This is a frustration of mine. I'm not necessarily a non believer. But this is a topic anyone could ask so I ask it here.

I did not ask to be born. Why does God hold me accountable for anything?

He created me, gave me a spirit im supposed to make sure conforms to his destinity - otherwise im doomed. gee.... thanks :/ so gracious of You. Sometimes im like... can I go back to not existing.... no? k... thanks for nothing! (i say that sarcastically today but not always)

What am I not realizing?

Fair question.

You'll get a lot of different answers about just how God "holds you accountable." There are Christians who believe in a form of universal reconciliation. You could hear more about this on the subforums for specific faiths.

Because everything is up to God and there are no free rides.
Trust in Christ or suffer the circumstances.
It's very simple but still, most want to question the Almighty One.

It's a wide road to the Hot Place.

I know, it sounds that way.
Your thingy says "non-denom," but you said you're "not necessarily a non-believer." Would you say a little more about the teachings of whatever church or churches you've been associated with so we can know more about where you're coming from?

The argument " I did not ask to be born" is a non-starter right there.
You have to deal with reality, you are born, whether you "asked" to be or not is meaningless.
You were created, you are here. Thus, having being, you are responsible for your actions. There are certain behaviors which are evil no matter what opinions or points of view you may have. If you pursue evil and continue in it, God (and everyone else) has a right to find fault with your bad behavior.

I don't know the answer to your question.
I trust that He who made all things does though.
Have you asked Him directly and what did He say if you can share it?

Scripture tells us that He doesn't hold us accountable for things we aren't aware of if that's any help or comfort to you. He holds us accountable only for the things we do know are wrong and are hurtful towards Him, ourselves and others.

He made us to have a relationship with Him but if we choose not to He accepts that and gives us what we want in the next life; which is complete isolation from Him and all that He brings. We are left with what our hearts wanted that's only fair, right?
Complete isolation, like what in a padded cell room? Or hell? Don't sugar coat what you mean just because you might deter them.

Children don't ask to be born. Should they not be accountable to their parents?

I would gladly spend all of eternity trying to teach my boy to change his ways. My Father in heaven apparently will not.

I'm not trying to sugar coat anything I can't describe something in full that I don't fully know myself, seen or understand. Hell is isolation from God derive from that what you will.
Still a horrible scenario, but I am sure the bible paints a clearer picture of separation than you gave. I understand though about hell, and I had to think the same thing. But that was just to avoid the scarceness of it all.

I did not ask to be born.
I used to say that to my parents when I was a teenager. :)
To be honest now I am ashamed of saying such a thing.
My parents didn't ask to be born either and they never complained about their parents or God to me ever.
I just think its the height of arrogance to say such a thing now. (sorry but I do have some empathy for you) And isn't it the spoilt first world teenagers, who tend to say it? I mean, would Christians in poor countries say it?
Can you imagine if God spoke to us like this before our lives started?
"Now Paul, this is what your life is going to be like. You grow up in a nice first world working class family, not rich but very loving. You will suffer a lot of anxiety and self-doubt throughout your life. Its up to you if you want to make the most of it. Do you want it or not? I've got a spare life as a tortured Chrstian in a Muslim dominated country but you probably wouldn't like that , would you?"
