Is it wrong to worship JESUS

How do we say that?
When Jesus was in trouble or needed something he would pray to GOD his father. How can JESUS pray to himself?

Jesus IS God, the Father IS God but the Father IS NOT Jesus and Jesus IS NOT the Father even though they are one. These are statements derived from what we read in the NT. They are paradoxical in nature but it is not meant to explain God but rather value the way God is revealed through the NT.

Jesus did not "preach" that He was "God".

He revealed that He was the Divine Messiah come down / sent down from heaven to save Man...the "gospel"/Good News!

I never said he preached on his divine nature. I even said why he didn't. He humbled himself but also the Bible I believe specifically says this that if they knew who he was his enemies wouldn't have killed him. He needed to die for our sins revealing his nature in a public sermon or address where the Pharisees (some of his enemies) were around wouldn't help with that. Not to mention he was humbling himself as a man.

Of course, we worship Jesus, but for 3 reasons we should not pray to Jesus:
(1) In His model prayer Jesus teaches us to pray to the Father, not to Jesus.
(2) In John 16:23-24 Jesus teaches us to pray to the Father in Jesus' name.
(3) When we pray directly to Jesus, we lose sight of Jesus' role as our heavenly mediator and intercessor. Jesus' heavenly role is precisely why we are instructed to pray to the Father in Jesus' name.

Logically it does confuse us sometimes when we think of Jesus and God. Sometimes I am like "Should I pray to Jesus or God?". Even though they are one in the same really. God sent His only Son to earth. But Jesus is more or less God on earth. I don't want to say a clone because that sounds weird. But lets say I took a toe off and it became me fully. Its part of me and also separate. Two in one. Well technically three in one since you include the Holy Spirit.

Idolatry is more along the lines of holy water and consecrating objects- which the RCC openly does, even insofar as dolls that will heal illness.
Martin Luther specifically pointed that out, stating that in those practices the Church was idolatrous.

This verse is the clearest example we have that proves the Trinity. Note that the first half is Yahweh Elohim (Plural) The lord God (plural) Yahweh Echad (singular). The Lord is ONE!

In other words. Jesus and God are one and the same.

By the way, Jesus did claim to be God. John 10:30 "I and my Father are one."

Pretty clear really.

Praying to Jesus is exactly the same as praying to the Father.

Dear hfbroady. No, it is not wrong to worship Jesus, He died on the Cross, that we might live. Jesus told us: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: love thy neighbour as thyself, treat all you know and all you meet, treat them as you would love to be treated. God is Love, and God wants loving sons and daughters.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 22: 35-40: Love God and love thy neighbour. Give up all selfish and unloving wishes and words. Love God and love your neighbour. In Matthew 7: 7-10: we are told: Ask and you shall receive. We ask for Love and Joy, and Compassion, then we thank God and share all love, joy and compassion with our neighbour. If you don't put the Son, "before" the Father (or above, or beyond, or whatever), you can elevate him (Christ) to being almost equal to, and in many ways, equal to God, the Father (like a truine God and belief in the trinity)...

If you do not put the Son "before" the Father, your OK, i think...?
