I vaguely remember that.
But modern egyptians dont walk like that surely.

I dont know. People always talk about egypt like it was back in pyramids days and everyone was writing on papyrus and worshipping cat gods when its probably not even remotely like that now.

If I remember correctly, the song came out while the King Tut exhibit was touring the US ... so not a completely random song about Egypt (and walking like an Egyptian has to do with copying the poses demonstrated on the ancient art)

The 1920s were another time when American was in love with ancient Egypt in relationship to the opening of King Tuts tomb. Jewelry and art of that time period had a lot of ancient Egyptian influence...

Except those egyptian cotton sheets are made in china, so I don't know how that works.

What if they are cursed?

My last room had a hall with Arabic tiles in it. I put up pictures of Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics in it. One of it is the famous "Judgement of the dead" scene.

I even had pictures of portions of King Tut's sarcophagus hanging on them....where the suspected curses are supposed to be written.

I never experienced any curses, apart from the Middle East region suddenly hit by economic woes from the low oil prices where I was living at that time. But for me, everything went well. Maybe I'm immune because I look a bit like King Tut!

No sorry, playing an egyptian video game does not count.
Maybe I should ask in the mature singles forum instead.

Called me out and went after me, eh...

I had a student from Egypt who moved here (unsure if it was a temporary or permanent stay), but I don't recall him saying about his actual time living there, curiously enough.

What I find disturbing is how we in America is taking on the Egyptian culture instead of the traditional Greek/Roman culture we have always been. Our Government buildings in Washington and most state capitals have always reflected the Roman and Greek culture that we evolved from but if you drive across the country you will see lots of pyramids unlike I have ever seen before. I asked an architect once and he said it was because pyramids are a simple design and cheap to build but I personally believe it is us growing away from the good that we once were and we are evolving into an evil culture.

I need to watch 'the Prince of Egypt' disney movie as a boy in my class said it was based on the story of Exodus, but I couldn't find it in the shops or video store. I don't know if it stuck to the Bible closely though or embellished it.
It's not a Disney movie, actually, and it does stick to the story for the most part. :) It's an extraordinary film.

Really? Why do americans have a pyramid on their banknotes?

In france they have a pyramid on the louvre musueum in Paris.

I havent noticed many here although we do have an obelisk on one tree hill which was meant to be a memorial to maori people the european settlers thought would die out (charming!)

In new age circles, pyramids are used to channel spirits etc.

The unfinished pyramid on the back of our moneys is to represent they we are always unfinished and constantly building.

What I am talking about is like when you enter Memphis from the Arkansas side you will almost instantly see a pyramid that is now a Bass Pro Shop but why a pyramid. Actually since its the city of Memphis I get it since Memphis is from Egypt but its also new growth in my area. I notice lots of building are being built with a pyramid at the top. To me it represents that it is the same god of evil that made Egypt what it was that is now in bed with the financers who are funding these projects.

Very modern and Aztecan or Mayan looking. Notice how the building next to it is traditional Greek/Roman with the pillars but new modern stuff is evil culture looking. We are lost sight as to what we are and are returning to an evil god.

Now the worshipping of cat gods...seems to be one thing that has persisted even on here. I dont know if God liked me treating my cat as if hes god. I mean if I didnt appease him, with offerings, he could scratch me.

When me and my brother were kids we had a cat that we would grab by the tail and swing it around over our heads and then let go and watch it smash into the wall. We never considered it a god but we were impressed with how it was able to just shake it off and run away.

Setting aside the fact that I'm not aware of any increase in pyramid architecture in the US, that's quite a leap of logic.

What god of evil?

What god of evil?

Umm, ok.

Umm, ok, there is no god of evil until you tell me there is one.
