A few of us have expressed a desire for accountability when it comes to health and fitness. I think making it a game and sharing our results with eachother could be a fun way to accomplish that!

Here's the game: we come up with small goals (daily or weekly) and a number of goals we need to reach to win. Then every day or week we tell eachother how we did and post our current goal total and our winning goal number. When we reach our goals, we give ourselves a little prize!

Mine will be week specific goals and I need 8 successful weeks to win (2 months).
- 2 meals out max (non home cooked)
-3 cardio days of 30+ minutes
-2 weights days of 30+ minutes
-1 fun active activity (hiking, dancing, swimming, walking, etc)

Post your goals if you want to play and good luck to all!!

I'm already doing this for a month now :)

However, instead of 3 cardio days, I do 7 cardio days. Because, I don't get out of the house for 6 days a week (I work at home) that's why I need a 7 day cardio to compensate. So you still burn more calories than I do due to weights activity and 1 fun activity in addition.

Been doing this for a while now, my time is cut really short since I don't eat a lot XD Though I do make sure to get my protein and iron in.

:heavycheck: 2-3 days of strength training for 10min. (HIIT)
:heavycheck: 4-5 days of cardio 10-15min.
:heavymultiply: 1 full day of rest.

Yeah, I need to eat healthier too. Not that I'd consider myself "fat", but I'm not burning off all the calories like I used too. Which is a blessing and a curse I guess. These days my muscle mass is pretty decent. Like my arms are bigger than many guys around me, which wasn't the case a few years ago. Still, my stomach kind of has a gut now. Doesn't seem like my body hoards fat really any place else though.. lol. Although that's common for many men.

So I probably should do some cardio or something. Not sure how much I need to limit my intake in food.

You can start doing cardio while maintaining your calorie intake and see how it goes from there.

Because cardio will make you hungry more often so if you maintain your calorie, it's also like eating less, relatively speaking.

However, you can try reducing intake on carbs while doing cardio.

All I can say is kefir is magical.....

Right now I am trying to get my diet in order. (I did that before, but I still ate nitrates etc..... now Im trying to eat healthy, not just "healthier" garbage)

I want to start losing weight with a livable life changing diet before I get back into working out. If I get my diet under control and I lose weight. Ill lose it that much faster (and give purpose to) working out. If my diet is garbage all the weights in the world wont make much difference.

I'll start increasing the food on my plate when the intensity of my workouts increase to make up the difference.

man... I must be missing out. >.> I don't even know what this magic stuff is.

I've told you about it before but NOOOO don't listen to the bull..... psssht :|

:p

It's like a yoghurt smoothie, but it has probiotics.
Yep, although I describe it as 10 times more awesome than yogurt but with with a consistency closer to milk than a tub of yogurt.

Its 10 times the probiotics of yogurt, not only that but according to what I read the probiotics in yogurt, dont stay in your system. They are just along for the ride..... but kefir probiotics stay in the system and help to fight off certain issues. Can even help with lactose intolerance which is also interesting that it is commonly made with animal milk (can be made with coconut milk etc.) but is about 99% lactose free as the bacteria feed off the lactose to become kefir.

Its about as magical as it is vile tasting though.... but as you said if you make it into a smoothie the taste is covered mostly and its not bad. (Flavored kinds are less vile)

This kind tastes like drinking a yogurt cheeseburger... hidden behind a protein powder, a serving of flax and a serving of chia seed and 1 cup of milk. Not bad.

Same situation with this kind without the protein powder but the same everything else taste like a less sweet version of the strawberry nesquick.

Yeah, it's more like milk with a thick consistency. It's interesting that I like it so much because I despise milk.

I like to get either the strawberry or blueberry flavors. I tried just the plain once and it was like drinking bile.

Once the public pool opens after maintenance, I'll be going swimming five days a week.
Wish I had a public pool. I could always join a club... but swimming is less fun alone. :(

11:00 AM - Work until 2:00 PM. Physical labor sorting recycling.
You sort recycling for your job?
I got my boss's blessing to do this schedule as he is fully aware of my declining health.
:( I wish you well in your ambition. We'll hold you accountable.

Though I must say to everyone else: if you want to complete a goal, you should not tell anyone what it is. Research shows that you are more likely to complete your goals if you keep them to yourself :)

You don't have a public pool where you live? I'd figure that if it's found here in this hillbilly town then it can be found anywhere else.
I thought you said you lived in Canada?
No public pool here. Public pools to my knowledge are only found in very nice subdivisions, gated communities, etc..
That said I live in one of the worst American states. So perhaps public pools are as common everywhere else as you thought?

I don't go to bars, but movies I am with you. I rarely go because modern movies don't seem that good. the last two I went to were Beauty and the Beast, and Arrival. Also... I don't like to spend money.

It can be awkward at the movies too because I am usually alone and everyone else there is with somebody...
For some people, doing things alone is a way of life. I go to the bar alone, I go to the movies alone if it's above a PG rating, I go to special events alone... Being an Aspie, I had to learn to get used to being alone. I do enjoy socializing but it's also draining on me so I can swim without any distraction.
yeah... well I guess for me, it is like going to the gym. Going alone is just kind of awkward to me. Not that I am a super social guy myself. My personality has been described in such a way that people has diagnosed me as an Aspie. But I am pretty sure that I am not.

Yes. People come in with pop/beer cans and glass and plastic beverage bottles. I am always on my feet sorting the recycling, moving the massive bags of sorted recycling around, pushing cans through a machines, and whatever job they have for me. I worked at the front for a few months but gave it up because of the customers.
Know how you feel. had a similar job in retail, got paid decently (ahead of the curb) but in my department I had to deal with particularly dumb customers. So I switched to night stocker, took a paycut, and no more fighting :)

Money isn't everything. sometimes less money is worth less stress. am I right? or am I right?
...
or am I right?
