Its been 2000+ years now and the "end times" have been spotted on numerous occasions, at the end of the first millennium, during the Black Death, during the crusades, WW1, WW2 and no doubt many others.

Will Christians wait for ever, or is there a time when soem will start to think - "this is not going to happen"?

If I had to pick an end time date I would go with the scientist, Isaac Newton...

“And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half.” –Daniel 12:7

From a folio cataloged as Yahuda MS 7.3g, f. 13v:

"So then the time times & half a time are 42 months or 1260 days or three years & an half, reckoning twelve months to a year & 30 days to a month as was done in the Calendar of the primitive year. And the days of short lived Beasts being put for the years of lived kingdoms, the period of 1260 days, if dated from the complete conquest of the three kings A.C. 800, will end A.C. 2060.”" - – Isaac Newton

As Charlemagne was crowned king on December 25, 800 by Pope Leo the III so the day of Christ's coming will be on Christmas Day, 2060. If the rapture of the saints (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) occurs seven years before the time of Christ’s coming the date of the rapture 12.25 2053. However… Isaac Newton notes…

“It may end later, but I see no reason for its ending sooner. This I mention not to assert when the time of the end shall be, but to put a stop to the rash conjectures of fancifull men who are frequently predicting the time of the end, & by doing so bring the sacred prophesies into discredit as often as their predictions fail. Christ comes as a thief in the night, & it is not for us to know the times & seasons which God hath put into his own breast." –- Isaac Newton

Before Christ comes the Anti-Christ must be revealed...

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; - 2 Thessalonians 2:3

Who....

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. - Revelation 13:16-18

I traveled to Tahiti and couldn't help but notice all the electronic devices hooked to databases. All you have to do is swipe your passports and all your information comes up. You can even have your iPhone display your ticket information. We are not far away from having everything stored on a universal database in which we will all be required to be tied to! And for most folk this will be just another tattoo! 2060AD is a very close, scientific, and accurate prediction!

In 1704 Isaac Newton predicts the end of the world in 2060. Which seemed a long way off then... But the date is drawing near!

There were indications in the Bible they thought the end times were 2000 years ago. The Apostles thought it, Jesus implied it, etc.

It was expected to happen 2000 years ago and it never did. Every generation since has tried to claim theirs was the end times, and every one was wrong. I honestly don't think the "second coming" is ever going to happen.

There's not supposed to be any Antichrist. There were just "many antichrists" in the days of the Apostles. That's it.

So do we rip out all the pages that refer to it from the Bible?

You indicate you're a Catholic. Is that what the Catholic church teaches now - no Second Coming?

No, it's simply the conclusion I've come to after reading how they thought for sure the end was upon them in the Bible.

When you think about it, what else is one going to do except wait? :)
How many times does YHWH say in HIS WORD
it is necessary to wait on Him, to serve Him, and to wait for Him - for His Directions.

Yet people routinely deny His Word - reject it most all the time, even "religious" people and teachers including in the world's biggest religion(s).... all opposed to YHWH,

NOT waiting ,
NOT serving Him,
NOT hoping in Him,

rather actively opposed to Him.... all their lives for most of the 7 billion population on earth....

serving demons - INSTEAD of waiting.

That's what the catholic chruch has officially taught for centuries - do you care or want to know or seek to know why ? (if so, google)

They were wrong - just like all the date-setters since then.

Yes, but supposedly what Jesus said (assuming the Bible writers got his words accurate) indicated the same, so no wonder they believed it.

Since the telling of Jesus were written many years later and never directly stated to by by those who had known Jesus, could they have gotten it wrong? Did Jesus really say that? Did they just misinterpret what he said? Was Jesus wrong?

As per the astronomical count of the Zodiac, it has been a gnostic conclusion that a cycle happens every 25,500 +/- 1000 years. Each "age," then, would be around 2000 year +/- 150 years.

Age of Pisces began at 0AD - the actual marking for that age by calender counters designating the beginning to coincide with the new age. It marked the end of Aries - sacrificial lamb.

We are barely on the precipice of the age of Aquarious - the new age. But, the timescales aren't exact. It includes +/- 150 years, and must include Ophiucus.

But, there is much more to the story than an astrological allegory painted in the cosmos to mark signs and seasons - rehashed and recycled to look like legitimate spiritual disciplines are copied. Christ wasn't just the "avatar of Pisces."

It shouldn't be imagined like someone living alone on an island waiting for the rescue boat come, wondering if it will ever come. Christians are not alone. Wherever we are God is a personal and ever present reality to us, so Jesus is always with us on this Island of Earth. Christians will work the field of this world until the day is over and ones wages are earned.

This itself was prophesied. 2 Peter 3:4 "They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation."
