Question: "Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God?"

Answer:
The Muslim and Christian views of God have some similarities. Christians believe in one eternal God Who created the universe, and Muslims apply these attributes to Allah. Both view God as all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present.

A vital difference between the Islamic and Christian views of God is the biblical concept of the Trinity. In the Bible, God has revealed Himself as one God in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. While each Person of the Trinity is fully God, God is not three gods but three in one.

God’s Son came in the form of man, a truth called the incarnation (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:14; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 4:1-3). The Lord Jesus Christ conquered the penalty and power of sin by dying on the cross (Romans 6:23). After rising from the dead, Jesus went back to heaven to be with His Father and sent the Holy Spirit to believers (Acts 1:8-11). One day, Christ will return to judge and rule (Acts 10:42, 43). Those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus will live with Him, but those who refuse to follow Him must be separated in hell from the holy God.

“The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him” (John 3:35-36). Either Jesus bears the wrath of God for your sin on the cross or you bear the wrath of God for your sin in hell (1 Peter 2:24).

The Trinity is essential to the Christian faith. Without the Trinity, there would be no incarnation of God’s Son in the Person of Jesus Christ. Without Jesus Christ, there would be no salvation from sin. Without salvation, sin would condemn all to an eternal hell.

So, do Christians and Muslims worship the same God? A better question is, “Do Christians and Muslims both have a correct understanding of who God is?” To this question, the answer is definitely no. Because of crucial differences between the Christian and Muslim concepts of God, the two faiths cannot both be true. The biblical God alone addresses and solves the problem of sin by giving His Son.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:16-18). Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God?

Question: "Should we worship Jesus?"

Answer:
The answer to this question largely hinges on Jesus’ identity. If Jesus is regarded as deity in the same sense as His Father, then we should worship Jesus. If the New Testament documents identify Jesus with Yahweh, then we should worship Jesus. If He is merely a prophet of God, the worship of Jesus would not be appropriate. Given the Bible’s insistence that worship is to be directed to God alone, any God-fearing individual will need a satisfactory answer to this all-important question.

The apostle Paul called Jesus “our great God and Savior” (Titus 2:13) and points out that, prior to His incarnation, Jesus existed in the “form of God” (Philippians 2:5–8). God the Father says regarding Jesus, “Your throne, O God will last forever and ever” (Hebrews 1:8). The apostle John says that “in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word [Jesus] was God” (John 1:1). Other passages identify Jesus as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16–17; Hebrews 1:2). Jesus receives worship several times in the Gospels (Matthew 2:11; 28:9, 17; Luke 24:52; John 9:38; 20:28). Jesus is never said to reject such adoration. Rather, He accepts such worship as well placed. So, does the Bible portray Jesus as fully deity? The answer is certainly “yes.”

With that being said, Christians need to recognize that the Bible also teaches the deity of the Father (John 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Peter 1:2) as well as the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3–4; 1 Corinthians 3:16). And yet the Scriptures teach that there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4). How can this be? The Christian church has historically taught that the Bible is clearly portraying God as one Being who exists in three Persons. This doctrine is known as the Trinity. Dr. James White, author of The Forgotten Trinity, has provided what we believe to be a helpful definition of the Trinity. Here it is: “Within the one Being that is God, there exists eternally three coequal and coeternal persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” We contend that this is the clear teaching of Scripture and should be affirmed by any biblically faithful Christian.

These biblical distinctions go a long way in providing the proper balance in Christian worship. We must not overemphasize our adoration for any one Person in the Godhead at the expense of another. The Bible teaches that, while the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit perform unique functions and have different roles, all three Persons of the Godhead are equal in power and majesty.

In summary, the Bible teaches that Jesus of Nazareth is nothing less than God the Son, the second Person of the Triune God (Trinity). In view of this, He is due our full worship and devotion. To fail to worship Jesus Christ would be sinful. Should we worship Jesus?

I wonder if this website might be useful to you. It might help in forming a bridge between your Christian beliefs and the Hindu belief system of your family (as you have mentioned problems in regards to this in other posts). It also has information and links in many other languages than English.

No. The God of the Quran is the creation of Muhammad. He based it on the God of the Bible but he mixed in other false beliefs.

Also Muslims are not in a position to say that the Bible has been corrupted because the Quran says that the word of God cannot be corrupted. At most they could say that we have misinterpreted it but that doesn't work because the Bible clearly refutes many of the teachings found in the Quran. This creates a dilemma for them because they must either say the Bible has been corrupted which means that the Quran is wrong when it says the word of God cannot be corrupted, or they must say the Bible has not been corrupted and then come to the realization that the Bible and the Quran do not line up so the Quran would be in error once again.

The fact that Jesus claimed to be divine is indisputable. People either bowed and worshiped him as Lord or they accused him of blasphemy for the claims he made about himself.

I and the Father are one. At this, the Jews again picked up stones to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.” (John 10:30-33)

kirthika, welcoming you to the forums. So glad you are a believer in Yeshua.

In response to your question: Once we become believers, we learn Yahweh's ways and one of His characteristics is that He does not lie (Numbers 23:19). So He wouldn't tell one group to love others (Matt 22:39: John 13:34-35) while telling another group the opposite.

Asking Yahweh to bless you.

No doubt someone here will mention things like Thomas saying "My Lord and my God" and worshiping the Savior.

The god of Islam, as they tell you over and over, has no Son. Even the Old Testament talks of the Almighty's Son. In Psalm 2 it says to "kiss the Son.' In Job it asks "What is His Son's Name, tell me if you know." Also the address for Deity in the Old Testament uses the word "Elohim." The last two letters are used to indicate a plurality in Hebrew, as in Seraph meaning one and Seraphim meaning more than one.

Islam says that Judas, not the One called Jesus, died on the cross. They say our Savior did NOT die for our sins. No religion could be farther from the Bible, and more contradictory to it, than Islam.

Here is just a smidge of the data showing that the Son of the Almighty is Who the Bible says He is.
Now in the Bible we are told of a Man Who believed in Adam and Eve and Noah as being actual, historical figures. The Bible says He did miracles and told others to do things like raise the dead and heal the sick. It also describes His death and burial. Is there any actual scientific data to support those stories? To my great surprise, when I was an athesit, the answer is: Absolutely!
.
See secular news reports about Val Thomas, dead for 17 hours but now alive and normal after prayers from her family and her Church.
. See Medical Marvel Beyond Chance, from a secular source, with a pediatrician giving his report. this one attesting to a dying child's healing which cannot be explained by modern medicine, and came after a relative laid hands on her and prayed for her. The DNA in every cell of her body was changed.
.
Here is some more documented, scientific, evidence, not nearly all of it at all. See CBN's short vid Dean Braxton. You'll hear his critical care doctor, rated the best patient care doctor in Washington state, saying "It is a miracle...a miracle..." that Braxton is alive, has no brain damage and is normal in every way. Why? He had no heart beat and no respiration for 1 3/4 hours! His family believed in divine healing and they and others were praying for him.
. Also see CBN Dr. Chauncey Crandall Raises A Man From The Dead.
Part 1. This video is a bit faded but has the most complete information on this story.
.
Bruce Van Natta was in a horrific accident and lost all but a couple of small pieces of his small intestine. Someone he never met was told to take a plane to lay hands on him and pray for him and to his doctors' amazement, his small intestines grew back!
.
Get Dr. Richard Casdorph's book The Miracles. There he gives medical documentation for miracles, mostly, but not all, from Kathryn Kuhlman's healing services. Casdorph came to Kuhlman's meetings to debunk her but turned into a supporter, as did other doctors. You can see him and other doctors in some of her healing services on YT. (She is now deceased.) Delores Winder is one of the cases documented in his book. You can watch her amazing story on YT with Sid Roth. Delores Winder testimony.wmv The book The Audacity of Prayer by Don Nordin lists medically documented miracles.
.
On Andrew Wommack's vids you can see doctors talking about "miracles" too. Check out the YT vid with the opthamologist who says Yes, Ronald Coyne could see out of an empty eye socket after a faith healer prayed for him. You can see him doing demos. At the end of the book Don't Limit God you see a medical statement by a doctor saying that his patient used to have M.S. and diabetes but is now cured. . Do you think that Someone Who can raise the dead and heal people of deadly "incurable" diseases, Someone Who created time, space, matter, energy and you - needed "evolution" to make life forms? No, He created them fully formed and fully functional in 6 days just as Genesis, a Book He always supported, tells you.
.
Then there is the Shroud of Turin. If you don't know, the Shroud is a linen burial shroud with the faint image of a crucified man on it. If you have heard that the Shroud was proven to be a Medieval fake based on carbon 14 testing, in the documentary Jesus And The Shroud of Turin you can see the very inventor of carbon 14 testing saying that the sample was invalid due to contamination. Documentary | Jesus and the Shroud of Turin
.
The vid demonstrates many miraculous features such as pollen from Jerusalem and faint images of flowers that are found only in the Jerusalem area during the spring, as at Passover when Messiah was crucified. With modern technology we also see that the Shroud has an x ray quality which reveals bones and dentition of the Man on the Shroud.
.
In the 70s a NASA scientist noticed the Shroud's photographs had inexplicable, unique in the world, qualities. He got up a team of scientists, called STURP, to examine it in person in Italy. (No, the Shroud is not "just a Catholic thing" as the Vatican only came into possession of it fairly recently in history.) They used NASA, and other, high tech equipment with 100s of thousands of hours of research. Their findings are seen all over the net and were published in respected science journals.
.
The team was composed of 3 Jews, at least one agnostic and one atheist, and people of various faiths. They all agreed on these things: There is no paint on the Shroud and they have no clue how the image got there. It exactly matches, down to blood stains where a crown of thorns would be, the description of Messiah's death and burial as given in the Bible. The image could not be duplicated with modern technology.
.
These miracles are not what many would call proof. But they are certainly evidence. In a court of law you generally rely on evidence, not proof, as the actual crime is historical and cannot usually be observed (unless there was a video cam.)
.Anyone: About the Shroud I say "If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and waddles like a duck, maybe it's a duck." Maybe that Man on the Shroud is your very Best Friend and Savior. I pray you will find that out.
.
You're going to need a miracle some day friend. They are out there in abundance for those who humbly seek them from their Creator, the One Who made all that DNA out there.

To the original question: No, the god presented in the Qur'an is not the same as the God of the Bible.

The Bible presents God to be a Trinity. This is not 3 gods. This 3 persons in the one being of God.
Islam present Allah to be one person in one being. This is called Unitarianism.

Islam denies that Jesus is God. The Bible teaches that Jesus is God. Foundational difference of Islam and Christianity. The Bible teaches that anyone who rejects that Jesus is God is anti-Christ and the truth is not in them. Mohammad denied Jesus is God. Mohammad also had little to no access to the Bible. Mohammad had no understanding of the Trinity. Islam believes that Allah cannot enter into his creation, this is a Deistic god. The Bible teaches that God became incarnate in Jesus Christ. This is a foundational difference.

There are lots of muslims who say to me that becuae Bible is corrupted by people,God gave a final revealation to Mohammed who is their prophet, which is in Book called Quran,How far is this inference True??

Challenge any Muslim who claims this to prove this by providing original documentation in the original
languages to show where the Bible has been corrupted from the original. They won't and they can't.

When God has chosen lots of prophets like isiah, daniel, jeremah and many, whose prophecies all have come true then,How come biible be corrupted,Furthermore they claim that Jesus whom I worship is just another Prophet,And I am sinning By exalting a prophet Equivalent To God,

Jesus was not merely a Prophet, the Muslims are completely wrong on this. Jesus is God.

They give lot of references from quran,Where the prophet isa in their book claims"Worship allah Only, who is my and your God"

Which is irrelevant, since Christians do not hold the Qur'an to be the word of God. Nor do Christians claim to worship a different God, as if there are multiple "Gods". But this again demonstrates that Mohammad had no understanding of the Trinity.

furthermore they ask in BIble saying "Where did Jesus say I am God worship Me??"

Demanding that the Bible says (i.e. that Jesus says) those specific words is a facile argument and simply shows how the one who demands such a thing has no interest in the truth. And they would never hold the Qur'an to that same standard.

However, Jesus is clearly demonstrated to be God in multiple places throughout the Bible.

John 1:1-18
John 10:30
John 8:58
Romans 9:5
Titus 2:13-14
2 Peter 1:1
Colossians 1:3-20
et. al.

He accepted worship:
John 20:26-28
Hebrews 1:6-8
