friends in pharmaca, your magician buddies you’ve been in cahoots with all your life. They reel, confused, bumping into one another. None of them bother to help you.”
Many read scriptures with an eye on the past, thinking it is not applicable in many parts for what is happening all around us today. Pharmaca is one of those 'accepted" authorities which many believers believe. But it is part of the fulfillment of scripture...
G5331 φαρμακεία Transliteration pharmakeia Pronunciation fär-mä-kā'-ä φαρμακεύς (G5332)
Vine's Expository Dictionary: sorcery (2x), witchcraft (1x).
Outline of Biblical Usage G5332; medication ("pharmacy"), i.e. (by extension) magic (literally or figuratively):—sorcery, witchcraft.
But lets take a closer look at this Revelation from God... and think a little deeper on the implications...
Rev 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries G5331 were all nations deceived.
First thing I notices was that God's Holy Spirit no longer dwells within, and the second is that it is deceptive but useful for the merchants of the world. So my question is, what kind of medication is it that causes people to lose the ability to hear the Holy Spirit. Is it the ultimate blasphemy? Is it a drink?
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
So what is in the drink and why is it called a sin?
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
