A lot of theories I see presented over the decades, are presented not as theories, but as facts. We all know how dangerous that can be with eschatology, because it was the exact same mistake made for our benefit today by the religious scholars who opposed Jesus.

What did they do wrong? They said they were not blind, so they could not ask and be healed. In perspective terms, they had a certain idea pictured for "what must happen" and they thought this meant clarity. In the reverse, it was as covering their eyes with a bandage of their own making.

Of them, Jesus specifically said they need to say they do not know, but they are saying they do know.

They put too much confidence on an idea. How does that happen? It must be a basic 'weights and scales' matter. We should strictly only use the most honest and accurate of weights which we can, to be diligent for accuracy in our judgments as we possibly can be.

How do some Christians end up this way? One is they mistake "faith" as a concept that encourages over rated confidence on a critical idea.

These sorts may be born in their particular end times teaching. The idea of considering this a potentially dangerous, subjective bias never entering their mind. It is an alien concept to them, entirely absent in their isolated subculture.

At times, they may be basing their saving faith on their own teachers, instead of Christ.

Others have stumbled onto this or that end times idea, and eventually fallen to believe in one or the other. There are personal preferential reasons to do so, found in many of these. Especially if they promise they alone are the true way to the future age of power.

Others believe in using more rigorous methods of measuring out their own confidence with utmost diligent accuracy. A product of a commitment to self-honesty and humility. They do use modern tools to do so. They approach end times problems with new questions. They are rigorous in their methodology and strict on what is theory and not yet 'absolute confidence theory' or 'fact'.

They are far from being like pre-'modern times' homicide detectives, who would just grab whomever they wanted to, to pin a murder on. Those who had no concern or thought about putting an innocent person to death and letting the guilty go free.

They are able to ask questions and not rely on mere tradition or the sageness of some wannabe guru.

They are able to keep open many theories, and have no problem calling the various possibilities "theories". Instead of "facts" when they should not be. Again, noting, "facts are just theories someone has put all their confidence in, whether they should have or not".

They have a strong respect for unknown theories. They do not think they have all of the possible right answers. They understand there may be answers far too strange for human beings to even have been told.

Though, in each of these factors, there are many ways to fall, to make a basic mistake that invalidates much of their efforts to accuracy.

One of the biggest problems in the study of eschatology today is the tendency to force the scriptures to fit a manmade system of interpretation.

The two systems found in most church bodies today are either Reformed Covenant Theology, which is about 400 years old, and modern Dispensational Theology, which is less than two hundred years old.
These two systems have been at war with each other for over 100 years.

I have many good, honest, Christian friends who hold to one of these two systems.
Which one is correct?
Neither.
They both have problems, especially with Galatians chapter 3.

The following sheds light on the New Covenant, which is the original doctrine taught by the first century Church.
Unless, a person understands the New Covenant, there is no way their eschatology can be correct.

What I see as a worse danger of studying what the Prophetic Word tells us; is to ignore it!
Imagine standing before the Great White Throne, Revelation 20:13-15 and the Lord asks: Why did you fail to even try to understand what My prophets told you, in over 1/4 of the Bible?

The problems arise when people approach the prophesies with an already fixed mindset. They then see it all thru the lens of that belief. Isaiah 29:9-12 says what happens what you do that.
1 Corinthians 14:2b says that only believers can understand the prophesies, so we must be right with God. Also it was impossible for anyone to fully understand before, for as we are now in the end times and all the previous commentators, prophecy experts, etc, were not. Daniel 12:9-10

I completely agree.

Thank you for the vote of confidence in my own sanity.

Not much into going around watching videos, however, sorry.

If you wish to explain your beliefs in your own words, that would certainly be a joy.

Based on what Christ said on the road to Emmaus the whole Bible is about Him.

He is the seed of the woman from Genesis 3:15.

He is the one through which all of the nations would be blessed, as promised to Abraham.
This is confirmed by Paul in Galatians 3:16.
The most important genealogy in the Bible is found in the first verse in the New Testament.
(Matthew 1:1) Again, this is confirmed by Galatians 3:16.

A New Covenant was promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34.

That same text is found repeated and fulfilled by Christ, in Hebrews 8:6-13.

Daniel 9 is the timeline of the arrival of the New Covenant Messiah.
The summary of Daniel 9:24 was fulfilled by Christ during the first century, based on Acts 10:38 and Hebrews 10:16-18.

In Hebrews 8:13 the New Covenant has made the Old Covenant "obsolete".
This is confirmed by Hebrews 12:18-24. We have not come to Mt. Sinai, but to the New Covenant of Mount Zion, instead.

In Galatians 3:16-29 we find the temporary nature of the Old Covenant.
The law was "added" 430 years "after" the promise made to Abraham "until" the seed (Christ) could come to whom the promise was made.

In Galatians 4 Paul compares the Sinai Covenant to bondage and compels the Galatian believers to "cast out" the Sinai Covenant.
There are two different sets of commandments in John 15:10.

Almost all of the first members of the New Covenant Church were Israelites, as confirmed by Acts 2:36.

The Olive Tree of Romans 11 is a symbol of the New Covenant Church made up of Israelites and Gentiles grafted together into one tree, through faith in Christ.

If we want modern Jews to be saved we need to share with them the "suffering servant" of Isaiah chapter 53, and the promise of the New Covenant in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and the timeline of Daniel chapter 9. These Hebrew scriptures prove that the baby born in a manger is the New Covenant Messiah.

If you have a little time, the video above about the New Covenant, by Bob George, is something I copied and shared with the members of my Sunday-school class.
It will be well worth your time.

Hi DreamerOfTheHeart,

Some good thoughts there bro. My belief is that as God puts Christ at the centre and His purposes, then that is what we should do.

The problems are based on me, myself & I, that we are the centre of God`s purposes & thus we go round & round the eschatological merry-go-round.

regards, Marilyn.

.

To me, it is Jonah who is really amazing.

He did not want to go to Nineveh and save it. So, he tried to run away.

When he finally preached to Nineveh, he only preached an anonymous message of doom.

But, they repented anyway.

As if this was even an option...

I think you are taking your deficiencies too seriously.

An amateur views medical problems as very "gross", but doctors and nurses view this as a problem that can be fixed.

Hi Dreamer,

I continue to trust the Lord and believe that His Holy Spirit who has led us thus far, revealing different truths of Christ and His purposes, over the years, and will, I believe complete the clarification of truth for the Body of Christ to come to maturity. (Eph. 4: 13)
