American Cancer Society says it will not hold gala at Mar-a-Lago

The American Cancer Society (ACS) has backed out of plans to host a 2018 gala at President Trump's Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, becoming the latest group of distance itself from the president after he appeared to defend white nationalist protesters in Charlottesville, Va.

The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and Susan G. Komen foundation all said Friday they're canceling events at Trump's Palm Beach property Mar-a-Lago. That comes after three organizations made similar announcements on Thursday.

Its ok, most charities are almost scams really. Like ACS, Red Cross and others ones that misuse most of the money. So they are no better than Trump in some regards. Granted I'd rather have them over Trump.

Good. Though I had to say I'm surprised they ever held events there. Trump doesn't seem like the type to give discounts to charitable organizations having fundraisers but I'd think other places would. (Can't say I've ever looked into this, it's just a guess they would, on account of the goodwill)

Probably not, after all they're making a lot of money off the American taxpayer and it would appear they're going to make even more as this administration goes forward.

Who knows, maybe the American Cancer Society will use the money saved... to actually help people with cancer. I'm sure that would make the donors happy.
