Christ is supposed to be alive within us, and we have 'put on Christ', yet He is perceived by many as something outside (of us) and separate...some other place up in the sky...Why?

Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Also in the wonderful wordings of the Gospel of John, which each of us will want to read through, taking our time, since we are reading eternal words. Words of His that will last forever, even after heaven and Earth have passed away.

What do you suppose Jesus meant when He said this:

"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

For such wonderfully interesting verses, I like to always carefully read context -- all the surrounding and lead-in verses.

But even then, we sometimes will want to know about translation also.

I also like to go and see a variety of the best translations, including also the literal word for word ones also. Here's a good site, and at the bottom of this page with all the major translations, you also see commentaries (more than one), and also a link to more, and in that link to more, you also get word for word greek translation notes, and more. The link below usually fetches back the NIV translation, but it's not a link to the NIV in particular, but to all major translations.

Luke 17:21 nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst."
(note: this link is to more than 2 dozen major translations and commentaries and word for word analysis and more (the link at the bottom of the commentaries on the page to more "Luke 17.21 commentaries"))

For context, I often will use the ESV --

The Coming of the Kingdom

20Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed, 21nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.”h

22And he said to the disciples, “The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23And they will say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or ‘Look, here!’ Do not go out or follow them. 24For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.i 25But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.26Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, 29but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all— 30so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.31On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. 32Remember Lot’s wife. 33Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. 34I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed. One will be taken and the other left. 35There will be two women grinding together. One will be taken and the other left.”j 37And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the corpsek is, there the vulturesl will gather.”

So, from above in post #5, my interpretation is that the Kingdom of God arrives among us as we believe, listen and follow Christ. Like a preview in a way. It's not the full glory yet, and not the fullness (fullness as also worded in 1 Cor chapter 13) that will come, but it's (a part?) of the Kingdom, already here within and (even) among us.

Indeed "in the midst" ...a tree and a garden relate to this truth as it pertains to us.

His glory fills the whole earth and He fills all in all. How we perceive this changes as we move from five senses perceiving to spiritually awakening from a deep slumber ...change of eyesight as happened in the garden when Adam and Eve were kicked out and the way to the tree of life guarded...

More glory is coming. On that day every knee will bow, because it will be that strong and overwhelming.

We are the temple of God, not made with human hand...the dwelling place of God. We must become blind to 'see' the truth that we are IN Christ. One. Many say these things, yet see Him as something outside/not within...separate...two...which all goes back to the garden and what we are being reconciled to...from the beginning.

John 17 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Is it possible to realize His Kingdom and glory in all its fullness now? He can only give us what we can see as possible...

Well. I do know we can experience Christ. About the wording "all its fullness", being at times very literal I think of that meaning additionally when He come on the clouds, and that overwhelming glory then. I also treasure John chapter 17 deeply. It is very holy to me.

For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

This is a good topic because if many would grasp this( Him in us) when they pray and believe(as One) would it not come to pass. This is why He said "And greater things than this will you do" This is how the mountain is cast into the sea. He has given us all that we need (Himself) to accomplish all that He ask of us. He did it for us, and He will do it through us. We need only believe.

Amen! Mountain cast into the see and handle serpents (in our garden) - the evil one toucheth him not.

Looking to the physical (clouds, sky, world/ly signs) the kingdom cannot be found. Looking within, clouds pertain to perceiving/seeing...

"For this reason He says,

“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine [as dawn] upon you and give you light.” " (Amp)

What happened in the garden...no physical death (die)...but she 'saw' something other than what God desired...
But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.

And in relation to our soul, trial/tribulation, shadow and light (perceiving from) as the truth that we are, spiritually speaking...whether we can 'see' it or not.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.
15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

You are what you eat. Assimulating the word of God, digesting it well, eliminating all worldly factors; that which came from outside becomes that which lives within.

John 6:57
As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever eats me lives because of me.
