Wasn't the reason for this white nationalists March to protest the removal of a confederate statue there? Which I'm guessing they perceived that doing as trying to cleanse away Charlottesville Virginia's confederate past in some way.

This then presented some sort of opportunity for those funding Black lives matter to move them in and display the desired division between the two groups which begin taunting each other over how each of their skin colors matter.

Its pretty sad, but this is how divide and conquer works and theres plenty of dumb dumbs to fall for that.

There is no moral equivalence between Nazis and the people who oppose them. America did the right thing by fighting Nazis during WW2, and if people have to fight Nazis here, good for them.

There can be no tolerance for people of this ilk. It will only make them stronger. Same for traitors who carry the traitor confederate flag.

Down south thats flown in various places always has been, don't bother me.

Is it a constitutional issue? Where its okay to tear down a confederate flag but one must be given pause to fly an ISIS flag?

While I agree that these alt-right white power groups are the scum of the Earth, I don't see any cause to resort to violence against them at their rallies. I support their right to spew their vile filth so long as they are not directly encouraging violence. This was an act of domestic terrorism and I condemn it no matter who was driving the car.

I share your disdain for the anti-American Confederate flag but I do get some satisfaction when I see it, reminded that the good guys always win and that that movement was defeated once and will be again, if needed. Ditto the Nazi flags that were also on display at the rally.

This was not an instance of someone being forced to remove a confederate flag, it was an instance of racists having a temper tantrum because the people who were in charge of a statue elected to remove it, as was their clear right.

Okay, so they were protesting those who were elected in to remove that statue? Could the same thing apply in any decision (either way) to set up that controversial satanic statue at the VA? Hear of that? To be honest I haven't read any further on it, whether it was allowed or not, I'm not really into statues, but one might have more of a historic value to some (even if they don't support it) while another not so much.

I didn't hear of the VA statue. But today's incident was tragic for the country imho. The fight over a statue cause the death of a person. Sad. :( :sigh:.And to think, so called civilized folks condone this.

I haven't read anything about BLM in this riot. The anti-protesters in all the video I have seen have been almost all white. So this is not a black/white riot.

People sure do love their various idols whether religious or secular ones. I would imagine that such an incident could probably have been anticipated to a certain degree given the people involved, the climate as of late. It is sad, I agree. Some people freak out when their statues (whatever they might signify to people) are encroached upon. Some folks don't mind dying for or killing for the strangest of causes either. Seems pretty warped.

Wow.
I don't like what the protestor stand for, but it's their right...just like BLM, LGBTQ, etc.
Wanting death for someone you disagree with is rough.
I disagree with you...Glad you don't know who I am or where I live.

Umm, where have you been? People loudly and directly criticized the violent minority in the BLM movement. The violence that they did and advocated for was and is evil and unacceptable. Why we're talking about BLM in this thread is unclear to me. There is no information to suggest that either the terrorist in this attack nor the victims were affiliated with BLM. This was a white nationalist and white supremacist rally aimed at uniting the political right. There were people associate with BLM who showed up to counter-protest, but by and large the counter-protesters seemed local and unorganized in comparison to the white supremacists.
