Is there a place at the table for white men?

What do they request we back off from?

I thought I was very clear on that because I asked, And what makes you think minorities need you or want you to help them (or receive help from other White people)? I was even more specific when I asked my next question: What if they don't want you interfering in their lives and they tell you to mind your own business and back off, what then? I'm not sure why my last questions: Do you think you and other White people have a right and are somehow entitled to interfere in the lives of minorities when you're not invited or welcome? and do you try to impose on them anyway or do you respect their request and back off? haven't been answered yet. I hope they're answered soon.

That's a pretty big "what if" isn't it?

The only thing white people have imposed on blacks is compulsory western education (but only up to age 16 in most states). But many black youths, especially boys, refuse that education anyway. So it's all good.

Edit. And if they want us to back off from law enforcement they should stop calling for the police and handle their crime and violence problems themselves.

You are excused from the discussion. :D

Well, its no real use debating ignornance so no loss.

But you really should learn about social science, because you come across as incredibly rascist. I dont know if you are or care but I thought Id give you a heads up.

I get it. Anyone who wants to help minorities by offering advice or opinion that is counter to their culture is a racist.

If it quacks like a duck. . . it's not a rabbit.

I typically only bother to read your posts when you directly quote me, because you don't offer enough value to read them otherwise, so again, I am flattered you take your time to read so many of my posts to make up assumptions to entertain yourself.

What's funny to me is that 5 years back most conservative folks would never describe Trump, the 3 time married adulterer, who doesn't hold a lick of Christian values, as a conservative. Now when he is criticized, it's assumed the one criticizing isn't a conservative.

I don't think you understand the metaphor. I'm grim because I don't think my cornflakes are coming. :(

I perfectly understand the metaphor. I read the story you wrote about it that came from Readers Digest or something. I was repulsed by it, you were somehow inspired by it. A grown man sulking about not getting his cornflakes.

Who determines what's "fair" in this context? I'm reminded of 2 Corinthians 8:13-14.

Well, that's pretty radical.

But the problem is Paul's reference to Exodus 16, which maps the Church to "Israel in the Wilderness," which is contrary to the usual Western model of "Israel in the Promised Land."

The Promised Land Economy is the economy westerners like because it supports "God helps those who help themselves." It's the economy where Proverbs works. It's the economy where we can chastise those who are poor for their own moral failures. It's the economy were we can gospelize prosperity and make it the result of Christianese activity.

We don't like the Wilderness Economy. In the Wilderness Economy, God is the acknowledged provider, and not the work of our own hands. In the Wilderness Economy, God asserted that each person is to get exactly the same amount. Whether he collected much or whether he collected little, it's all measured out equally, so the people who were able to collect much were working for the good of those who collected little.

We don't like this. We rebel against it.

I recall hearing a television evangelist doing a series on 2 Corinthians, and as he read through chapter 8, he literally skipped over verses 13-15. Just flat leaped right over them, from 12 to 16 as though it those verses weren't even there.

You still don't get it. It's not about cornflakes (and I'm not sulking).

Again, I get it. It's about the proverbial cornflakes not literal ones. You sure do act like you're sulking, as did the man brat in the story you posted about.

Nope, you are responsible for your own education.

The last six commandments are the foundation of social science. I know them well and practice them daily (which should eliminate the need for a college course in the subject). :holy:

I'm not even 'waiting' as I know my cornflakes aren't coming. They were never coming, but I've worked around that very well. ;)

That "man brat" had a contract with his guide, who broke the contract. The "man brat" insisted that he fulfill the contract, and he didn't bend. I was greatly inspired by that. We are screwed everyday by such as that guide. That time he didn't get away with his sloppy disregard for a perfectly reasonable agreement. You can bet that that guide fulfilled the rest of the contract as well.

Find something wrong with that. :D

Right, the American had put it into his contract that he wanted his cornflakes for his breakfast while he was in Africa. When the guide didn't have them he made a beautiful breakfast in its place but the man brat sat there at the table and sulked. Now most folks of good raising and character, would have moved forward, putting more priority on other things than their breakfast, having some more sense and consideration. But not your fool.
The man brat wasn't appeased, so the guide had to travel for hours to get the little snowflake his cornflakes. Time that could have been spent productively, wasted over cornflakes. You think that was admirable, I thought that was the definition of an Ugly American abroad. He was an absolute brat.

Are you married? Just wondering if your wife tolerates that kind of childish behavior.

The "brat man" likely didn't get where he was by allowing his clients to break agreements.

"Give and inch and people will walk all over you."

If he had accepted a breakfast that he didn't want what else would the guide renig on?

A friend and I had the cooking duties in a deer camp one year. An older man, a doctor, opted for oatmeal. Everyone else wanted the usual bacon, eggs, hash browns, etc. The only thing that kept going through my mind was the oatmeal the good doctor wanted. We didn't disappoint him. He said that he had eaten oatmeal for breakfast all of his life, and we took that very seriously.

So should we have done him a great big favor and served him the same sumptuous breakfast that the others preferred?

I'm guessing that the man made a special point about what he wanted for breakfast. The guide should have been more considerate of this. If it were me I would have highlighted and underlined "cornflakes" on my shopping list for the hunt.

Not any more. She left me because she didn't want to be my wife. She then left two boyfriends, and another husband because she didn't want to be their girlfriend or his wife either. "Can two walk together except they be in agreement?" Nope.

I am a very happy man, thank you (and thank God she's gone, it was torture for both of us).
