You see, I want to change my life for God, to repent of all my sins, but I feel I may need to dump everything and everyone to do that. I live with my family and they aren't believers. And till now I was finishing college so I could get a full-time career ( healthcare because I want to help people) so I could save up enough to move out and live as God wants me to. But even then would I be living within God's terms if I kept in contact with friends and family, who are not believers? By leaving would I be following God or just running away from it all?

But then I'd put my family and friends through grief if I did that. And I'd be living on the streets cause I don't have enough to live on.

I feel so lost and Idk what to do to follow Jesus properly. Christians tell me to pray and ask and repent receive the Holy Spirit but nothing happens. And I don't get any answers from God.

I believe you think you are in a difficult situation and want to do the right thing. I also am reminded of a Biblical admonition that you might consider.

We are to live in the world but not be of the world.

You seem to me to be determined not to be misled by the world's things and ways ("of" the world), but you also seem to think that to do this requires you to not be in the world, figuratively speaking. That's not what we are called to.

This is what came to mind as i read your post:

I don't think any human can give you advice. God will lead you according to His plan for you. Maybe you are to be around people you are right now, maybe not. I believe God makes it so either way, and does it on His timing and conditions.

What follows below is not easy to believe, maybe impossible in full, but these are Jesus' words:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" (Matthew 6:25-27)

And you think I should stay.

We are to be in the world, but not of the world. That means you can live where you are but not conform to the ways of those who are there.

And you think I should stay.

I was in a similar situation. You see I was working for the married man I was having an affair with when I came to Christ. So what to do? Should I leave and find another job? I asked God, and to my amazement, I opened my Bible to this verse.

Isaiah 52:11-12
11 Depart! Depart! Go out from there,
Touch no unclean thing;
Go out from the midst of her,
Be clean,
You who bear the vessels of the Lord.
12 For you shall not go out with haste,
Nor go by flight;
For the Lord will go before you,
And the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

I knew I would have to leave, but not in haste. Therefore, stay where you are, keep witnessing with your life as a candle in a dark place, and the Lord will make your way straight and secure when you do leave. And you will have a place to go to, before you have to leave. So relax. Be anxious for nothing. Consider this a trial to make you stronger in your faith. James 1:2-4

As Brinny is saying, bloom . Follow Christ, in due time you will see a clearer path as he reveals that to you. People who are not supposed to be in your life will get separated. As Jesus who loved the flawed, we love our unsaved family and pray for them. But God has to do a work in them for them also to see a path to Him in the Son.

Our Lord is graciously preparing you for your degree and your first position thereafter. Check out some Christian ministries and/or hospital positions now. Let's be frank: If you go to live on the streets you'll never receive that degree.

No.

The first calling of any Christian is to learn to be faithful to God in whatever place he has seen fit to call us to. Your place is to carry on with your studies and to treat everyone you encounter as if they were God himself, which of course they are. Remember even the Apostle Paul made tents to earn his own living while he preached; he did not just give up working to preach the Gospel.

It would be rather self indulgent to throw away everything to live on the streets; what good could you do for God then? How could you heal the sick, comfort the dying or visit those who are in prison?

If you do not already have a church I recommend you find one as soon as you can and speak to a trusted pastor about this; clearly you are in need of spiritual direction and I am not sure this is the best place to find it. You will get many sensible comments but I am afraid you will also get some that are not so helpful. It would serve no purpose for you to be homeless on the streets.

Remain faithful to your calling; you will know when it is actually time to move on, but you are not there yet.

I am already conformed to their ways because I was raised by them. I am trying to break away.

But once you accept Jesus into your life and repent of your old ways, He changes your heart so that you'll want to do things He wants you to do. In time, you'll notice that the things and activities (the ones that are sinful) that give you pleasure now will no longer do so. Breaking away doesn't always mean leaving the place where you are, but rather the ways you currently (or used to) hold onto. The fact that you're saying you want to break away is a sign of this. However, if leaving is not a practical thing to do at the moment, it might be best to wait until a practical way out presents itself.

Stop trying so hard. Rest in the Lord and get on with what needs to be done around you.

It is very tempting when we find faith to decide that our parents and family are inadequate because they are not where we are. Unless they are actually abusive to you then having a new faith is not a good reason to simply leave.

Our faith is not supposed to be such hard work.

The thing is many of their ways is my ways. So I'm worried about being influenced by them. And I don't have the freedom to completely change my ways until I leave.

You told us that you worried that so much as keeping in contact with family and friends would threaten you. So how do you suppose you can function in the world after you leave home? You will be surrounded by non-believers in your workplace and most other associations, pasttimes, clubs, etc. you have anything to do with.

I understand stand some of what you feel i had been in a similar situation when i moved back home after being saved. God will never abandon you not matter where you are at. It is important you have christians friends as well though all this. My main goal was to win my family for Christ which didnt always look pretty and i was cornered by all 3 family members in our house because my love for Christ. Gods holy spirit helped be strong enough to stand against what was ungodly, since then after many years i have made an impact in their lives by my devotion to my Father and even said a prayer with my sister after she welcomed Christ into her life. I believe you are to grow where God puts you. God be with you and you are in my prayers.

You change your life by living out God's Word...examples: if you use to steal,
you don't steal any more...you get a job and earn money to pay for stuff you
need.
If you use to fornicate(have sex outside of marriage) stop fornicating... get
married and have sex only with your spouse.
If you use to go around lying, don't lie, tell the truth.

And till now I was finishing college so I could get a full-time career ( healthcare because I want to help people) so I could save up enough to move out and live as God wants me to.

Many of us live out our faith right where we are...just like Daniel in the Bible lived out his faith in God even though he was a slave in a pagan's king's castle.
Read the book of Daniel in your Bible.
If you don't have a Bible, you can access one online here: BibleGateway.com: A searchable online Bible in over 150 versions and 50 languages.
