  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why seek "God"?

How do you know (without appealing to faith based on your choice of scripture)?
Every body knows.
God given conscience.

Yet He still says, if your idol will save you, let him - call on him/it in the day of trouble / on judgment day / call on your idol, and let them defend you.

i.e. God still gives free will, right up until death, or judgment day,
sometimes (not always).

the first thing that i had started to do as a religious worshiper, as far as i can remember, was that i believed in the One Who is really the true God without reading/using any scripture/spiritual book, and only then He gave me to use the Bible (and not only it) when witnessing to His Word/truth...

I do not know. My conscience does not testify to an Almighty God. On the other hand, my experience testifies otherwise.

Buddha is not an idol, nor can he save me. His teachings shows me that I must help myself, and that is plainly evident and observable as effective in my personal experience.

Why did you start off "believing"? What's the rationale for that?

that your buddha is a false prophet
No way, shape or form have I ever thought of the Buddha as a prophet. That's not his mission here on earth. You may not understand this great saying filled with wisdom that goes like this: "If you see the Buddha on the Road, Kill Him". But that pretty much puts him out of the prophet business.

.... or so what have you achieved by being a mystic,
A deeper communion with Christ.

...and so what have the mystics achieved through their so-called mysticism?!,
Christian theology for one.

Perhaps one day, it shall be in full fruition - in nibbana.
Some (count me as one) see the process of awakening happening right now as an evolutionary step in Human consciousness.

i wanted there to be overall salvation and realized that only the One Who is really the true God can implement and accomplish it - this was precisely the rationale that made me start seeking and believing in Him very seriously

i don't advise anybody to destroy/ruin human lives, but i can tell you that the false prophets don't lead you to the true One...

Graduated steps towards awakening is part of the teachings of Buddhism too.

I perceive that the general state of human consciousness is in the process of degrading, however.

Instead of starting off by believing "in the One Who is truly God", why not start off with the blind belief that Buddha is the fully enlightened one, instead? Why choose one over the other, as a starting point?

you are in very great delusion if you think the "darkness" is useful/helpful or a part of life, not death

Blessings
With out darkness, how would you know that light even existed?

I didn't think that you would understand. But that in itself is a very good indicator that your hitting the wrong notes when it comes to Buddhism. I don't know if you care about that, but it is what it is.
