Everyday I feel this fear and stress about eternity and God and it seems everyday now I'm breaking into tears when I'm alone. Thinking about myself going to Hell, and everyone I love going to Hell and everyone I know going to Hell breaks me. And yet I feel that I'm too new and inexperienced to say anything nor do I know how to talk about it or bring it up. (Through my life I struggle with social awkwardness and anxiety. It's getting better but still...)

And while I intend to do what I can to follow the Word of God, it terrifies me that if I miss something or don't follow something correctly then I'll be damned to Hell. And I don't have anyone to help me.

People have told me that when you are saved by Jesus, you are given the Holy Spirit. But only God can give you the Holy Spirit and you can only try to follow His Word to the best of your ability. It scares me to think that I may never receive the Holy Spirit.

Plus there is that foreboding warning of how narrow is the way to righteousness and how the way to evil is broad and many go there, yet few find the way to Jesus. Well...in my life I was rarely ever one of the few.

I suggest you start studying out the love of God. Sounds like you need a revelation of how much God truly loves you, and how much he really cares about you. Look up messages on the Love of God by Andrew Wommack, and then go on from there. Understanding the love of God is a foundational truth we all need. And understanding how much God loves every single one of us will also make it easier to witness to others. People respond better to a God that loves them, rather than a God with a lightning bolt in his hand waiting to strike them down (romans 2:4)

Don't worry about saying everything perfectly, because there will always be something we forget to say, or that we should have said.

One last thing: You are saved, and therefore you never have to worry about ending up in Hell. Ephesians 1:13-14

God Bless.

1 John 4:18, There is no fear in (God’s kind of) love; but perfect (Agapē, God’s kind of) love casts out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fears is not made (Complete) perfect in love.

Love has no fear; there is no room for fear, in God’s kind of love. If you can get a revelation of how much God loves you, that will cast out all fear within you. Knowing that God loves you is the stepping stone to every promise God has for us. When you begin to understand the love that God has for you, you’ll have no doubt in your mind that God wants to answer your prayers, or that God wants to take care of you (Be your provider). When people begin to fear thing like sickness, financial problems, and stepping out in faith, what they’re really saying is that they are doubting in God’s willingness to provide for them. You’re scared he may not come through for you which all stems from a lack of revelation of God’s love for us.

Someone who fears has not had a full revelation of how much God truly loves them. You still don’t fully understand the love God has for you. You are not fully convinced in your own heart that God loves you. Because if you were fully convicted that God loves you, then there would be no room for fear within your heart. There would be no reason to fear what may happen to you, because there will be no doubt in your mind that God will be there for you.

Dear sister in Christ,

God loves you! He's never going to stop loving you. You've put your trust in Him; He will show you the way. He's not sitting up there tut-tutting and counting up all the times you slip or fail or doubt or get scared. He is right with you every moment, bringing you into His kingdom and making you fit to be there. Any thoughts or fears that say otherwise are from the devil, not from Him. You are already saved and no-one and nothing can pluck you out of His hand!

I used to suffer from terrible social anxiety and awkwardness too, by the way. It's been a long struggle and I still occasionally have moments, but I can honestly say that God has healed me of that. One thing that helped hugely was realising that the more we love God, the more we can't help loving our neighbour — the two great commandments that Christ gave us. It does become easier and easier and more and more natural, because it IS natural for a child of God to love others — because God is love, and "We love, because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19)

That reminds me — one of the most beautiful short books I know on how to love others as God would have us love them is The Greatest Thing in the World, by Henry Drummond, a Scottish minister from the Victorian era (it was a sermon he gave in the 1880s). It's a little spiritual classic and is wonderful and thought-provoking to read — you might find it helps you too. You can read it online at the link in the title, if you like.

God bless you — you WILL find the comfort and strength you're crying out for, friend. :glowingstar:

Wow, you are experiencing EXACTLY what I experienced as a new Christian. I read another thread where you said you felt a fear deep in your chest, and being scared that everyone you know is going to hell. I know that feeling all too well- I do know that those fears are spirits inside you that are getting scared because you found God. The more I fast and pray to the Lord about EVERY fear I have, about my family going to hell, about me not being ''good'' enough for heaven, etc. the less those fears become. It has been a long, several-year process getting over those fears but it is getting better. The fear of the Lord you have is a GOOD thing, proverbs says ''the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.'' People with a casual attitude about hell might not make it- we have to be diligent to be counted worthy. Feel free to message me if you ever have any questions or want to talk.

You have to get to a point to where you realize God created everything, is in control, and that His love is what you REALLY want, not the darkness of the world... because that's what the world is, it's full of selfishness and pride and materialism and lust. He will slowly change you more and more to be unaccepting of sin and then the people around you will feel convicted and at that point the only thing you can do is ''love the hell out of them'' and pray that they follow God like you do. The fear of God is a VERY HEALTHY thing. It becomes bad when the devil perverts it to the point of not being able to function, that happened to me for a while.

Also, God gives peace. When you experience the peace of God, even for just 1 second, you will never forget it. It is incredible because there is no evil, no selfishness, only pure love and righteousness. The kingdom of God is beautiful when fully understood AND lived. Just don't give up, ever. Keep praying and fasting and crying out to God EXACTLY how you feel about every fear, every negative emotion. You're right, the path to life IS narrow but don't let that cripple you like I did. God will work out those kinks in your faith in time. God HAS touched you or otherwise you wouldn't believe Jesus was actually real. I'm finding one of the secrets is to ''block out'' those negative thoughts. Cast them out. If you don't think the negative thoughts, you can't feel the negative feelings

Yeah and its said that God loves all sinners...it doesn't mean they will go to Heaven with Him.

Romans 5:8, 2 Peter 3:9. But just because someone went to hell doesn't change the fact that God still loves them. He gave all freewill, and some will choose to accept him, and other will reject him. He made a way for all to get into heaven, because he loved us that much. People reject him, because they have never truly gotten to know God.

That's where the Holy Spirit comes into play, he was given to us to "lead us into all truths" and teach us about God. God knows your heart, and when you start seeking him, and make an effort to get to know him, he will reveal himself to you. As long as your trying, you will see result, and you won't miss anything. Keep an open ear for the Holy Spirit, and he will show you what to do. He's the one that told me to study out the love of God, and that study completely changed my life (and I'm still studying it out.)

Pray Pauls prayer to the Ephesians, that the eyes of your understanding my be opened up, and that you'll get a revelation of the depths of Gods love you for. God wants to reveal himself to you more than you want to ask for it; but he will not force it upon you.

We must be DILIGENT to make sure we do not miss anything. Sin in your life should make you miserable and you should want it gone ASAP. The fear of the Lord leads to life. God is everything

Please, trust that God is good and that He loves each one of us and that He understands the difficulties we have and why we sometimes make mistakes

Jesus never condemned anyone while on earth, except those who plainly opposed Him. Instead, He always had pity on them when they became aware of their sin and turned away from it. He does not change, even when we die He will be the very same judge that He was 2,000 years ago!

Trust Him! Get to know Him by reading the scriptures all by yourself. You need to learn first-hand what He expects of you and then separate it from the false teachings of every word in the world that comes from outside the bible. Even preachers add lots of words when they preach that are not from the bible, but are exegetical.

When you learn exactly what Jesus (and not someone else in His name) expects of you, then you can keep His commandments. Jesus said "The one who keeps my commandments is truly my disciple. If you keep my commandments, then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free".
And while I intend to do what I can to follow the Word of God, it terrifies me that if I miss something or don't follow something correctly then I'll be damned to Hell. And I don't have anyone to help me.
Rest, child. "I am with you always, even to the end of the age" - Jesus Christ, Matthew 28:20.
People have told me that when you are saved by Jesus, you are given the Holy Spirit. But only God can give you the Holy Spirit and you can only try to follow His Word to the best of your ability. It scares me to think that I may never receive the Holy Spirit.

Awww, how I long for you to know that The Holy Spirit is already inside you! (John 14:17).

You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. The branch cannot itself produce fruit, unless it abides on the vine. Likewise, you cannot produce fruit unless you abide in Me. - Jesus Christ (John 15:3-4).

The wind blows where it will, and just as you don't see where it came from or where it is going, so it is with those who are born of the spirit. - Jesus Christ (John 3:8).

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." - 2 Timothy 2:15

That's not in the bibletho.
What's not in the bible? Here is my recommendation for you Jesus4Ever. I have read your posts in this thread and your blog post as well and I worry about your morbid fear of hell for yourself and your family and friends. Your relationship with God is based on fear, not love. So do this...trust God's love for you, trust that it is unconditional and forever.

Read the book that I recommended or I can suggest others. Once you realize that salvation for all is what God wills and will achieve, you will be free to love God, yourself, your family and friends.

GOD IS LOVE!

Dear daughter in Christ, Jesus4ever,
You seem anxious over so many things and are interpreting the Bible from a human self-righteousness perspective that has your focus on your own ability to earn your salvation rather than just receiving it freely. Grace is sometimes hard for us to understand because human beings do not love the way that God loves us. When I was young soldier I did not understand grace either and felt very far away from the God of my childhood. It was God's Word itself and the help of some obedient and loving brothers that opened my eyes and gave me an everlasting, unshakable hope, showing me how God would brought the free gift of the Holy Spirit into my life. Some verses that show this is God's free gift to you are:

  1. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
  2. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
  3. John 8:31-32, 36 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
  4. Luke 11:13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the HolySpirit to those who ask Him!”
Shall we examine passages 1 - 4 a little closer together?
  1. God desires that all should come to repentance and that none should perish. This is why He sent His Son into the world. He did not come for the righteous (rather the self righteous) but for sinners and His desire is for His Word live in you through Christ who will abide forever and sanctify your soul through His Holy Spirit.
  2. You are reconciled to God the Father through His Son, Christ Jesus. It is Christ alone who reconciles us to the Father. We are a new creature in Christ! Think of yourself as being a new creature conceived in the Holy Spirit as an embryo. You're at first a little zygote but pretty soon you are growing arms and legs, you are given eyes to see and ears to hear the your Father's voice though still muffled. You will learn to walk and speak in the Spirit as you grow. But what an astounding creation you shall be when Christ is fully formed in you! What a joy we have waiting on God.
  3. All you have to do is keep abiding in Jesus as He works His transformation in you. . Let His Word encourage you and draw you ever deeper. Desire to obey Him, not out of duty ot self will but out of love as the Spirit teaches you to be totally His! This ill set you free from legalism and make you a daughter of grace that is filled with the joy of the Lord, which will ever be your strength. Marinate yourself as a child of grace in His unfailing love toward you.
    • Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
  4. You cannot do anything to earn this amazing gift from God to gain His Holy Spirit. It is free for the asking if you have repented and are crying out for Him to take your heart. God will enter and you will be a newborn creature in Christ if He has not done so already! It is His desire for you to be His dear daughter and become a light bearer in Christ!
And while I intend to do what I can to follow the Word of God, it terrifies me that if I miss something or don't follow something correctly then I'll be damned to Hell. And I don't have anyone to help me.
Follow Him as one who has set you free from you must do this and that but obey Him because He first loved you and gave Himself for you. He threw Himself and that grenade of sin for you and took every last bit of shrapnel into His body as He bore that cross. Never forget it was your sin that put Him there but even more-so never forget the love He had for you as a daughter, which is why He bore that cross! His love will spring up in you and you too, as His child, will desire that same type of sacrificial love for others, as you walk with Him in this world.
People have told me that when you are saved by Jesus, you are given the Holy Spirit. But only God can give you the Holy Spirit and you can only try to follow His Word to the best of your ability. It scares me to think that I may never receive the Holy Spirit.
As I stated in #4 God desire to give the Holy Spirit if you but ask Him from a repentant heart. We do not earn receiving the Holy Spirit by our own righteousness but by our turning (repentance) to God, accepting what Christ did for you on the cross, and asking Him. Freely we have received so freely we give away what God gives us to others and pray for them to receive Him who transforms us to sons and daughters of the living God. Rivers of Living waters will spring up in your life and you will feel overwhelmed by this love!
  • Mat 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
  • Rom 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
  • 1Cor 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

Plus there is that foreboding warning of how narrow is the way to righteousness and how the way to evil is broad and many go there, yet few find the way to Jesus. Well...in my life I was rarely ever one of the few.
Who is the gate and the door daughter but Jesus? Without God all is impossible but with God all things are impossible. God does not call the equipped but rather equips the called, just like those humble fishermen from the shores of Galilee. He calls the ordinary and the things this world considers weak and foolish that His glory may disrupt what this world considers great and that His grace would shine forth the love and glory of God thru you! Just fall in love with Jesus and how can anyone help but do that the mor He makes Himself known to us! God treasure is God with us! Emmanuel!
  • John 10:1 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
  • John 10:2 “But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
  • John 10:7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
  • John 10:9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
So be very encouraged little sister! God desires you to be His daughter, greatly loved and cherished and shining out a love beyond any love you have ever known! Be blessed in Him as you grow in grace!!!
Happy 4th
May God bless, Patrick
John 17 is Christ prayer for us

May the Living waters of Life itself bring you to the deep end in Christ
