I also feel like I can relate to you on this. I often feel lost and confused, like I don't know myself at all. It can be very disheartening. I know you're looking for a solid answer, something you can grasp and understand right now, but sometimes it just takes time. Trust is the first step. Trust that God means what he says when he says you belong to him. That is your identity. It lies with him.

Here are some of my favorite verses for when I'm feeling this way:

"Be still and know that I am God." Psalms 46:10

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalms 46:1

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5

"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" 1 John 3:1

I will be praying for you!

God bless.

Maybe you're trying to address which spiritual gifts you have?

You remember the law: do unto others as they would do unto you?

Ask yourself: what do you like/love that others do for you? what makes you happy? what do others like about you that makes them happy? I'm talking about acts of kindness, not necessarily hobbies.

What triggers you? If you ever watched a movie, music, art. What responses do you get. What makes you tick? Write it down. Write everything down.

Indeed, pray and ask God for revelation. Ask honestly. (Seek and you will find).

Start simple. If you like coffee, take a friend out for a coffee and talk about coffee. You'd be surprised at how much there is to learn about it. This applies to everything.

If it is spiritual gifts, then you will have to act on them through faith. For example, discernment. Are you highly analytical? Perhaps obsessive about small things? And so forth. Ask a lot of questions. Read the bible and ask.

For example. Adam and Eve had sons: Cain, Abel, Seth. Did you ever ask yourself what their daughters names were? How many were there? (As far as I can tell from Apocrypha there are at least 2 - Azura and Awan). What did Eve look like? Adam? I suspect Adam must have been the epitome of man. 240 pounds of muscle and fit. Then again, maybe not right?

Ask.

If E = mc2 then we can divide and conclude that...

Mass (m) = Energy (E/c2)

And there are three varieties...

Natural E/c2 - All mass is basically cooled plasma
Mental E/c2 - Mentally, A mathematical formula, but this has chemical and spiritual properties as well.
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

I would seek material to build the appropriate motivation, warmth, love, faith, hope, charity, joy and you will find yourself.

"Are you bored with life? Then throw yourself into some work you believe in with all your heart, live for it, die for it, and you will find happiness that you had thought could never be yours."- Dale Carnegie

How do you lose yourself? Because I feel like I lost apart of myself already. I know we shouldn't let others define us but I feel like that's what I do.
Did something happen or has someone made you feel like you've lost a part of yourself? Just wondering if you have thoughts or reasons why you feel so lost?

How do I find myself? Do I seek within myself? I'm so confused..its like I don't know who I am
Hi Jenniferdiana. My name is Christina. :)
I had a very difficult relationship a few years ago and felt like I had lost a lot of myself in going through that. It helps to surround yourself with people who are like who you would aspire to be. I don't mean to try and be like other people but to associate with people who have similar values and interests. I hope I am making sense.
Another thing that helps is to pray pray pray. Really talk to Him. He will help shape you.

How do you serve God? Maybe it could be a simple but much needed task like cleaning in the church, or maybe the welcoming committee, or being on the door welcoming people, or singing in the worship team, or being part of the prayer team or loads of other things.

Following a church split in my church, the pastor having to leave and a new one coming in I had a spell of a few years I felt like that. You could try to find a ministry outside of the church you could do as I did with the homeless.

You find yourself and God at the same time, that's how I did it.

Matthew chapter 4 verse 4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
Romans chapter 1 verse 28
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

John chapter 8 verse 31,32
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, " If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
2 John
9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
Job chapter 23 verse 12
I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.

Matthew 11
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Luke chapter 21
33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Romans chapter 10
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Mark chapter 13
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
James chapter 1
25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
James chapter 4
8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Isaiah chapter 45 verse 19
I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob's descendants, 'Seek me in vain.' I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.
Jeremiah chapter 9
24 but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know me,
that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,”
declares the Lord.
Jeremiah chapter 5 verse 1
5 “Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem,
look around and consider,
search through her squares.
If you can find but one person
who deals honestly and seeks the truth,
I will forgive this city.
Psalm 119 verse 114
You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.

The Bible doesn't say to seek yourself, but seek the Lord (Matthew 6:33; Isaiah 55:6; Jeremiah 29:13). Lord, help us to seek You, instead of listening to Satanic suggestions of putting ourselves first (Genesis 3:1-5; Matthew 4:3-10). For to me to live is Christ (not self), You had Paul remind us of in Philippians 1:21. From Psalm 16:8 we see that You should be our priority, not ourself. (I have set the Lord always (first) before me;...). Oh God, may we choose the best way, by putting You first in our lives, rather than self. Amen.

Every person has failed and made mistakes. You are no worse than anyone else. Admit you sins and pour out your heart to Jesus. Then trust Him keeping your eyes and thoughts on Him and not yourself or your shortcomings. Believe the promises of scripture over your own thoughts which condemn you. The truth of the Bible is that if Jesus is your Savior your sins are forgiven and you are a child of God, loved by God. The thought that you are worthless is a lie from the enemy.

Great question.

The self that you are looking for is you in your resurrected mind state, when you receive your name on the white stone. This can only be accomplished through faith in Jesus Christ, and the renewing of your mind through The Holy Spirit.

I pray that you would receive Him now, and be revealed His Great Gospel in full Glory.

There are many voices saying,

WHO ARE YOU
WHO ARE YOU

These are not your voice. These are not The Lord.

These are false and you must repeat after me:

"Unclean spirits have no dominion here, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ they MUST LEAVE!"

The Lord has known you before He even put you in your mother's womb. Should you want to know who you will be, only NOW read and learn of Jesus. His Spirit is going to teach you how to be more like Him every day if you listen and walk in grace. That means no judgement of yourself. You are commanded to love yourself, in Jesus Name. Amen

I'll second that.

Isaiah chapter 45 verse 19

Indeed. Nicely done. Isaiah would have been a great person to talk to about this. There is such a striking confidence in his spoken approach.
Yeah, read the book of Isaiah. So glad you brought that up.

For me, coming out of nihilism for 20 years, of course Ecclesiastes (how fitting right?).
Not necessarily for the beginner. For those searching to get out of darkest blackness (Jude 1:13), Ecclesiastes is a jewel.

Dear Jennifer

One day we will know who we are but:

1 Corinthians 13:12 NIV
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

We only know in part who we are and why we are here, we only know in part now.

Later we will know in full.

Not sure. I do not know so much about who I am or even what I am. :)

But. We are not Christ. And we are Christ. When John heard Christ speak on the island of Patmos, he heard a voice from a vast many people from many nations. You probably were one of those voices.

At the end of Revelation, John is informed not to worship The One who was narrating the story to him, but that this was but an angel and a fellow servant Christ. And in the next breath, Jesus speaks in the first person again through the Jesus, as in, "I, Jesus, sent my angel to you..."

Point being, we are like a skype of Christ, or even a forum account persona. Or a phone that relays a voice of a daddy to a child, where that daddy is far away. Daddy is not the phone, nor in the phone. But that is daddy speaking.

Is this a strange thing? Impersonal? Objectified? Perhaps. But, "we have the mind of Christ".

And the mind of Christ is full of many very glorious things. Many, many glorious things. More then can be counted.

You need to bear fruit as a Christian. The times I have felt like this have been when there is no fruit in my life. Its good to read your bible, pray etc but I see this as fertilising the tree as in this parable. It is the fruit that you ultimately need and for me the feeling of being lost is what I interpret as my spirit being ready to bear fruit and produce good works unto the Lord.
