Prayers for you.

You are 24 years old? Do you live with either of your parents?

Children should obey their parents when they are young, but you are an adult, and also - if any authority tells us to go against our faith, faith wins.

It depends what is the hardship?

If you live with one of them and they will not allow you to keep living in the home and go to Church, you might speak to the pastor of your church and see if he can help you find living arrangements.

If your hardship is that they are not happy and want to keep talking to you about it, it is probably best to explain kindly and briefly to them that you have found faith in the God who created the universe and everything in it, you love them, and then do not talk about it, at least for now. Let things settle down. Talk to them about good things, even truths you both believe (there are surely some, all people have God's law written on their hearts). Treat them with love and respect. But you must be firm in your faith. In time they will probably come to see change in you and may even wish to know more. Pray for them. And talk to someone you can trust for spiritual counsel.

It is not easy, but difficulty can also be an opportunity to strengthen faith in God.

And forgive me please if I'm way off base as far as the problem - I'm having to guess at possible hardships.

Prayers for you - God be with you.

How old are you?

If you are under 18 then respect your parents' wishes for now. If over 18 then choose for yourself what you do with your own life, but bear in mind that you may lose contact with some of your family.

If your parents are not in the same city as you then you decide what you do, not them. They had their chance to influence you when you were small. Now it is your turn to decide.

No, don't lie to them. Explain quietly that this is your life and you are going to make your own choices. Tell them the truth.

Explain that you are not doing this to hurt them, but because it is the right path for you.

i presume there is a very good reason why you can't stand up to them

some cultures do not allow children to argue with their parents

so if you for some reason can't stand up to your parents and tell them you are going to church i understand.

do you need to say anything to them?

can you attend church without telling them?

that is not lying

if you go to church and find some really good friends there they can pray for you and advise you also

the more christian friends you can make here and in India the better for you

praying for you my dear friend

In which case perhaps it might help to offer a polite explanation that being a Christian means being part of a church community. It may be that your parents need reassurance that you are not going to suddenly tell them their faith is wrong. Perhaps you could agree on all sides not to do that.

Most of all, trust in your parents' love for you.

Thank you for making the situation more clear. No, you should not lie to them. But you are not lying by not telling them everything.

It does become difficult if they demand to know whether you are going to Church and refuse to see you if you are. If you know what their REAL concern is? Maybe you can answer in addressing that instead? I started to give an example but I think it's better that I don't since I will probably guess wrong.

Those at the church can hopefully help you. And hopefully your parents can understand that out of love for you they do not want to be cut off from you.

You do not need to try to talk them into Christianity. That can make matters worse. They can only see your example over time and hopefully be drawn by your being like Christ and your prayers for them. It is difficult for you since what they expect and what Christ calls you to are not the same. But you must follow Christ, strive to become like Him, and love your parents with His love. It may take time but it will help you in your faith and is the best way for you to witness to them.

God be with you. Prayers for you.

You need to find at least one Christian friend, if that's not possible, find some friends online who will talk to you every day.

Jesus tells us:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
(Bible, John 16:33)

:groupray: There are Christians around the world who are praying for you! We love you because you are our sister. :prayer:

Please help me ,I do not know what to really do,Anybody of you please help me
imo the following suggestion is something that works really well

family really get impacted by our new life

they see the good changes in us

give yourself a chance to grow in Christ before you face dealing with your parents

praying for you to have God's peace about when and how to say anything to your parents

don't speak until God prepares you to do so

God Bless you my dear friend

praying for you

if you go to church and don't tell your parents what would happen?

in your culture is disobeying your parents just as bad as lying to them?

if so maybe God could help you meet christians in house meetings rather than church

you could maybe talk to the pastor of the church you wanted to attend and tell him your problem - and he might have some suggestions for you - like coming to home meetings instead

Matthew 10:34-39 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. (35) For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. (36) And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. (37) Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (38) And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (39) Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Luke 9:57-62 As they were going along the road, someone said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." (58) And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." (59) To another he said, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." (60) And Jesus said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God." (61) Yet another said, "I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home." (62) Jesus said to him, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God."

John 16:25-33 "I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father. (26) In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; (27) for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. (28) I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father." (29) His disciples said, "Ah, now you are speaking plainly and not using figurative speech! (30) Now we know that you know all things and do not need anyone to question you; this is why we believe that you came from God." (31) Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? (32) Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. (33) I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
