I wanted to post this here because I realize that if I post it in on the "Christian Advice" forum I'll probably get advice from everyone but a Catholic. Most of that advice would be along the lines 'You don't need to confess your sins to a man. Confess them directly to Jesus". I feel no desire explain or debate confession therefore here I am.

First, let me preface this by saying I'm schizo-affective. I don't know if any of you know anything about this disease but suffice it to say it is basically like a combination schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Anyways, one of the problems I have is that when I become maniac I get hyper sexual but since I'm bedbound I release that by looking at inappropriate content. More to the point is that I had recently gone to confession and that was one of the sins I sins I confessed. The problem? I had a manic episode and looked at inappropriate content. The worst part is I took is I took communion without going to confession. I'm at a loss. I don't know what to do. For me to go to confession Father has to come to my apartment and with this being Lent I know he is extremely busy. I've prayed on this and the only thing I know to do is stop receiving communion until after I am able to go to confession. I'm just afraid that since I've committed a mortal sin if I passed before I go to confession I can't go to heaven. I'm, also, afraid I've committed a mortal sin by taking communion without going to confession. Very confused.

One other thing is I put software on my computer to help me with inappropriate content for times when I'm manic. It'll block the sites. I actually have to give the software permission to show the sites. I think that will help a hundred percent.

great job on getting filter software
keep going to confession

but God knows you are sick, mental problems ARE real sicknesses
because of this, your moral actions done in manic states might not carry the weight of full culpability
so it might not be a mortal sin for you

Firstly you repent this sin to Jesus one on ONE in genuine remorse from your heart in front of The Cross.

Order Jesus on The Cross if you dont have it with you.

Satan and evil spirits detest Jesus on The Cross and you will be more armoured in Holiness and Protection with Jesus on His Cross and Jesus and Mother Mary's Holy Images around you. Order Jesus Divine Mercy Holy Image for your home and car for greater protection. Remove the devices that are making you sin in this way. Get rid of the mobile or television or computer part that is causing through satan and his evil spirits tempting you. Keep up repentance to Jesus after making The Sign of The Cross. Satan will try and block you from doing this so ignore these blocks completely continuing to repent from your heart.

pray The Holy Rosary to Jesus The Holy Spirit and to our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary to break the filthy addiction. All addictions are broken by Jesus and Mother Mary for those whom pray The Most Holy Rosary. Trust in Jesus completely with this. All negatives were removed from my life after one week of praying The Most Holy Rosary by Mother Mary Whom led my heart back to Jesus in 2011 while dying. One week! Then Jesus and Mother Mary changed my life, healed me while dying, and called upon me to do our Lord's Holy Works of His with all of the Glory being Yours my Dear Lord Jesus.

Next I was led to pray Jesus/God's Holy Divine Mercy Chaplet and Novena and then our Lord Jesus' Holy Wound Chaplet. Consecration of my Heart and Soul to Jesus' Sacred Heart and Consecration of my heart and soul to our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary's Holy Immaculate Heart daily or weekly. Fast if healthy blocking satan and his temptations. Call upon Saint Joseph to assist you prior to prayer and to pray for you for the cessation of all a filthy thoughts and acts. Ask Holy Michael Archangel to block satan and the evil spirits whom cause these things. Wear Mother Mary's Holy Miraculous Medal and Jesus on The Cross if you can visit a Catholic Bookshop or order online. Order a Holy Scapula and wear i

Focus on Jesus' Sorrowful Mysteries first in Illustration with Jesus Cross nearby. Ask our Blessed Virgin Mother Mary to break all addictions for Good. Trust in Jesus and our Blessed Mother.

The Holy Rosary is a beautiful and awesome spiritual tool against sin. Use it!

Praying to Christ about the specific sins and temptations you're facing could be a huge help, too. He already knows what you've done, but letting Him know and being honest can open the heart to more graces.

I wish I could help you with regards to confession. Is there any way your priest could come to where you are to hear your confession?

You have truly received our Lord Jesus, The Holy Spirit and Mother Mary if you are praying The Holy Rosary Gracia, it is Jesus, The Holy Spirit and our Heavenly Mother Mary Whom flow through with the encouragement on every occasion!!

In addition, every Holy Rose of The Our Father goes to Jesus, God our Heavenly Father and every Holy Rose of The Hail Marys goes to our Blessed Virgin Mother Whom through and with Jesus, God and The Holy Spirit have attached 15 Holy Promises, many of which I have already received regularly over 6 years Marcia! The efforts and sacrifices in time focussing on Jesus and Mother Mary's Lives here on earth in Holy Illustration are God's Holy Word all of these.

Love in our Lord Jesus Christ our Merciful Saviour Marcia, The Holy Spirit and Mother Mary

If, God forbid, you pass with the sincere desire to Confess and receive Absolution, but are unable to receive it, I do not believe God would hold that against you. Plus, in an emergency, a priest could be summoned rather quickly.

But yes, it is a good idea not to receive Communion until you can next Confess and receive Absolution. He who partakes of the Body of the Lord unworthily profanes the Lord. Nothing to be done about it, but make sure to confess that as well at your next Confession.

I'll be praying for you. I know how hard it is.

I guess I just worry too much because I'm afraid of doing the wrong thing. I plan on going to confession but it'll probably have to be sometime after Easter when father isn't so busy.

Thank you for your suggestions but I don't think you understand. It's not an addiction. With schizo-affective disorder one has what is called manic attacks. When this happens many things can take place. Such as reckless spending of money. With me when I'm manic I'm reckless with money, hyper sexual.....among other things. The point being when I'm hyper sexual I'm homebound, due to a disability, so I satisfy that with inappropriate content. An addiction would be something I did even if I weren't manic. Which I don't. But I do thank you because your suggestions very well may help with other aspects of my life.

I need to get a book to refresh my memory on how to pray the rosary. My main problem is finding things that is either free or inexpensive. Either way I don't always verbally pray because I have very little time by myself but I always spend time with Jesus in my thoughts when reading my Bible, after I turn out the lights at night, etc.

I'm going to try and have father come out after Easter. But that depends on if my brother and I have completed our move to our new home. Once we do get settle I am going to set an appointment with him to come out and hear my confession.

When I go to confession I will confess that I when I was manic what I did. I very much appreciate the prayers. Thank you.

I'm bipolar, so I have problems with being manic as well. It's a real life devastator -- I've lost so many jobs. I understand perfectly the problems you are having with hypersexuality, and I'm mobile so it's been even more dangerous for me. If it is of any help to you, there is hope. It has taken me about 30 years of my adult life, but I did finally get my sexuality under control, including masturbation, inappropriate content, and even just fantasizing. I very rarely fall down now, finally. (When I go to confession about it, I don't do face to face -- it would be too much.) I'm now celibate and very happy. So don't give up. Have your therapist work with you on CBT skills -- the same skills that they use for recovering addicts dealing with relapse temptations.

I'm currently looking for a new pdoc so I'm off my meds and that doesn't help matters out but being manic can be quite devastating to one's life. I have spent hours and hours surfing the web for inappropriate content.....I mean doing nothing but that and it's never enough..............anyways, I'll take your advice when I find a pdoc and find some coping skills to help me deal with this. I'm currently going through a manic episode and really having a difficult time.

It's an addiction that is no different from booze or pills. "One is too many, and a thousand are never enough."
True....the only thing I hate about using the word 'addiction' is it makes some people think it's a choice and that means that one could quit anytime one wanted. Which isn't the case. If only it were then it would save one a lot of heart ache.

that's because people don't understand addiction. I'm an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and it's absolutely absurd to think that an addict can quit anytime they want.

Unfortunately ignorance is one of those things that most people refuse to change about their self. The most tragic thing is Christians can be some of worst of the lot when it comes to the ignorance of addiction, mental illness or anything of that sort. I think that is one of the biggest reasons I was so put off about coming back to Christianity. From having epilepsy to mental illness and having been told by different 'Christians' that I had demons in me.....well I'm sure can understand......but my need for God to be in my life again outweighed such remarks and I decided it was time to return.
