Juncker calls for united EU under one leader

Junker said:

One captain
One of his other key ideas is to merge the presidencies of the European Commission and the European Council into a single position, in order to have one clear leader of the EU.

"Europe would be easier to understand if one captain was steering the ship," he argued.

I came across this article the other day and found it rather interesting in light of what is happening in Europe. But Germany?...and five from the west and five from the east ? I don't know , I think I will wait and see.

Quote - During his annual State of the Union address on Wednesday, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said the “wind was back in Europe’s sails” now that Britain is on the way out. Now is the time, he said, for the European Union to forge ahead with a new UNITED STATES OF EUROPE! Juncker envisions a militarized union with a much more aggressive foreign policy. He foresees a European SUPERSTATE with one powerful president presiding over a very undemocratic union!

The impassioned speech prompted this headline at the Australian: “EU Superstate Will Rise ‘Day After Brexit.’” The Telegraph in London put it more succinctly. This was on the front page, above the fold, in yesterday’s print edition: “A UNITED STATES OF EUROPE” (emphasis added throughout).

Does that remind you of something?

Anyone familiar with Herbert W. Armstrong’s teachings instantly remembers his many articles, booklets, radio programs and television shows about the prophesied seventh and final resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire—an empire he called “the UNITED STATES OF EUROPE!”

“I have been saying all along that there will be a United States of Europe—that Europe is going to unite,” he said on his radio program more than 50 years ago. And this is from the magazine he published, the Plain Truth: (September 1967): “One thing you can count on. In fact, it is so sure you can bank on it: The cry of a political union in Europe will get louder, and before long we will see the Common Market develop into a United States of Europe.”

We’ve called this Herbert W. Armstrong’s signature prophecy.

It’s unfolding exactly the way Mr. Armstrong said it would more than a half-century ago. He said it would be a federation of 10 European nations or groups of nations, “probably five of them in Western Europe and five in Eastern Europe.” That forecast required the Soviet Union to relinquish control of many of its eastern European satellites.

Check.

The 10 kings would give their power to Germany, Mr. Armstrong said. He forecasted that while Germany was the conquered foe of the Allies, literally buried under heaps of rubble. East and West Germany would rise from the ashes of World War II, he said, would REUNITE, and would become the dominant political and economic heart of Europe.

Check.

Mr. Armstrong also said that Britain would not be part of the United States of Europe. If you said that in 1986 or 1996 or 2006, people would have said you were a crackpot. They would have said, Britain can’t leave Europe. It’s part of Europe! Without Britain, there isn’t much Europe left! Then came June 23, 2016: Brexit.

Check.

The common currency? Check. Political union? Check. Military consolidation? Check. We can go on and on. So much Bible prophecy has already been fulfilled. And much more is ABOUT to be fulfilled!

We are still waiting for the emergence of 10 specific kings that are prophesied to “give their power and strength unto the beast” (Revelation 17:13). That’s why Juncker’s speech on Wednesday was so electrifying! He sees a new European Union that perfectly aligns with what your Bible describes—a smaller, more powerful European core—a UNITED STATES OF EUROPE!

We’re also waiting for the “confidence-inspiring leader” to take charge of this European superstate. That’s how Mr. Armstrong described him in 1954. “The world appears bereft of ‘great men,’” he wrote in 1969. “But a world-recognized ‘strongman’ in all probability will now very soon appear. … There will be 10 [kings], ruling 10 nations or groups of nations in the area of the once-great Holy Roman Empire. But there will be one super-king over the 10.”

Mr. Armstrong repeatedly and consistently forecasted the emergence of this strongman, based on a prophecy in Daniel 8 describing a powerful, fierce king who will rise out of the heart of Germany and shock the world!

I use to listen regularly to HW Armstrong back in the day. I even took The Plain Truth magazine for a while. Some of his utterances resonated with my spirit then. It is good to see some fulfillment of his prophecies.
