T shirts with bible verses

Short pithy messages or verses are great on shirts... but it begs the question, "Would we be willing to wear such a shirt in a Muslim country?" My point is, we have to back up such statements on our shirts etc with actually telling people - verbally - the Gospel message... even if it means persecution...

Yep, I gave up on the bumper stickers a long time ago... there are a lot of very self-righteous drivers out there, and there is no way to explain your driving action to someone who is loudly hooting you or gesticulating at you! That is if you did something minor and was not deliberately rude...

But verses that tell people that they are loved by Jesus may encourage the people behind. Something like, "Jesus loves you. And love never say, 'I love you, do you love me? I had this idea a few years ago but i was thinking of it again lately as a way to stir up faith in others. I am a terrible marathon runner but this friend whos faith seems dead had this crazy idea she wanted to enter another marathon and crazier want me to do it as well. (They arent cheap, marathons, you have to pay to enter them)

So i was thinking NO not again cos last time she actually came nearly last and i came ahead of her but not first or anything i wasnt even running all the time i have no idea why she wants to enter one again. (Weve done about three, and most of them you just end up walking)

As you know shes obssessed with clothing I thought next time if we ever do another one we will have matching t shirts with a bible verse on the back. (So the people behind us can be inspired) I will get them made especially. So even if we dont end up winning or evem doing it will have the t shirt so to speak.

Question - what would be a good bible verse to have? Has to be short, clearly readable and inspiring to others who are running or walking.

If you're entering a marathon and want a T shirt with a verse on the back JUST to "stir up faith in others"; a) you have to make sure you're always in the front/middle of the runners so there are some people behind to see it.
b) I'd say, either ask the Lord which verse would be best or choose your favourite, so that if you are asked about it, you can give a testimony/say it means something to you.
And c) pray that other people will see it - they will be running and may not notice - and ask questions.

But people usually run marathons either for a sense of personal achievement, get a good time etc, or to promote a good cause and raise money for that cause. If you are doing it for neither of those reasons, don't like running and don't want to pay to enter something you don't like - why do it? Why not just buy a t shirt with John 3:16 on it and wear it to go shopping/to the gym/to meet friends or whatever?
