I can't take the 9-5 anymore I'm going crazy! Working a 9-5 while working my business is taking an eternity.

I feel like I'm going to lose it any day at work. I hate working for someone I hate it. I can't sit in a chair for 8 hours doing stuff I hate watching my life pass by anymore. I'm in prison or hell everyday and it's not ever getting better.

I don't know if this will make you feel better but I will be working basically a 9-5 as well, in financial aid, boring as heck! and sometimes difficult, sitting most of the time ... servicing rude students who have no respect! I'm somewhat dreading it but I would like a car and less student loans when I graduate and I prayed for this job so I'm sticking with it

If you ever fell like venting you can message me :)

I'm going crazy! ..... Working a 9-5 while working my business is taking an eternity. I feel like ...
... feel like the Israelites did for 400 years in Egypt? or 40 years walking in the desert (with basically the same food every day! ) ...

Who delivered YHWH'S PEOPLE from Egypt ?

HE IS the SAME ONE WHO delivers us from the world - calls us, choses us, sets us apart, gave HIS OWN SON to die for us,
and if / when we are born again it is BY HIS WILL not by ours or any man's ....

So, if we call on Him, and if we wait for Him, and if we trust Him,
(and even if we fail, even if we do not)

HE IS FAITHFUL AND TRUE! HE provides for everything needed for salvation in this life, and in the life to come.

HE is the CREATOR - and HE tells us what to do. :) (to have LIFE, LIFE abundantly full of peace, joy and righteousness)

Personally, and always in line , perfectly, with the BIBLE,
HE tells us..

I hate jobs where you have to sit all day.
But I don't like physical jobs either, which wear out your joints from repetition .
Or in your face retail jobs where you are on your feet all day dealing with customer dissatisfaction.
How many jobs have you done in life? There is more than one nightmare job, that's for sure.
Is there any guarantee you will be happy in your next job?
I'm just telling from my own experience, that the job you have now, can seem like the worst one.
I'm not saying you aren't suffering now. Better you start to make a practical plan of how to get out of there.

I can't even end my life to end my suffering. Why is it only wealthy people get freedom in life? Everyone else work for the man.
I can empathise with your complaining but it still aint pretty. :)

It's different when u have something to look forward. When you're in school there's an illusion of hope. Once your out of school your stuck in a corporate nightmare until you die unless you escape.

Ohhhhh I see what you mean. Well this probably won't make you feel better but for me graduating is just a means to an end. I live in an expensive suburb in the outskirts of a very expensive city that isn't getting any cheaper. I wouldn't consider myself overly ambitious either. I imagine I will find myself in a similar situation as yourself but I'm trying to relocate to the USA after graduating so that's what I am most hopeful for!

King David asked that question when
he was on the run for his life.

YHWH showed him the end of the wealthy people,
and
King David said "thank the Creator I stayed quiet, for I see the end now of the wealthy people, ...... "
(paraphrased)

And King David was joyous and at peace,
because YHWH had showed him their end,
and
showed him his own end (which was better than any of them, in fact better than most everyone in history ever).

Read the book of Ecclesiastes! It helped me a lot!

"And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun" Ecc 2 10-11

Find out from
the Creator - who sent His Son to die for us, to be resurrected to give us a chance for life,
what
HE offers to look forward to -----

IN FACT! --- that is how JESUS endured the shame, humiliation, stoning, beatings, crucifixion,
AND bearing on HIMSELF all mankind's sin - punishment/ sickness,
so
HE could and did provide salvation and healing to us....

HOW did JESUS endure ? ---- by the joy set before Him, by His Father in heaven, HE looked forward to the perfect plan of His Father,
and
not anything man nor all the world could ever provide!

LIFE !

Again I can so empathise. My happiest days were probably at College. Being young and looking forward to earning good money instead of being a poor student.
But young Paul couldn't stay a child forever, even though he secretly dreamed of it. :)

Rant on...it's OK.
It's not taking an eternity... what is taking a long time is for you to learn how to patiently wait and work your job that provides you an income, thank God for it because I have friends and loved ones who haven't been able to find steady employment for a couple of years now.

I feel like I'm going to lose it any day at work. I hate working for someone I hate it.
Self employment really isn't the freedom that books usually make it out to
being.
Self employment is just that, YOU are doing all the leg work and the "grunt work", you're responsible for setting the business hours and until you can afford an employee or two...You are also an employee.
You're learn about paying various taxes, insurances etc.

I can't sit in a chair for 8 hours doing stuff I hate watching my life pass by anymore.
Yes you can and you will if you want to be successful at keeping your own business flourishing and keeping customers/clients happy.
Impatience? easily upset? that won't get you far if you truly want to be self employed and have your business to last.
What you doing at your current job is helping you to prepare for your future so you can maintain your self employment.
Being self employed isn't easy and most fail because they lack patience, drive and they don't want to work hard.

I'm in prison or hell everyday and it's not ever getting better.

Stop the short term focusing...see the big picture, really see it!
See>>> you being self employed...making things happen, you need to
spend time on planning, don't rush it...put real effort, prayer and research
into having your own business. The right contacts/connections are crucial
and you can't afford to choose the wrong contacts or have the wrong connections.
Do your homework well.
Finding clients/customers will require you to have patience, drive, positive attitude and you also need to be diligent.
I know because I've been through all that...believe me, you will need that patience because if you don't have it, you ain't going to make it as a "solo act".

Thomas Edison had to of had patience because it would take over three thousands attempts to make an efficient lamp that could be used in a home.
Edison focused on the "big picture" and diligently worked towards it.

That's why I'm still in a dead-end job. Takes huge courage and determination to start a business. My other excuse is that I'm 59. :)

I can empathize with the OP to some degree. My job involves computer support and some coding. I'm blessed to have it. But after 24 years, I hope to be able to do something else. I've started work on a novel and would like to devote more time to it and to reading.

My advice? Go back to college and get a PharmD. Working as a tech is already good clinical experience. Just take O-Chem 1 and 2, Biochem, and anything you didn't do well in last time.

I took upper division organic chem. I got a B I think in biochemistry idk. I was struggling with medical illnesses at the same time too. The business I've been working on is basically like an online drugstore. Have most of my licensing taken care of the only issue is licensing for prescription medications. I don't want to dispense or carry inventory for those, just sell them. I'll have to call and see what I need. Probably an attending pharmacist.

I feel like pharmD is a waste of my time though. I also don't have $200,000 and 8 years to dedicate to that profession when it bores me. I feel like those in medicine and pharmacy are textbooks and lack creativity. I like chemistry and the lab though.

I don't care a thing about pharmacy I never even liked medicine until I got sick and only wanted to be a scientist until I found out how awful it is for scientists.

My professors had very little respect for premeds. They didn't care about the science only their resumes for getting into medical programs. I agreed with their dislike of premeds since the ones I was around were privileged rich kids.

Other than owning my own store or business. I just want my own lab and research. That way I can pay for time to work on my hobbies, writing, painting, learning code, and music.
