Personally I don't see anywhere in the bible where God prefers our consciousness to reside in a carbon based housing over a silicone based housing.

You mean, apart from the fact that it's the only way he's ever done it? A man goes into an ice cream parlor every day of his life and buys only strawberry ice cream every time, and you suggest that he's never said anything about preferring strawberry over chocolate.

Besides which, there has been no demonstrable evidence that human consciousness could ever be transferred to something else, or that, if transferable, it could reside in silicone. The mechanism of spiritual interaction with a physical object is not objective science, because it involves the supernatural, which is by definition not accessible to scientific study. Therefore, because all technology is an application of science, this thing of which you speak is nothing but a fantasy.

Ray Kurzweil and Dmitry Iskov from 2045.com wants to end death completely and wants humanity to live forever in a "avator" by 2045 and it's becoming a midstream now. This is not a joke and they are completely serious about this. I for one believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead three days later. But I can not bare to live inside an avator for eternity.

Ray Kurzweil is a very smart man no doubt about it, but I in fear transhumanism will become a reality by a quarter of a century from now, and I hope he's wrong about the singularity and transhumanism.

They even think they can one day transfer your soul and consisouness to an avator from the human body one day.

Also some people aim to bring back the dead. I strongly disagree with that. Do you think that's possible?

Technology is improving at an alarming rate and we will never know what they will be capable of in the future. Hopefully the second coming of Christ is coming to stop all this.

Would transhumanism defeat death, if so, you can still choose to die and go to heaven with Jesus right? I for one would hate to be forced to be in an avator one day. I would still choose to die even though they invent the technology for immortality.

Would that defeat the purpose of living for Christ and going to Heaven?

Let me know if you guys think about all of this. When they invent the technology to live forever in avators I will still choose to stay in by biological body and die and go the heaven.

For the sake of perspective.

Mankind STILL cannot "create" one single-celled prokaryote life form.

You mean WITHOUT transferring the brain itself? Accessing our conscious mind is a function of the brain

No... I don't mean "apart from the fact that it's the only way he's ever done it..." I mean that it is not in the bible.

Regarding "no demonstrable evidence..." Why look to the past? That is not of faith. The Lord takes no pleasure in those who shrink back.

You're looking back to find answers. That is not where we are called.

The Jews did this too, referencing their forefathers and the traditions of their elders.

Jesus did not like that. He calls us to walk by faith. To keep our eyes on the unseen, not on what is seen.

It never ceases to amaze me how mind numbingly dumb the supposedly well educated can be.
Kurzwell and his ilk have no idea what a human is to begin with. The soul cannot be bottled and transferred to any simulacrum or software. And it's obvious that he has no inkling that we do not have any say in where we go at death, that is subject to the desires of Our Creator.

Death comes to all mortal creatures, that is unavoidable.
The soul has no physical characteristics, there is nothing to preserve or capture from a scientific standpoint.
If, as some have proposed, they copied all of Jane Does mental processes and transferred them to a computer, Jane Doe would still die, be stone dead, and somewhere on some server there would be a software routine that pretends to be Jane Doe. She is still dead and her real self, her soul, would be enjoying whatever afterlife her Earthly behaviors earned her.

But things happen to our minds/souls when the brain is damaged. Are they not connected in some way?

I'm going to start with this verse

Psalms 118:8

I would tend to think He would care less about what houses that spirit and care more about our relationship in knowing Him.

We are created in God's image. It's your decision to reject the natural state of His creation in favor of a human attempt to play God since you find it lacking.

Regarding Babel. Absolutely it sounds like Babel.

Case in point.

I’ve always heard it taught that the result of us coming together with one language was somehow a bad thing. What if that is an incorrect conclusion?

Yeesh. This was obviously bad enough in the sight of God that He acted to foil their resolve by scattering their language. Speculation comes to little avail past this fact, but go ahead.

Also, the result of us coming together with one language and having nothing be impossible for us seems very similar to Jesus saying “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

Then let Jesus bring world peace in His time. There is nothing in scripture to indicate that God desires humanity to deus ex machina.

I believe that He has blessings and life for us and perhaps that He will continue to use tech to bless us more and more.

Don't you realize the dangers in putting so much faith in technological advances that only a few really know how to operate? What if we get hit with an EMP or a Solar Flare that fries all of our electronic stuff out?

I agree with that last sentence. Though I guess you could call me a transhumanist, I wonder that about the solar flares too.

Though we may not actually have to worry much about the solar flares or EMPs after all:

Here is the question.. Who is putting hope and trust up in man? You or me?

@TheSingularity.com
We are created in God's image. It's your decision to reject the natural state of His creation in favor of a human attempt to play God since you find it lacking.

How am I rejecting the natural state of his creation? the natural state changes continually. We now live longer, we now use computers, we now read books, we now uses phones, we now use medicine, we now use pacemakers. These are all changes via tech. We are evolving. Evolving is ok.. That is the point. Just because we use tech to extend our lives does not make us less loved or valuable to God. You judge incorrectly. It is a very outward, works-based judgment you use. God looks at the heart. Do you think a pacemaker sends it's user to hell? How silly is that? And that is tech extending life.

Again, I like to reconsider what gets preached. Why are you so fearful? Don't you see the fear you operate in? Fear has to do with punishment. It comes from an orphan spirit. You act as if you are abandoned in all the fear. This is not good. It is not basking in the love that Jesus has for us. It is also not who you really are. You are not abandoned.

@TheSingularity.com
Yeesh. This was obviously bad enough in the sight of God that He acted to foil their resolve by scattering their language. Speculation comes to little avail past this fact, but go ahead.
If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them....

So who gives the gift of creation man or God? Give glory where glory is due. It is God who gave us the gift of creation to build tech that is healing the sick, letting the lame walk, opening blind eyes... But as it is, YOU are saying that it is from man.
My point is that you need to continue just one single step further in identifying the responsible party. It is God who gets the glory. But you rob Him of that when you say that man is getting that. Why do you do this?

@TheSingularity.com
Then let Jesus bring world peace in His time. There is nothing in scripture to indicate that God desires humanity to deus ex machina.
Who are you to say His time by saying that this is NOT His time? Do you know this? Can you PROVE this? No... Not even the Son knew, but only the father.... So how can you 100% declare that this is not the work of Christ? Are you greater than Jesus who did not know the time?

@TheSingularity.com
Don't you realize the dangers in putting so much faith in technological advances that only a few really know how to operate?
This statement is born of fear. The spirit of fear is not good and you operate in it a lot. God does not call us to walk in fear. Also, you forget... EVERY word spoken in darkness will be proclaimed from the rooftops. In this statement you are allowing a lie that "they" are exempt from the justice of God. Sure, when there is still disconnection, those who do not know who they really are will likely try to take advantage, but this will only be for a short time. Remember EVERY word will be shouted from the rooftops. There are no secrets. The enemy is sowing fear in you over this.

@TheSingularity.com
What if we get hit with an EMP or a Solar Flare that fries all of our electronic stuff out?

I appreciate this question. Eventually we will control matter with our minds, so a solar flare will not be able to happen. Regarding an emp... By the point that an emp will be an actual threat to people existing in computers, emp's will be long gone. How are you going to build an emp without anyone knowing about it if people are existing in computers listening to everything?

Darkness is going away. Division is going away. Privacy as we know it is going away.

This may give you something to think about...

It has nothing to do with Fear and everything to do with Discernment. I'm not going to spend any more time going through all the "what-ifs" you're posing.

We now live longer,

Incorrect, people in the ancient world lived much longer, were much larger, had bigger brow bones to highlight significant aging. Then after the flood God limited it to 120 years.

We are evolving. Evolving is ok.

Humanity and creation are not evolving, in fact quite the opposite, as humans we are de-volving and creation is spiralling towards its final death roll. The ellites know this and that is why they are promoting their Luciferean 2020 agenda to change society into a transhumanist Borg like collective controlled by the state. This is a form of communism and had been adopted previously by communist regimes in Russia. In their time, they didn't have the technology to accomplish their goal, but now they are closer to their singularity communistic agenda. Their idea is of a single technological organism controlling humanity, through an technocratic and technological interface, that will have everyone plugged in, in one way or another.

Look around you by the mass extinctions of species and how fish, birds and animals are turning up dead in the millions. Is this the evolution of species, or a slow degradation leading towards a devolving death cycle, that had been prophesied in the Holy Bible.

Ohh my goodness... It's amazes me how much of the church is controlled by fear.
It's very sad.

Well, you certainly did not answer any of the questions asked...

You are loved and valuable. This is your core identity.

No amount of physical damage affects the soul. The mind is the confluence of consciousness of the brain and soul.

If our personalities make up our souls, then what about when someone gets brain damage and their personality completely changes?

Maybe its high time that God puts you to the test to test your resolve, when he places you in a position to one day fear what you embrace.

Sins of the world are rejected by Christians, because they have the fear of God. People respect what they fear, otherwise, do as though shalt please, if you don't fear the authorities.

Fearlessness is the beginning of rebellionousness!

Atheists and the like seem to get along just fine and they don't feel they have to be afraid of God. Fear is intimidation and threat, not love.
