When & Where Will The Battle of Armageddon Take Place ?

It is that period of time in the prophetic timetable, yet to take place, describing the Day of the Lord, in Dan.9:27. The 70th and final week of god's decree upon the destiny of Israel, a seven year period of tribulation, in which the last 3.5 years of it will be the worst in the history of the world, which is known as the Great Tribulation, recorded in Mt.24:21. It will be led by the final world ruler before the return of Christ, known as the antichrist, who Satan will give his throne, power and great authority to, in Rev.13. The false prophet, will be his right hand man, and are the two beasts of Rev.13. They will have the ten horns, the symbol for a ten nation confederation, in their army, as allies, and fully represent the Godless and the wicked/evil of the world.

When Jesus returns in His second coming to the earth, near the end of the coming seven year tribulation, in Rev.19:14, He will bring with Him, all of His angels and all members of His Church, in His armies from heaven, according to Mt.24:31 and Rev.19:14, Zech.14:5 and Jude 14, all of whom represent the righteous and good people of the earth, our Lord, Jesus Christ will lead into the battle of Armageddon, against the two beasts, the antichrist, the false prophet and the ten nations alled to them, and will completely destroy them, recorded in Rev.19:17-20.

The first mention in the of what is going to be the battle of Armageddon, is the parenthetic passage about the "harvest of the earth," in Rev.14:11-20. Where we are told the blood will flow as high as the horses bridles, for 200 miles! How horrible that is going to be!
The chronological order of the actual event is found in Rev.19:17-21.

This final world war, the battle of Armageddon will take place In the Valley of Jezreel and the Plain of Esdraelon at the foot of Mount Megiddo where the scene of many decisive incidents in the history of Israel: The victory over Sisera sung by Deborah and Barak [Judges 5:19-20]; Gideon's defeat of Midian [6:33]; Saul's death at the hands of the Philistines [1 Sam.31 cf 2 Sam.4:4]; Josiah's death in battle with Pharaoh Neco [2 Kgs.23:29-30]; Ahaziah's death when he fled there [9:27]. The town of Megiddo guarded the pass that formed the easiest caravan route between the plain of Sharon and the Valley of Jezreel, and the low mountains around were silent witnesses of more bloody encounters than any other spot on earth. Hence the appropriateness of this place for the vast conflict pictured in Revelation 16.

The two mountains of brass [Zech.6], indicate a time of judgment and the exact location refers to the valley between Mt. Zion, the temple mount, and the Mt. of Olives. This valley is called the Valley of Jehoshaphat in Joel 3:2, 12, also known as the Valley of Kiddron.. This is the valley of judgment as indicated in Joel 3:14 - "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision." The multitude of Jewish graves on the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives express their desire to be close to the front of the line on judgment day, thinking this to be the time of greater leniency. Some scholars believe this to be the location of the battle of Armageddon, which is more than likely, where it will end up, with Jerusalem being the focal point of it, according to Zech.14.

The World Power at the time this takes place:

As to the four beasts of Dan.7:3-7, they refer to the first four major world powers of: Babylon; Medo-Persia; Greece and Rome. The latter was the world power during the time of Jesus first advent.

Then it takes a turn into the future, a prophecy, with reference to the fourth beast, Rome, who has ten horns. Which means, the fourth world power during Jesus first advent, will be the revived final world power, made up of the same nations the original Roman Empire consisted of, such as the European Union, at Jesus return to the earth in His second advent. We see here that the fourth world power, which was Rome, will be revived into the eighth world power, which was of the first seven, according to Rev.17:9-11.

According to Rev.17:8-13, we find there is three additional world powers in addition to the original four mentioned in Dan.7:3-7, but they are not identified. Mention of an eighth world power/kingdom, will be that of the antichrist, who will come out of the revived Roman Empire that made up the old fourth world power, Rome.

In Rev.17:14, is revealed, as described above, the antichrist, false prophet and the ten/nations [vs 12] fight against Jesus and His armies from heaven with His "called, faithful and chosen," [His entire Church] who participate in the battle of Armageddon and defeat/destroy them.

You need to read philip pulmans dark matterial trilogy.
The attempts by those to overthrow the rule of 'the Authority' aka God are as pointless as any attempt to put a timetable and plan of action to Gods plan for the return of Jesus.

All we needto know is that he is will come again.

I once saw a "prophecy expert" give a lesson on what things will look like as Revelation becomes reality and I kid you not this guy literally just recited scriptures to tell his vision. No trying to explain what they meant or how it could happen, just such things as:

The angel of the Lord will at that time open a bottomless pit...

Big shiny locusts that will wear armor...

Etc

I thought to myself this guy must make lots of money to be such a charlatan. But people can be easily removed from their $$$ I guess

Answer: The word “Armageddon” comes from a Hebrew word Har-Magedone, which means “Mount Megiddo” and has become synonymous with the future battle in which God will intervene and destroy the armies of the Antichrist as predicted in biblical prophecy (Revelation 16:16; 20:1-3). There will be a multitude of people engaged in the battle of Armageddon, as all the nations gather together to fight against Christ.

The exact location of the valley of Armageddon is unclear because there is no mountain called Meggido. However, since “Har” can also mean hill, the most likely location is the hill country surrounding the plain of Meggido, some sixty miles north of Jerusalem. More than two hundred battles have been fought in that region. The plain of Megiddo and the nearby plain of Esdraelon will be the focal point for the battle of Armageddon, which will rage the entire length of Israel as far south as the Edomite city of Bozrah (Isaiah 63:1). The valley of Armageddon was famous for two great victories in Israel’s history: 1) Barak’s victory over the Canaanites (Judges 4:15) and 2) Gideon’s victory over the Midianites (Judges 7). Armageddon was also the site for two great tragedies: 1) the death of Saul and his sons (1 Samuel 31:8) and 2) the death of King Josiah (2 Kings 23:29-30; 2 Chronicles 35:22).

Because of this history, the valley of Armageddon became a symbol of the final conflict between God and the forces of evil. The word “Armageddon” only occurs in Revelation 16:16, “Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.” This speaks of the kings who are loyal to the Antichrist gathering together for a final assault on Israel. At Armageddon “the cup filled with the wine of the fury of [God’s] wrath” (Revelation 16:19) will be delivered, and the Antichrist and his followers will be overthrown and defeated. “Armageddon” has become a general term that refers to the end of the world, not exclusively to the battle that takes place in the plain of Megiddo.

What is the battle of Armageddon?

When & Where Will The Battle of Armageddon Take Place ?
At Mt. Meggido 7 years after the Rapture. Simplistic answer, being facetious.

They will have the ten horns, the symbol for a ten nation confederation, in their army, as allies, and fully represent the Godless and the wicked/evil of the world

The Ten Nations of Europe is the KEY, England just left, Poland is threatening to leave before they allow any Muslims into their country and France today threatened to leave, so there seems to be a shaking going on NOW.

On the GREAT TRIBULATION, it seems this gets confused somewhat, so much that Rev. 7 gets confused. The Greatest Time of Trouble ever is a Seven year period Jesus and Daniel spoke of. The Great Tribulation spoken of in Rev. 7 is the 2000 year period or the Church age where the Church which is shown in Rev. 7 came out of. John in Rev. 1 said he lived in continual tribulation. There were many Martyrs of Christians before the Rapture, most every disciple met a death of Martyrdom, save a few, many Christians today die in Muslim worlds. The Great Tribulation Jogn is speaking of in Rev. 7 is the 2000 year period, not the 7 year period which is ongoing as he spoke. Those Martyrs must wait until the Anti-Christs 42 month reign is over, or until their fellow servants had been killed also (Seal #5). Just wanted to clarify that.

This is all true, but there will be no battle per se. In Daniel 2 and Daniel 8 we see that Jesus defeats (Prince of princes) defeats the Anti-Christ WITHOUT HANDS and in Rev. 19 we see that he defeats the Anti-Christ by the Sword of his Mouth, this tells us the Holy Spirit destroys the Anti-Christ and all of his evil minions. So it will not be much of a battle, he will be Defeated just like the Universe was created, by a spoken word. Amen.

Rev. 14, 16 and 18 is the same event, just told with different angles. The Harvest, the Vial Judgment, and the Seal, Trumpet and Vial Judgments of Rev. 18. Rev. 19 is the whole Seven years of the Tribulation from the Churches perspective in Heaven. Its ends at the Battle of Armageddon just like Rev. 14, 16 and 18.

I don't think the "Revived World Power" is the operative word thus neither is the Revived Roman Empire. The Fourth Beast and the "Little Horn Beast" are two separate Beasts on their own, the latter only Arises out of the Head or out of the same territory 2000 some odd years later.

The key to understanding this is two passages in Dan. 7. Firstly we are told about the first three Beast that arise, then the Fourth Beast and the a Little Horn who arises with 10 Horns at the End Times......

Dan. 7:11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. 12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

{{ This clearly Speaks of the Little Horn as a BEAST, and as a MAN who is cast into hell. Rev. 19:20 says the same thing. The Other Beasts (Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome) were allowed to live after they lost their Dominion, but the LAST BEAST will be cast straight into hell with no extension added to his lifespan. }}

Dan. 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another (Little Horn) shall rise after them; and he (Anti-Christ) shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

{{ Notice, the Fourth Beast shall be diverse from ALL the Beasts (Babylon, Persia and Greece) but the Little Horn/Anti-Christ/Beast shall be diverse FROM THE FIRST, or from Rome, the First Kingdom of these two that are tied together via the Scriptures. It is very obvious. }}

There is no 8th Kingdom however, that is a misnomer. The 8th King is a Demon entity, he was OVER THE SEVEN because that was his job, he is Apollyon, the Destroyer, his job was to destroy Israel. So Seven World Kingdoms that came against Israel to Conquer, Enslave or Rule Israel are: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome, then Israel was a Dead Men's Bones and they were no more, thus the could be NO BEAST. But alas, Israel was reborn just as Ezekiel prophesied, those bones came Alive again. Now we can have the Seventh Beast come forth, and that will be the Little Horn or the Anti-Christ/Beast, he will Conquer Jerusalem/Israel and thus he is the 7th Head of the Seven Headed Beast.

According to the Scriptures, the following reveals Jesus second coming to the earth, with His Church, from their marriage in heaven, according to Rev.19-7-8, to fight the battle o Armageddon, against the two beasts, i.e., the Antichrist, the False Prophet, and the ten horns/nations allied to them. The two beast are thrown into the lake of fire and the armies o the ten horns/nations, are detroyed, as the Scriptures reveal in the following: The bttle o Armageddon is a one time affair, described in Rev.14:14-20.

Rev.19:11 "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."

The harvet of the earth - describing Armageddon: {NASB]

Rev.14:14 "Then I looked, and behold, a a son of man, having a golden temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “is ripe.” 16 Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.

17 And another angel temple which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18 Then another angel, from the vine of the earth, swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into for a distance of two hundred miles.?"
