We do? Where?

He died on the day the lambs were killed...the 14th. It was the day of preparation...Friday. John 19:31 It is strange that there are SOOO many different beliefs regarding all this here.

"Day of preparation" means day before the Sabbath. But the 15th is a Sabbath even if it falls on a Monday.

So again - where does it say the 14th was a Friday?

Because that weekly Sabbath (15th) was also a high day (feast day).

And it says that WHERE exactly???

The term used for preparation in the text is "παρασκευή". This is Friday, the day before the WEEKLY Sabbath. The identification of παρασκευή with Friday became so traditional that it eventually came to be the present-day Greek term for Friday.

"Became so traditional" But was it used that way by Aramaic speaking Jews in the first century?

It is Greek. This is the term used in the Gospels. Greek Jews may have used it. Many Jews used Greek in Yeshua's day too.

In the Greek disapora - but NOT in Judea.
Some in Galilee. (due to its proximity to the Decapolis)

You are not answering the question. Was it used that way in the first century?

Here we go again SMH...the problem is that YOU cant do the math!
The 14th began on Friday at sundown. Friday evening to Saturday evening is one full day. Saturday evening to Sunday evening is two full days. Sunday evening to Monday evening is three full days. A full day is 24 hours long.

Luke 23:54
It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin.

Matthew 12:40
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

The sign on the cross was in Hebrew, Greek and Latin...and that was in Jerusalem

Do I really need to spoon feed you? He also said "on the third day". He was relating to the story of Yonah. We KNOW he died on Friday and resurrected on Sunday because we have 2 eyewitnesses on the road to Emmaus. Why do you think that account is there????

Okay, outside of any gospel.

The idea of preparation is expressed by the Greek name παρασκευή, given by Josephus ("Ant." xvi. 6, § 2) to that day, Friday.

Which Scriptures? Luke 24:13-35?

13 And behold, two of them were going that very day (Sunday)to a village named Emmaus, which was threescore furlongs from Jerusalem.

And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place...

Thanks. Been looking for something like this.

(9t seemed good to me and my counsellours, according to the sentence and oath of the people of Rome, that the Jews have liberty to make use of their own customs, according to the law of their fathers, as they made use of them under Hyrcanus the High Priest of Almighty God; and that their sacred money be not touched, but be sent to Jerusalem; and that it be committed to the care of the receivers at Jerusalem; and that they be not obliged to go before any judge on the Sabbath-day, nor on the day of the preparation to it, after the ninth hour:

Luke 23:56
Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.

The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread

Leviticus 23
4 “‘These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times: 5 The Lord’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. 6 On the fifteenth day of that month the Lord’s Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. 7 On the (first day / Sunday) hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. 8 For seven days present a food offering to the Lord. And on the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.’”

The women did not attend his grave on Sunday according to scriptures.

Friday evening to Sunday morning is one and a half days.

Mark 16:9
[The earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have verses 9–20.] When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
