Wisconsin Company to Implant Microchips in Employees

July 24, 2017 04:29 PM

A Wisconsin company is about to become the first in the U.S. to offer microchip implants to its employees.

Yes, you read that right. Microchip implants.

It's the next thing that's inevitably going to happen, and we want to be a part of it," Three Square Market Chief Executive Officer Todd Westby said.

The company designs software for break room markets that are commonly found in office complexes.

Just as people are able to purchase items at the market using phones, Westby wants to do the same thing using a microchip implanted inside a person's hand.

"We'll come up, scan the item," he explained, while showing how the process will work at an actual break room market kiosk. "We'll hit pay with a credit card, and it's asking to swipe my proximity payment now. I'll hold my hand up, just like my cell phone, and it'll pay for my product."

More than 50 Three Square Market employees are having the devices implanted starting next week. Each chip is about the size of a single grain of rice.

Along with purchasing market kiosk items, employees will be able to use the chip to get into the front door and log onto their computers.

Each chip costs $300, and the company is picking up the tab. They're implanted between a person's thumb and forefinger. Westby added the data is both encrypted and secure.

"There's no GPS tracking at all," he said.

No one who works at Three Square Market is required to get the chip implant.

[Opinion] Israel and the unexpected new world order

Israel and the unexpected new world order

In the new and surprising economic world order, Israel could gain a degree of wealth not seen since the days of King Solomon.

For the Western world, strong new alliances between certain non-Western countries constitute something of a mystery. But while the West is distracted by political uprisings and remains enamored with the idea of its own “manifest destiny,” a new world order is emerging, dominated by up-and-coming global superpowers like Russia, China and India.

Over the past eight years, many unexpected diplomatic changes have occurred. The Islamic Republic of Iran has formed a partnership with the “infidel” nation of Russia. Less than two years ago, Russia moved into Syria, and shows no signs of leaving. And Syria, despite its own problem with radical Islam, has strengthened bonds with Iran’s fundamentalist regime.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has taunted Western Europe, preferring to pander to Moscow and Beijing. And China, though physically distant, has subtly installed troops in Syria.

China’s fleets are also appearing in joint exercises with Iran in the Persian Gulf and Russia in the Mediterranean.

As for Israel, how is it that this small country, a mere sliver of land, is accorded such deference? The world’s only Jewish state is making deals with Turkey, Russia and China, in spite of their alliances with Iran, which is dedicated to Israel’s annihilation. Why is Jerusalem pursuing such deals? And, ambivalent at best about Israel, why are these nations agreeing to them? A new world order, difficult for the West to recognize, answers many of these questions.

About six months after Barack Obama began his first term as US president, a new partnership was born in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.

On June 16, 2009, leaders from Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) met to discuss ways to impact the global financial situation “to reflect changes in the world economy.”

Reuters noted at the time that “BRIC nations account for 15 percent of the $60.7 trillion global economy, but Goldman Sachs predicts that in 20 years time, the four countries could together dwarf the G7 and China’s economy will overtake the United States in total size.”

Indeed, eight years later, those four nations – along with the addition of South Africa, hence BRICS – are rapidly moving toward a position of global economic dominance.

Economic growth is skyrocketing, especially in China and India. In comparison, GDP growth in the US and the UK already look like what Reuters predicted.

BRICS has also established its own international bank, called NDB. Under the auspices of the BRICS member states, its purpose is to finance infrastructure projects inside those member states.

China has started another initiative that, according to global economist Jean-Pierre Lehmann, could bring about “the most dramatic transformation of the world economy since the Industrial Revolution.”

The project is called the Belt and Road Initiative. Unveiled only four years ago, it will take an estimated $7.5 trillion to develop. But the benefit is nothing less than an explosion of prosperity, not just for participating countries but for the whole world. No less than 75 nations have joined the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce.

Members include all the Eastern Goliaths: China, Russia and India. For those keeping an eye on Israel, other notable members along with the Jewish state include Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar and the Palestinian Territories.

Because China’s most important land “road” runs straight through the countries in this region. A second major route is noted below.

The land road begins in the Chinese city of Xi’an. Its path runs directly through Tehran. Moving into Iraq, it then either goes directly into Turkey or through Syria to both Turkey and the Mediterranean.

If China’s land road goes through Syria, as Tehran hopes it will, it will connect at the Mediterranean for shipping exports to Europe, Africa, North America and South America.

Russia is guarding the Mediterranean with a fully developed and growing seaport. Iran may be connected to the western sea, but Russia is determined to hold its coastal key.

Israel is only miles south of the China land road, and only miles north of its proposed sea road.

The latter, sometimes called the Maritime Road, connects China with Southeast Asia, India, East Africa and, upwards through the Suez Canal, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Geographically, Israel is just off-center. Why then is it treated with such respect, especially by the likes of Russia and China? Already, Israel is getting under the skin of other members in the Silk Road International Chamber of Commerce. Its huge gas and oil fields just offshore in the Mediterranean are on the verge of piping fuel directly to Europe, cutting into Russia’s market.

Maneuvering its way into the transport of goods via China’s land and sea roads, Israel is floating the idea of an alternate shipping route to Egypt’s costly Suez Canal. It will be cheaper and faster, Israel argues, to deliver goods to Eilat, transfer them to a highspeed train that goes to Ashdod on the Mediterranean, and from there ship goods throughout the world. In response, Cairo is already calling foul.

Most importantly, Israel is positioned to guard the world’s Internet. Everything today is traded, controlled and administered online. And Israel is emerging as the world’s number one guardian of the worldwide web. That means, regardless of being a few miles offtrack from China’s Land and Maritime Roads, it is positioned to be the center of both belts.

Economists worry that China’s ambition could trigger a global economic collapse; a currency collapse, specifically. Maybe BRICS and One Belt One Road don’t care. A global currency collapse might be seen as a way to wipe the slate clean of nation-based currencies, especially the US dollar, and establish an international one: like Bitcoin, perhaps.

If Bitcoin is the model for a new Internet-based global currency, Israel is likely to be its guardian too, protecting that currency from hackers around the world.

As chief of security for the world’s information and currency, and with energy independence, Israel stands to gain substantial wealth.

It is a position that explains the willingness of Russia and China to negotiate with Israel today; it is also a position that will invoke resentment tomorrow.

Feeding that resentment will be the small matter of Iran’s determination to annihilate the Jewish state. Inasmuch as it becomes Israel’s neighbor in Syria and Lebanon (as, arguably, it already has), Tehran’s ambition to destroy Israel becomes all but irresistible.

For the sake of trade, China does not want this war. For the same reason, neither does Russia.

Perhaps someone will come along and, strictly for the sake of business, bring peace to the Middle East. But if such a treaty failed, or if for any reason Israel becomes an economic threat to BRICS and One Belt One Road, it is feasible that Russia will descend, China will march and Tehran will launch.

Why? To extract the sliver-sized country, to unblock the flow of commerce, and to deal with “the Jewish problem” once and for all.

This with many other things happening this year with the peace initiatives, the temple mount violence, and the Rev 12 sign theory, I don't think it'll be long until crap hits the fan.

I agree. I think there has to be a catalyst though.

These past couple months we have been hearing about Trump having a plan for middle east peace and seems to have made some very promising progress until this suddenly happens due to an impulsive act of terrorism.

Reminds me of a little gem of a verse...

"While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape." ~1 Thessalonians 5:3

Jordanian King, Abbas discuss Al-Aqsa

Jordan's King Abdullah II on Wednesday spoke with Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas about the crisis surrounding in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Jordanian news agency Petra reported that in a phone call, King Abdullah and Abbas stressed the importance of continuing coordination to bring the situation back to what it was before the outbreak of the crisis and to ensure that the historical and legal status of the mosque are respected.

King Abdullah is working to calm the tensions around the Temple Mount as the Palestinian Arab public continues to refuse to go up to the compound, even after the Cabinet decided to remove the metal detectors that were placed at the entrance following the recent terrorist attack at the compound.

On Tuesday night, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu ordered detailed manual inspections of Muslim worshipers on the Temple Mount, as a substitute for the metal detectors and security cameras that were removed. However, police sources said that the directive is not applicable, and that it will not be possible to inspect every worshiper who wishes to enter the compound.

Temple Mount boycott continues

“We won’t go to pray [on the Temple Mount] until the cameras are removed,” a shopkeeper said on Wednesday, as Muslims prepared for afternoon prayers.

As in the past weeks since the July 14 terrorist attack, hundreds gathered outside the gates leading to the Temple Mount and al-Aksa Mosque and prayed on the stone streets of the Old City.

At the Gate of the Tribes, a focal point for the prayer protests, about a hundred women showed their support.

Around 1 p.m. they lined up for prayers while men came and handed out prayer rugs to those didn’t have. A young boy sprinkled water from a jug onto the worshipers. It was 36 degrees in the Old City, hot and sweaty.

The women came earlier in the day from around Jerusalem and held impromptu Koran classes. Some rested, while others took water from men passing out bottles for free.

A community has grown around Lions’ Gate over the past two weeks, with prayer leaders coming and going as locals gathered to protest against Israeli policy.

Israel removed the contested metal detectors on Tuesday, after they were installed following the terrorist attack but this did not assuage the prayer protests. Rumors on social media also claimed Israel was digging up parts of the pavement outside the Gate of the Tribes and that the “cameras show naked bodies of Palestinian worshipers.”

Israeli police knows the situation is combustible.

On Tuesday night clashes broke out and tear gas was fired, according to videos posted of the incidents. Palestinian media claimed two journalists were wounded near Lions’ Gate, along with dozens of protesters.

The metal detectors are gone, but it appears new metal guide-ways have been installed, the kind one might have to keep people in line at a movie theater or fastfood restaurant.

All of this has angered the worshipers as well as several foreign countries. A Kuwaiti politician condemned Israel, as has Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistan.

Walking around the Old City on Wednesday most things seemed calm. Tourists went about fumbling for maps, getting lost and were also harassed by shop owners.

A tourist map and an explanatory sign near the Church of Saint Anne were covered in stickers supporting al-Aksa, with Arabic writing and a photo of the Dome of the Rock.

A crowd of Jewish youths on the Via Dolorosa feared entering the Lions’ Gate area, while a large number of Muslims prayed, as it could lead to altercations.

Their tour guides and security hastily asked local Special Patrol Unit (Yasam) riot police where they should go.

The police sent them down to the Austrian Hospice on Hagai Street, al-Wad Street in Arabic, where the group promptly got flustered again.

On Wednesday, police also asked journalists to keep their distance and in some cases asked them to refrain from taking pictures.

A video posted online showed perhaps why. In it, a woman was filmed shouting at police about the victory of Allah over Israel.

The security forces allegedly feel that media presence may encourage incitement and clashes.

Another video showed a journalist being removed from the area near the Gate of the Tribes.

Without cameras present, the prayers seemed to end relatively peacefully.

In any case, the removal of the metal detectors has not put much of a dent in the protest movement.

Israel, Palestinians urge UN to help restore calm in Middle East

In the wake of escalating tension between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, representatives of both countries called for the United Nations to help restore calm to the region.

Despite Israel’s decision Monday night to remove metal detectors from an area known to Israelis as the Temple Mount and by Palestinian as the Al Haram Al Sharif, Palestinians reject proposed changes in security. Earlier this month, two Israeli border policemen were killed by Arab Israeli attackers at the site that is home to the Al Aksa Mosque. It is an area considered holy to both Muslims and Jews.

The Palestinian Authority’s UN representative, Riyad Mansour, told the Security Council “de-escation is urgent.” He accused Israel of “provocative violations of the historic status quo.”

Mansour said Israel had aggravated religious sensitivities to the point of eruption.

Mansour did not mention last week’s knife attack by a Palestinian that left three Israelis dead at a West Bank settlement. He told the council Palestinians are “an unarmed and defenseless people.” The attacker’s father said his son launched the rampage because he wanted to protect the honor of the Al Aksa Mosque.

Israel’s UN ambassador, Danny Danon, called the attack at the Halamish settlement an atrocity “that did not happen in a vacuum.” He accused the Palestinian leadership of inciting violence. He said “Israel’s top priority is to maintain the safety and security of all Temple Mount visitors."

Sitting behind Danon as he spoke was Oran Almog, who was blinded and suffered other serious injuries when a Palestinian suicide bomber blew herself up in 2003 at a restaurant in the Israeli city of Haifa. Danon said the bomber's family and her accomplices received more than half a million dollars in “total terror payments” from the Palestinian Authority.

Danon said the Palestinian Authority in 2016 spent more than $300 million rewarding “mass killers with innocent blood on their hands.” He said the Authority spends more on paying terrorists than on higher education. He told the council almost 30 percent of foreign aid meant for humanitarian purposes ends up in the hands of terrorists and their families.

U.S. United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley briefly addressed the council on the recent violence and tension at the Temple Mount.

“It is vital,” she said, “both access and security is ensured.”

Israel's former foreign minister warns of holy war with Muslim world

Israel's former foreign minister has warned Israel is on the verge of a holy war with the Muslim world.

Tzipi Livni said tactical differences over security measures at a holy site in Jerusalem have deteriorated into something far worse and could result in a religious battle.

On Monday, Ms Livni told Israel's Army Radio: "We are a step away from turning our conflict with the Palestinians, and cooperation with Jordan and other Sunni nations, into a pan-Muslim event against the state of Israel."

She said the Israeli cabinet needed to show leadership to prevent such a conflict from happening.

Israel's security cabinet decided to remove the metal detectors at entry points to the shrine, known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as the Temple Mount.

They are to be replaced by "smart cameras" to monitor worshippers, with increased Israeli security forces in the area until the plan is implemented.

But Rami Hamdallah, the Palestinian Prime Minister, and the senior Muslim cleric who oversees the holy compound both turned down the new Israeli measures and demanded all of them be removed.

"We reject all obstacles that hinder freedom of worship and we demand the return to the situation where things stood before July 14," Mr Hamdallah told his cabinet in Ramallah in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

The Waqf, the religious body that runs the Islamic sites in the al-Aqsa compound, said worshippers would continue to stay away from the elevated, marble-and-stone plaza and pray in the streets outside.

The installation of the metal detectors set off widespread protests and deadly Israeli-Palestinian violence over the past week. Large crowds of Muslim worshippers prayed outside the shrine in protest every day, refusing to pass through the metal detectors.

At least four Palestinians were killed in street clashes, while three Israeli settlers were stabbed to death in their West Bank home.

On Sunday, two Jordanians were killed by an Israeli guard after one attacked him with a screwdriver at the Israeli embassy in Jordan.

While the metal detectors are being dismantled, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged Muslims across the world to "visit" and "protect" Jerusalem.

"From here I make a call to all Muslims. Anyone who has the opportunity should visit Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa mosque,” Mr Erdogan said in Ankara.

“Come, let’s all protect Jerusalem," he added.

Praying for our leaders is all that is required brother. We don't have to like them. Happy 4th to you also. :)

Donald Trump is the Greatest President we have had since Washington, and ordained by God IMHO. I really don't get a Christian not seeing the Dark Forces coming against him. Russia is a LIE, if you research a little you would find that out.

The Peace Agreement you refer to is largely based on a few Bible Scriptures. Chief among these is I Thessalonians 5:3 where it states "For when they say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them".

As you stated above, clearly this "perceived" Peace is not a "factual" condition, but one based on delusion. Like when Neville Chamberlain declared his meeting with Adolf Hitler would bring about "Peace In Our Time". Chamberlain was clearly delus

Daniel 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

The First Seal is the release of the White Horse or Anti-Christ, the Red Horse is then released or the 2nd Seal and we get this:

Rev. 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Why is this Horse not mention under the moniker of "Bringing War to the earth"? Instead its mentioned as "Taking Peace from the Earth". Its basically the same thing, but God wants us to know that there is a "FAKE PEACE/SECURITY" that is brokered by this guy, the Daniel 8:25 verse when you look up the word comes down more on the side of a "Security" deal in reality. NATO is a kind of Security deal more than a Peace deal. I think this is the kind of deal that is forced on Israel if you translate Daniel 9:27 correctly it basically says that this deal is A FORCED DEAL, because it mentions him being insolent (confirm).

This is how I see everything going down. This leader is a European Union President. Everything is moving towards what I have been seeing for awhile now. The Radical Muslims are invading Europe via consent, but there is only going to be 10 Nations so the European Union is going to be a changing, watch and see. The people are going to rise up in protest to these thugs. This Anti-Christ is going to gain worldwide prestige by tackling the Radical Muslim problem. These crazies blowing everybody else up will be dealt with. This will please the Europeans and Israel, but then this Man/Beast will put pressure on Israel to place their trust in him, he will guarantee their Safety, but he put pressure on them with an either or threat. They look at what he did with Radical Islam and the fact he is going to make the Arab nations disarm also and they agree to this "Security Deal" kind of like we protected Germany and Japan for 50 years.

So he forces a Security Deal with "MANY" which will be all of the Arab countries and Israel. Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Rev. 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Lets start here, we see that this Peace/Security Deal is broken/reneged on in the Middle of the Week, we see that the Anti-Christ becomes a BEAST when he Conquers Jerusalem, for 42 Months (Middle of the Week). The White Horse goes forth to conquer and takes away the PEACE that he has brought forth. It all fits together. Want some more timing? The Day f the Lord is also a 3.5 year period of Gods wrath, we know it goes from the 6th Seal to the Last Vial because the beginning of that day is described in many places. Joel 2 being one of them, so it can;t be ONE DAY, and my position is God is perfect and has perfect symmetry, all of the Seals are the Lambs Wrath, so the Wrath of God or Day of the Lord is a 3.5 year period.

Israel flees from the Anti-Christ/Beast and God protects them for 1260 Days (3.5 Years) in the Wilderness. The Two-witnesses show up and preach/witness for 1260 Days also, but they die before the Anti-Christ does, so they have to show up BEFORE the Beast Conquers Israel, they therefore come to turn Israel back to God BEFORE the Great and terrible Day of the Lord. And that is Scriptural.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

God Sends Elijah and some other person BEFORE the Day of the Lord to turn Israel back to the God (to their fathers ways).

Everything in Last Days Prophecy is centered around a 3.5 year period, whether it be called a Time, times and a 1/2 a time, 42 Months, 1260 Days or the Middle of the Week. Everything points to a PEACE AGREEMENT/SECURITY DEAL, between the Anti-Christ and MANY, not just Israel.

How is it that so many people who study Bible prophecy cannot see the forthcoming fire judgement? It must be attributed to Scriptures that say it will only be possible to know God’s plans just prior to the end time events. 1 So many are sticking to incorrect ideas, such as a pre Tribulation ‘rapture’ and a nuclear war and they misplace or ignore prophetic verses. 2

Over one hundred scriptures tell of a terrible Day of fire and earthquakes, that will affect all of the world – vivid details of a tremendous destruction that cannot be matched with the war of Gog and Magog or the Return of Jesus.3 Prophesy tells plainly how the Middle East countries and cities will be destroyed, 4 and that God will turn the weapons of those commencing to attack the State of Israel upon their own heads. 5

The nature and extent of this fire judgement rules out any man made explanation. It is clearly stated that the Lord Himself will instigate His Day of vengeance and wrath upon all the inhabitants of the earth. 6 The verses in Isaiah 30:26...the sun will shine with seven times its normal strength... and Malachi 4:1 The Day comes, burning like a furnace, are the ones that tell us exactly what means the Lord will use to carry it out. There has, in the past been sunspot activity that has seriously affected the earth, but a really large Coronal Mass Ejection will cause all the prophesied devastation and deaths worldwide. 7 This terrifying and shocking disaster of a fireball that envelopes the earth, will hit suddenly and unexpectedly, killing anyone caught outside. 8 Millions will die from the initial strike and millions more from the fighting and famine afterwards. 9

To re-establish law and order, a One World government will be agreed to, with the world divided into ten regions, each headed by its own president. 10 In Israel, the Messianic Jewish remnant who survive by hiding underground, 11 will be joined by their Christian brethren 12 God knows who they are and He will motivate them to emigrate to the new country of Beulah, to all of that area promised to the Patriarchs. 13 They will experience the great blessings that God has promised to His righteous faithful Christian people and they will fulfill their destiny. 14

In a few years, a world dictator will come to power and will eventually take control of Beulah and he will desecrate the new Temple. This starts the Great Tribulation, then 3½ years later Jesus returns to commence His Millennium reign. 15

Just when do we get to truly understand the prophetic Scriptures? It cannot be that God will say to us after the end times have all happened, “Ha Ha, you dummies, for all your philosophy, sciences and religious studies, you couldn’t figure out what I gave you in your Bible.” No, God will lift the veil from the minds of the few who earnestly seek the truth, those who put aside preconceived notions and renounce erroneous teachings. 16 1 Thessalonians 5:4 You, friends, are not in the dark... The Lord will enlighten us if we search the Word, in humility and with the right motives.

‘By no means for peace’: China accuses India of massing troops & supplies amid border dispute

India is creating infrastructure and deploying a large number of troops on its side of the border at the disputed area in the Himalayas, China's foreign ministry has said, adding, that New Delhi’s actions indicate it’s not interested in a peaceful resolution of the standoff.

The impasse between the neighbors and BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) partners began on June 18, when Indian troops were sent to the strategic Doklam valley, which separates India from Bhutan. New Delhi said the move was necessary to curb Chinese road construction on the Himalayan plateau, which, according to the India, violates the status quo.

Beijing, which views Doklam – or as it calls it ‘Donglang’ – a part of Chinese territory, has accused India of breaching an internationally recognized border.

“Over one month has passed since the outbreak of the incident. The Indian border troops still illegally stay in the Chinese territory. Moreover, the Indian side is building roads, hoarding supplies and deploying a large number of armed forces on the Indian side of the boundary,” Geng Shuang, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said.

“This is by no means for peace,” Geng emphasized as cited by China's Xinhua news agency.

The spokesman provided several other arguments, which, according to Beijing, prove that India is looking to escalate the situation in Doklam.

“China had notified the Indian side about the road works through the border meeting mechanism on May 18 and June 8 and the Indian side did not make any response,” he said.

Instead of acknowledging its mistake, Geng said, India is coming up with “fabricated” excuses for the “illegal” presence of its troops in the area, including “the so-called ‘security concerns,’ the ‘issue of tri-junction’ and at the request of Bhutan.”

The foreign ministry spokesman added that New Delhi’s “unreasonable demands” to Beijing also “demonstrated its lack of sincerity for resolving the incident.”

The Indian Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, said Thursday that New Delhi was committed to solving the crisis at the negotiating table.

“War is never the solution to a dispute. Wisdom is to resolve issues diplomatically. We're not only negotiating over Doklam, but discussing bilateral relations with China as well. This is the only solution,” Swaraj said as cited by The Times of India.

Geng shot back that India always willingly talks about peace, but “we should not only listen to its words, but also heed its deeds.”

“If the Indian side truly cherishes peace, what it should do is to immediately pull back the trespassing border troops to the Indian side of the boundary,” he said.

Some 48 Indian troops – out of 270 who entered Doklam on June 18 – remain in the disputed area, Geng said, adding, there’s also large concentration of Indian forces on its side of the border.

However, the Times of India newspaper claimed that 400 Indian soldiers were deployed to Doklam and none of them have left.

The paper further reports that the Indian military currently has around 8,500 servicemen deployed on its side of the border just outside the disputed area.

China demands immediate withdrawal of Indian troops from Chinese territory

China on Wednesday stated that India should immediately withdraw its forces from Chinese territory.

In the official statement (PDF), the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Beijing will take all necessary measures to safeguard its legitimate and lawful rights and interests.

Dispute Review
On June 18, 2017, more than 270 Indian border troops, carrying weapons and driving two bulldozers, crossed into Chinese territory in the Sikkim Sector of the Duo Ka La (Doka La) pass region, advancing more than 100 metres into China to obstruct the construction of a road, thus causing tensions in the area.

In addition to the two bulldozers, the trespassing Indian border troops, reaching up to 400 at one point, established three tents and reached more than 180 metres into the Chinese territory. As of the end of July, there were still more than 40 Indian border troops and one bulldozer illegally camped

Citing a document released by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 2, 2017, namely "The Facts and China's Position Concerning the Indian Border Troops' Crossing of the China-India Boundary in the Sikkim Sector into the Chinese Territory", Beijing has expressed its firm stance on the recent dispute and highlighting the following:

Highlight 1
Since the 1980s, China and Bhutan, as two independent sovereign states, have been engaged in negotiations and consultations to resolve their boundary issues. The two sides have, so far, had 24 rounds of talks and reached a broad consensus. Although the boundary has yet to be formally delimited, the two sides have conducted joint surveys in the border area and have a basic consensus on the actual state of the border area and the alignment of the boundary.

Highlight 2
The China-Bhutan boundary issue is one between China and Bhutan. It has nothing to do with India. As a third party, India has no right to interfere or impede the boundary talks between China and Bhutan, and still less right to make territorial claims on Bhutan's behalf.

Highlight 3
Since the incident occurred, China has shown the utmost goodwill and great restraint, while seeking to communicate with India through diplomatic channels to resolve the incident. But no country should ever underestimate the resolve of the Chinese Government and people to defend China's territorial sovereignty. China will take all necessary measures to safeguard its legitimate and lawful rights and interests.

Highlight 4
The Chinese side urges the Indian Government to: keep in mind the larger interest of bilateral relations, and the well-being of the two peoples; abide by the 1890 Convention and the delimited China-India boundary established therein; respect China's territorial sovereignty; observe the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and other basic principles of international law and basic norms governing international relations; immediately withdraw its trespassing border troops back to the Indian side of the boundary; and, finally, conduct a thorough investigation into the illegal trespassing so as to swiftly and appropriately resolve the incident and restore peace and tranquillity to the border area between the two countries.

Speaking to reporters, Mattis added that the U.S. military would "take out" any North Korean missile it detects is heading for American soil, including Guam, a U.S. territory. Mattis said the U.S. would detect a missile of that nature heading towards Guam "within moments."

Mattis added that if North Korea fires at the U.S., "it could escalate into war very quickly... yes, that's called war, if they shoot at us."

Floods kill hundreds across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iran and Africa
Floods kill hundreds across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iran and Africa

Kathmandu (AFP) Aug 14, 2017

At least 165 people have died and thousands have fled their homes as monsoon floods swept across Nepal, India and Bangladesh, officials said Monday, warning the toll could rise as the extent of the damage becomes clear.

Three days of relentless downpours sparked flash floods and landslides that have killed at least 70 people in Nepal, 73 across northern and eastern India and 22 in Bangladesh.

Around 200,000 people are living in emergency camps in Assam in northeast India, which suffers frequent flooding during the annual monsoon rains.

Another 15,000 have had to leave their homes in the eastern state of Bihar, which borders Nepal and where one official said seven rivers were at danger levels.
