Well, you have a point there. Drug addicts steal to get their money and drug dealers provide a service to get their money.

When there's a demand, a supplier will fill it, regardless of race or law.

I'm glad that you make a distinction between addicted drug use and recreational drug use, but my question concerns white people buying drugs from blacks for recreational use. This is what brings the most 'new' money to these sellers and thus to their 'hoods'.

White dealers tend to come from better socioeconomic standing, so they can generally afford to take more of a loss without resorting to violence. Not to mention they are more active in suburban and rural areas where one or two dealers tend to hold a monopoly, making the business a bit less cutthroat.

Of course, Prohibition shows us whites can and will resort to turf wars as much as anyone else will if the circumstances are ripe for it.
